It is extremely rare to find someone actually doing this on camera. countless videos of people showing the finished thing and talking about it. thanks!
Awesome! I’m happy you got something from the video. I’m probably like many other people out there and I have actual questions about a process or Serta in step, and exactly like you said , other videos just gloss over things. My goal was to actually show the process and show anywhere I got hung up on because I know others could too. Thank you for watching my video 🤙🏼
Thanks. Your video saved me $600. I had epoxy installed on in my garage & had to remove my softener. When I called the plumbing company, they wanted $600 to remove it & install it back 2 days later. Your video helped me do it myself & save $600. Thanks man!
Man that’s awesome to hear! I’m happy you got it done and saved that money. That’s a great feeling. I know they have to charge some for travel time there and back and the probably few minutes or an hour of their time, but $600 is a little much for just uninstall and reinstall. That’s cool you got it done yourself.
I found myself in the same situation. This video is truly a money saver
People like you help the world turn. Thank you!
Thank you. I appreciate that.
You're right about the instructions at the beginning not telling you to leave the outlet closed during that System Startup. It only says to open the outlet to let it flow back in the house at the end of the instructions on step 5. I'm sure many others like me started it by reading one step at a time. 😅 LOL
Thankfully I was also watching your video while doing this and shut off the outlet valve at the 5 minute mark after starting it.
I do have one tip I'd like to mention.
For anyone setting this up for the first time. Make sure to secure that drain line. When my unit kicked on that drain line shot up out of my floor drain and sprayed water all over the place. 😂
lol oh no. Yes good information. You should have that drain like secured for sure. I didn’t realize how much pressure that small line would have. If you don’t have it clamped or secured with a connector of some sort you should definitely make sure it is.
And yes the instructions could be a little better though through for people following along. Thank you for finding my video and watching. I appreciate it. Happy I could be of some help.
My husband and I just finished installing our system. Followed every step all the way to the end. Great video easy installation. Also to let all of you know. We save so much $$$$ by doing this our selfs😊
🥳🥳 that’s freakin’ awesome!! Good job!!
I just want to say thank you for your video, and the installation process went flawlessly! Projects like these is very intimidating to me, but I couldn’t believe how easy it really was. It was like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. Thank you.
That’s awesome to hear! I’m happy you got it done. I know that feeling when it all comes together. And then that feeling of saving some money. Thank you for watching and finding my channel.
Wow…very detailed video. Made me feel confident that I can install mine!
You can definitely do it yourself 🤙🏼
You have definitely explained and demonstrated this assembly very clearly...the best I've ever seen..I have the exact same softener and now I won't need to call a plumber...thanks again !!
That’s awesome to hear. Thank you for the kinds words. I try to put useful info out in these videos when showing how something works or how to install yourself.
Just purchased my Aquasure Harmony Water Softener. Your very descriptive video was a great help in my installation.
That’s awesome. I’m happy I could be of help
This is an excellent video and probably saved us about $600 in installation by doing it ourselves. Thank you SO much! Perfect instructions!
That’s awesome! I love hearing this! I really appreciate the kind words. Happy you got it done and saved that cash !
Great video bro, I like that you’re very clear on explaining every single step! Great lighting as well. You knocked out of the ball park!!
Thank you I really appreciate that.
I was overcharged for a water softner in the past because I did not have the knowledge to install it myself. You make this look so easy. I think I will try it myself, thanks to your video.
Your very welcome. And I know exactly what your talking about. My first time having someone come by from a installation company they quoted me first around $6k. Then talking them down to something like $2.3k. Still pretty crazy. That’s one of the reasons I do a lot of DIY installations, it’s because I’m motivated by the savings I can have. I can actually afford to have some of those nice things by doing it myself, and not having to be charged or overcharged in some cases. It’s a lot of things that we can do ourselves if we just had a little bit of information. And nowadays with CZcams and Minnie, good channels out there it’s really easy to find that information in Build that confidence.
Thanks for your bye xt I’m new to well and septic guy jut hit me for 4k had to visa I’m apprehensive to allow them to install water softener ca I ask what they hit for an installation. They want to charge me 6k to install tankless water heater
@@FortKnoxCo what’s Minnie
@@blt981 sorry. I mistyped. Probably autocorrect. I meant “with CZcams and many good channels out there”.
Damn man jajajajajaja I had some questions but you didn't leave anything, the best explained video I've ever seen, thanks for the video
Nice! Thats great to hear. I always worry I’m going too far into the weeds on stuff. But I always feel like everyone will be able to take at least part of what I’m saying useful.
Truly the best review that anyone can ask for. I applaud you. You have provided me with all the insight required to be able to conquer this installation. Thank you again bro. You're the man.
I really appreciate you commenting. Makes me happy that I made the video and it’s helping people. Thank you!
I also just posted a video about how to test your water before and after. So you can see how well your system is working. Not a long video but I was pretty happy to see my water hardness almost down to zero
@Fort Knox Co. awesome. I'll definitely take a look. I'll pick up a few water test to do the same. Thank you bro. You do great work, and more importantly, you go above and beyond with the videos. Your instructions, direction, and guidance are truly appreciated.
@@BRONXDEVILDOG I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Means a lot. If you have any questions with something on the install let me know. 🤙🏼
One of the vest videos I'm have seen. Thank you sir for the detailed instructions. You really save folks some money here, including me
Thank you! I really appreciate that. I was hoping I could provide some valuable content on here.
I asked my plumber to install this but he said he would be busy for at least a week..I think that was double talk for try diying it before calling me. Thank you for a very well explained video.
Well thank you. I appreciate it. That’s unfortunate he didn’t want the work. But this is definitely something you can tackle yourself. Depending on where your starting point is with your softener water loop you may
Have a very quick install.
Good job in explaining step for step and tips 👊. By the way have like a narrator voice behind the scene😁✌️
Thank you I appreciate that 🤙🏼
You are an excellent instructor. Thank you sir for sharing your gift of teaching.
Thank you I really appreciate that.
Well ladies and gentleman I just got my water softener installed Saturday.
I used shark bites I ended up making bypass just in case if I ever have to service water softener yes I do know water softener does have by pass but if you have to replace or get water softener serviced I don’t have to shut my water off.
Make sure all of the shark bites have rubber o rings installed inside. One of my shut off valves did not have rubber o ring installed I had leak when I try turning water On.
Before you cut measure twice maybe even three times lol.
I was able to by pass one out of three faucets going outside.
So when I water garden I’m not using soft water.
This video did help my a lot Thanks again Dude keep in mind if you guys attempt this project mustaches are optional 😂 👍🏻
Haha. Awesome! Great job man. Sounds like you figured it all out. I’m happy to hear this success story 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Just installed this system, this video was extremely helpful. Ended up having to go with 3/4” to 1” from my wall to pre filter and then on to softener. Got shark bites with 45* elbows with threaded male ends on them. Lines connected directly. They had 3/4 to 1” lines at ace hardware for $20. Did the replacement/install this afternoon, it’s working like a charm.
That’s awesome to hear! And those shark bites are a great find! $20 sounds like a steal. I’ve seen some of those larger shark bites fittings go for a pretty penny
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! You helped save my family and I a bunch of money, and I appreciate you.
Thank you I appreciate that. Happy I could be of help. 🤙🏼
Awesome how to video. You saved me a lot of $$$ by giving me the confidence to do it myself. Clear and concise instructions made this easy.
Thank you! I happy to hear this. That was my goal. It’s always nice to be able to save some big money and do stuff like this yourself. Then you’ll have more confidence in the next project you want to tackle
Great informative video. I installed the Aquasure water softner today. It took me about 8 hours but it was my bad because I had to make multiple back and forth trips to Home Depot for parts. i will tidy it up tomorrow and have it running inside our home. I purchased a PEX tool for the connections and it was pretty simple once I got going. On to the next home project..... Thank you so much for taking the time and going step by step.
That’s awesome to hear! That PEX tool is awesome. Did you get the pex A expansion or PEX B clamp style? We have pex A in our home and it’s all I’ll ever use now. Having that tool is a life saver. I’m about to run all water lines in this casita build. I’ll be filming all of it and doing explorations on all the areas. Kitchen, two full baths, laundry, exterior hose hook ups, everything.
I have the PEX B style clamp. My home is a new build (4 years) so I will be using it for small projects. THANKS again!@@FortKnoxCo
@@sergiocarrasco3169 your welcome. I appreciate it.
Alright, now I'm confident I can install this myself instead of spending thousands of dollars to use a plumbing company. I'll let you know how it goes. Super helpful, thanks!
Nice! I’m happy to hear this. It’s definitely something you can do. Any questions along the way let me know
Thank you that was one of the best tutorial videos I've have ever seen.
You’re very welcome. I appreciate that.
You made this so easy! I did ours in 60 minutes. Start to finish
That’s awesome to hear. Good job! Happy I could be of help
Just installed my system - very easy to follow..only challenge is the blue retaining clip. The yellow was simple once I took it out (as shown) but the blue doesn’t go as flush.. it’s in and not going anywhere but would’ve liked seeing how you got it to set. Great video!!
That’s great you got it done. Sorry I didn’t get the video of seating the blue clip. Those small pieces can be tricky sometimes. But once you know how they are supposed to work you can
Hopefully figure it out like you did. If I make another video showing the next install I’ll try to go in more detail on those kind of things.
This video helped me install my system in no time! Thanks for the help!
That’s awesome to hear! Happy I could be of help!🤙🏼 good job getting it done.
Great video! I will be installing a similar system when we move into Lot#2! Thanks!
Thank you! That’s awesome. If you have any questions shoot them my way
Excellent video! Thank you for your efforts.
Thank you. I appreciate that
Thank you for the helpful and interesting instructional video. You explained the steps in a very easy going but knowledgeable way. Thanks again.
You’re welcome I’m happy you got something from it. I was hoping to help other ppl understand what’s going on with the softener and maybe they will save the money and do the project themselves
Great Video, I just purchased same kit and your video really helped with install, thank you
That’s awesome! We love our system. No complaints. Did you check out my hard water testing video? We wanted to make sure it was making a difference and we confirmed that it is softening the water to under 50ppm
Really awesome video!! Just installed it with the sharkbite quick connects and not even a drop of water in the floor!
That’s awesome!! Good job!!
Going to be installing ours myself now, looks like I’ll be cutting the copper U shaped connection and adding shark bites like you said. Thank you so ouch for your detailed explanation!
That’s awesome ! I’m happy to be of help. Those shark bite with the male threads to come off the pipes make the whole process so much quicker. Not complicated at all after getting the loop set up
I bought this system and your video is awesome! Thank you!!!
Thank you! That’s awesome to hear. We loved this system. It did great softening the hard water here in Vegas.
Thank you hoss..I was intimated with doing this in my home. But I’m starting this project this week. Again thank you.
That’s awesome to hear. Thank you. If you have any questions along the way let me know
Great thorough video. I’ll only need to make one trip to the home improvement store now!
Nice!! You got this! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Very helpful I got tripped up on the valves and BD,BF cycles. Had them on bipass and never switched open/closed, thank you for explaining
No problem at all. Happy I could be of help
Thanks so much for making this video. We ended up ordering the same softener from Amazon, got a couple 24" sharkbite connector/hoses and VIOLA! It was as easy as you made it look. The manual was good, but you were great. We really appreciate all the pointers. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much ! Happy to hear you had a smooth installation and I could be of help! Keeps me motivated!
Great video! You’re going to save my family a ton of money
Thank you. That’s awesome to here. It’s the best feeling keeping the hard earned money in the pockets
Awesome thanks for the video. Just ordered this set up 👍
That’s great! Your going to love it
Why is your video better then the manufacturers official video, how have they not hired you as there video guy. You are the best, I was frustrated till I saw your video
I really appreciate the kind words. I feel ya on the other videos, seems like they skip over a lot of stuff that I would have questions on. I try to put stuff in videos that I found helpful and parts I know people might have trouble with. Show them some techniques I used to overcome an obstacle.
I have another whole home filtration video coming out where a manufacturer actually asked me to make their how to install video for them. So that should be out here in the next week or so.
One of the best and easiest videos on doing this type of setup. Thanks for the great video! I'm about to cut the cord on my monthly water exchange service and you have given me a lot of useful info. I think I have the same type hookup as yours (one clear flex line going into the house and two copper water lines that attach to the tank). I think my copper lines are smaller than yours. My system also seems to be looped together atm. Looks like I need to do some cutting and making sure I get the right shark bites for my application. Otherwise, you have given me some confidence!
That’s awesome. It’s definitely something you can do yourself. And cutting the pipes and putting the fittings on is probably the easiest part. If you know the pipe size ahead of time, you can obviously have the fittings in hand and ready to go. But you could also take the loop that you cut out to the local hardware store and compare it to the right fitting as well. Most commonly houses have a 1 inch line. In my case it was one and a quarter. A little bit more common in newer builds but just depends on where you live. And who your builder is. But it’s all very doable.
@@FortKnoxCo I just found a small scrap piece of copper pipe that was on the floor near where the hookup is and it seems to be 3/4" ID. Off of one of the pipes, there seems to be a small ball type valve that can be turned open (for aux water...maybe like to wash cars, etc?). Anyway, I'm guessing that would denote it being the "out" side. Now to get a parts list and the courage to tackle this job. Thanks for your reply and help.
@@daves5445 no problem at all. 3/4” is even better and way more common. You can order a water softener with the 3/4” outlets too and make the whole install easier.
@@FortKnoxCo Thanks so much for the answers and ideas. I'll give them a call and see my options. Bravo on the great video and content!
Thank you so much for the very clear explanation on the install of this system, I am getting this system from AMAZON and I was really thinking on paying the $700 bucks a professional plumber would charge, but the 30 minutes of your video have just saved me that amount... 👍
100% ! that’s awesome to hear. Yeah it’s definitely something you can do yourself for sure. Happy I could be of help
Dude a plumber was going to charge me 700 lol
Not 700 sorry I meant 4000
@@anthonymcdonald4342 that a pretty big savings then if you do it yourself. Pays for the system itself
@@anthonymcdonald4342 oh wow, that’s a huge difference. Then your saving a ton of money. If plumbers are charging that much and people are paying for it I may be in the wrong business.
bought the same uniot by coincidence.. very good video and gave me the confidence to install myself
thanks
That’s awesome! Your very welcome!
Men thank you, i watch a lot of videos and this one is the best explained
I really appreciate that. Happy you found it helpful
Great Video! I thought you were cool before I saw the stash, now you've got my respect 😎
Haha. I appreciate that.
Thank you so much for the video. I have this extra sediment filter ( Fortitude V2 Series Triple Purpose Filter) along with the 64k grain softener which is making me think twice about doing it myself as it has to either run through before or after the softening . But other wise this video is super helpful.
Yes, this system came with the sediment particle filter as well. I didn’t install it in this video. But I did install it in another house. Usually they run it before the system so that it catches anything large coming from your city supply. But I’ve also seen people install it afterwards. In case anything from the filtering tank, makes its way through. Either way, it’s just another added layer of filtration and a big plus.
We bought this exact system and it was installed today. We love it already!
Nice! We love our too. Have no complaints and it works like a dream. Very good for the money as well.
How long did it take?
@@cleo5721 the full installation took about an hour or so. But each persons situation could differ depending on how their water loop is set up. That’s the hardest part really. The connection of the waters softener is easy.
@@FortKnoxCo thank you! I’m scared to do it by myself. But watched your video twice. I will try! 😃 my house has 2.5bath with 3 people living. Is your water softener too big for my house?
@@cleo5721 no it wouldn’t be too big. But you can also choose the size down. I think it’s the 45,000 grain? They have a couple models to choose from.
Bought the same unit. Helpful video. Thanks.
Awesome! Happy hear that. We still
Love our system. No complaints
Thanks for the video. Clear and helpful
Your very welcome.
Great video, thank you for taking the time to do this. I’m ordering mine today now that I have your guide to help me install it.
That awesome to hear! I figured maybe people would have some of the same questions I had when doing these inspections, so why not just film a full assembly and install and put it out there. I appreciate the kind words
Man oh man, tell me why I bought a soft water system last week for $5,300 and I should of waited until you made this video, hell I should of just had you come and install it for me 😡😡😤😤lol.
100% you should’ve had me do it. I got a delivery free to my door for under 700 bucks and it’s a lot better than the other ones I had bought in the past. They started at $5000 or so and if I felt like I was getting a deal I could get them down to close to 2000. But I also just installed a reverse osmosis system so if you haven’t done that hold off lol. I just drilled a hole through the courts and installed it last week and I have a video on it here soon.
@@FortKnoxCo Lol they will be here at 5 PM to install everything
Aww man

Great tutorial... Thank you!
Your very welcome. If you have any questions please ask. A few people have had the water level in the salt tank too high and there’s some easy remedies to fix it.
Thank you for the full explanation of this process it massively helped!!! At the very end you brought up something I may have messed up and wanted to double check if I need to redo the regen cycle. After starting it for the first time and it goes through the first process (bw?) I thought it meant to open both valves on the tank (was reading instructions not watching video at this point) so after a couple of minutes of it running with both valves open I saw the last bit of your video and ran back to shut off the valve to the house (out valve?) on top of the tank…. Then I sat back for a few more minutes and remembered I had installed bybass valves in case I needed to take remove the water softener and still need water to the house, needless to say I shut of the bybass’s as well but only a couple of minute remained on the bw cycle. I’m wondering if I need to restart the whole cycle now 🤦🏽♂️
Your very welcome. My guess is I’d think your fine. But I’d still get a hard water test kit and check to see the water hardness from an unsoftened location and then a softened location and make sure it’s softening the water sufficiently. Just to get piece of mind. When I did the water hardness test it just reconfirmed that it was working and I could sleep easy.
Awesome work. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you I appreciate that
Exactly what I needed ! ! !
Awesome. Happy I could be of help
This is exactly what I needed to see, I’m just scratching by my trying to find the main pipe line from the street😅
Awesome to hear. Yeah it’s always good to know where you main water shut off is into the house. Comes in handy for a lot of things.
Sir your videos help me a lot, thank you very much.❤❤❤
I’m happy to hear that! Thank you for finding my video and commenting. I really appreciate it 🤙🏼
Nice job man! Well done my friend.
Thank you I appreciate that
I installed my Aquasure Harmony with your step by step video. 🙏🏼 Thank you so much. I just have one question. Did you notice low water pressure? I'm having this problem now.
I didn’t notice any lower water pressure. But you may need to turn yours up if you’re having a reduction in pressure. Ours was pretty high to start with. You can do that with the water bell housing at your main water line Inlet. There’s a bolt/screw on top of your brass bell. Usually clockwise to increase pressure.
thanks for the detailed instruction!
Your welcome!
Just installed my AquaSure water softener and had to really lean on your video. I had the same issue as you with the orange locking clip not fully seating. It was leaking water when I opened the Inlet valve. Pulling the whole fitting out really saved me some head scratching. I used the Sharkbite supply lines connecting to 3/4 copper. Really hoping I wont regret that. Anyone out there had any issues with those? Thank you for putting this video together.
Awesome you got it done. Yeah there’s always a few troubleshooting along the way but we get it done. I’ve never had a problem with shark bites. That type of connection is commonly found in many places. Even on the water softener, lots of stuff nowadays has push in connections.
Rule of thumb I always say is if your going to use them in places that you can see or are exposed then go for it. You’ll know if it’s failing and can address it easily. Don’t use shark bite connections in places that are covered or concealed like inside walls and attics.
Thanks! Looking into this water softener. I bought the Whirlpool one that all sites say is great but it crapped out on me after 1 year and the customer service is full of crap. So I’m just going to replace it. This design looks like a better solution from what I’ve seen with the Whirlpool.
We love this one. Have no complaints at all. Very simple and I like that the tank and salt bin are separate. But overall it’s the best bang for your buck in my opinion.
Awesome video ! Thank you so much
Thank you! Happy to be of help.
Thank you. Went perfect
That’s great to hear!!
On 5:04 make sure you counter clockwise the gray little basket. Its a bit tricky but once it sets in the proper position you have to apply a little force until it snaps in. Then pull it straight up if it doesnt come off then you hit the spot!
Great advice!
Great video! When installing any line with a rubber gasket/seal, Teflon tape is not needed.

Yes, no matter what size the system. The hook up should almost be exactly the same.
Great instructions.
Thank you!
Great help thanks for the video 👍🏼

This is awesome, thanks man.
Your very welcome 🤙🏼
Sharkbites are like magic. Like any fitting I didn't trust it until I tried to remove it. You can hang a silverback gorilla off a properly seated sharkbite and it won't come off. You need to depress the release to get it off and then it pops off no problem. I'm sure they can fail, any fitting can fail, but they are the real deal.
I agree. Any fitting can fail. The shark bites are rated and approved fittings, I always just say install them where you can see them so if they ever leak you can catch it and replace it. But I’ve also seen “properly “ sweated copper joints in walls fail plenty of times…. Don’t know where the naysayers about copper sweated joints were on those ones. 🤷🏼♂️
awesome video!
Thank you!
Do I need to install a separate filter system? Or this unit does the filtration too?
Are you talking about a filtration system for drinking water? That would be a reverse osmosis system at your sink or desired location. This unit is a water softener and removes several harmful things but mainly it’s purpose is to reduce or remove the hardness of the water to extend the life of the house, fixtures, appliances and to be better for your hair & skin.
Great video man!!! Thank you for taking your time and explaining the whole installation process. I hate reading instructions so hou saved me sooo much time. Ill be installing one this weekend.
Only one question, do you fill the unit up before plugging in it and pressing cycle button?
No. Not on this model, it doesn’t ask you to refill the tank and then secure the top. With whole home systems that have a tank that has carbon mater inside they usually tell you to flush or fill the tank to “activate” the Charcoal. But with a water softener tank with resin inside it doesn’t require it.
Once you turn the system on and open up the water flow it will fill on its own
Great explainer video! I have the same system in my home. I had to reroute some plumbing so that I wasn't softening the water for my irrigation, but I have a pex system and a raised foundation so it wasn't that difficult. How often do you end up changing out the salt? Seems like mine is about every 1.5 - 2 months.
That’s about how often inhale to add a bag or two. Not too much. But it also depends on how often you have your system set to do the flush/refresh cycle.
Great job on the video. Our Aquasure is suppose to be here Monday. It's replacing a Waterboss that lasted about 9 years. I read a comment somewhere that a guy filled his toilets, sinks, dishwasher and faucets with the resin beads. I guess leaving both valves open during the initial flush would cause that?
It should cause the at because you have the plastic filter and I believe there’s another layer of partial filtration to prevent the resin from coming out.
I’ve seen systems that say for month and months with no use and then they were reinstalled at a new house or something and it blew out all the resin beads. Could have been from deteriorating internals? Not sure.
I’ve also seen the system be hooked up backwards and the water flowing the wrong way through the tank could cause this too.
That’s another reason I like installing a post particulate filter, the canister with the big cotton filter inside, before the water makes its way back into the home. That will catch anything that makes its way from the circuit water or from the filtration tanks.
Love you video, very helpful. But accident in this video I saw you have the other filter need to install. but, nothing mention about it. Please, make other videos With complete water filtering systems. Thank you very much.
Are you referring to the pre or post filter ? The canister that filters large particles from the water? This unit did come with one but I did not show that process of install. I have the process in another softener install video though. This video I was mainly focusing on just the softener unit. Because not everyone get a system with the particulate filter. And some like to install it before the unit and some prefer to install it after the unit.
Yes please, the more filters is water more clean. But I would like to know , the axtra filter when need install before or after water softener units. What’s the best. Thank you very much for your sharing. ❤️👍
I mean in this video at 2 minutes and 20 seconds frame. It’s showing the other sediment filter. That’s is my question. Thanh you very much.
@@phuctran2396 I like after your system. It can prevent anything from the street and from the filtering unit from getting into your home and water heater. Its can act as a layer of protection to catch anything that could cause bigger problems with your house plumbing
This looks like a good system, and you do a great job explaining the installation. I just don't understand the bypass valves. If I get a system like this, do I need to manually turn those bypass valves every time the system does the flush process?
No. It will cycle on its own. When it’s doing its regeneration cycle you just won’t get softened water. So you usually set the time to regenerate late at night or at a time you know most likely no one will be taking a shower. But you will still get water during the cycle if you were to turn on a faucet.
I’m not sure the full intention or use of having manual bypass valves. I get having shut offs. But a bypass? Not sure. Just to be able to isolate the system and still have water going through, but not sure why or when you would need to use that.
Awesome video
Thank you 🤙🏼
