@MrMuaythai I don’t think Shaq’s racist, he’s just got one of the most sensitive egos ever. Shaq should’ve taken his health and the game in general more seriously for longer than he did when he was in his prime in the ‘90s and 2000s, but he didn’t. Like Shannon said, he didn’t put in the work he should’ve, he’d get fat and didn’t train but still wanted to be viewed like Jordan was but he didn’t. He lacked discipline/work ethic and he lost out on 2-3 or more championships due to this.

I’m so sick of people diminishing what Kareem has accomplished. He has the most impressive TOTAL basketball career. A 79-2 high school record with 3 straight titles and a 71-game winning streak. Then goes to college and wins
3 straight NCAA titles at UCLA with an 88-2 record and 3 Tournament MOP Awards. Then goes to the NBA and
wins six titles (in 10 trips) and six MVP awards…..which is the most all-time. Not to mention that the man held the all-time scoring record for 39 years after he retired. When Kareem retired her was the all-time leader in Blocks, 3rd in Rebounds, 19th in steals, and 14th in assists! From high school ball to NBA retirement, NO ONE has a more impressive resume than Kareem.
But give it a second….someone is going to bring up Jordan going 6-for-6 in The Finals with 6 Finals MVPs to basic make Kareem a scrub.

Instead of trying to stay in basketball shape during offseasons and going into a fresh season ready to bust some heads…..he usually would let himself go during offseason time. And ‘play himself into shape’ during the season.
Kobe bought that up and Shaq rejected it at the time. Most likely would be in goat convo, but didn’t want to put the extra work in on top of the god given ability he had. So it is what it is.

And don’t say Kobe was young because if the roles were reversed and Kobe was in his prime and on the contrary Shaq came into the 1996 season as a rookie they would’ve won at least 7+ rings imo.
