    Hey Everyone,
    In today's video, we have our Ferrari Red BMW F80 M3 on the dyno to put to the test how much power the Eventuri Intake really makes! As we said before, we want to be 100% honest with our testing. In this video, we will be doing 3 baseline runs and we will be averaging them together. Then, we will be doing 3 more runs with the intake installed. Most people buy intakes for looks and the incredible sound and they know that there are typically minimal gains, so most of you won't be surprised by the results.

    It would be interesting to see how hp and torque change when you combine mods. Let’s say an intake by itself nets 11hp gain, exhaust by itself nets 10hp gain, combined do they net 21hp gain? Less? more? Most people don’t stop at one mod, so when do the diminishing returns kick in 🤔

  • @Tacoexplorer
    @Tacoexplorer Před 3 lety +8

    You need to Dyno the AA midpipe with stock exhaust. Lots of controversy on bimmerpost. Half say it robs and gives no power and other half says it gives some increase in power. Need to do a proper dyno on the AA single mid pipe!

    I swapped my open air intake back to the stock box with a new itg panel filter and silicon intake hose which deletes the res. I had an AP intake and although I miss the crazy turbo spool and dump sound, my car was losing power in the dyno results and techs reported temps where a lot higher due to heat soak. It's a trade-off you have to accept if you want noise.

    I really appreciate this comparison! But would love to see the difference between just a simple BMC filter swap and charcoal filters removed vs Eventuri. I think the difference will be even less noticeable. Not saying Eventuri isn’t good, just think even that difference shown is still slightly inflated. But this is a great comparison overall great work!

    Should have closed the hood to see how the airflow is affected in the air intake. That's more accurate for this test.
    Is there a tune or stock ecu?
    11hp at wheels is equivalent to about 15hp at crank?

    I’ve run multiple CAI on my F80 over the years and ended up with my stock intake with drop in filters. Intake temps stay lower on average with the stock system. Currently installing Ps2+ turbos and still trying to maintain stock airbox. We will see how it goes.

    • @MikeyG003
      @MikeyG003 Před rokem

      How’d it go? Recall reading a thread about a guy who cut holes into stock air box to increase airflow in and made some air channeling to those holes. Ended up performing better than stock

  • @corsamode8202
    @corsamode8202 Před 3 lety

    Hey, it would be a fair test if you were to run the stock intake and take the car on a drive and keep track of the intake air temperature. Then do the same with the aftermarket intake and monitor the intake temperature.
    That’s where the big difference is. You’re gonna be sucking all the hot air from the engine bay with that aftermarket intake. Would definitely do the k&n drop in air filters and use the oem air box.

  • @aaronbearchi
    @aaronbearchi Před 3 lety +7

    Wow, that was much better than I expected - it's not a cheap intake, but at least it's not just a pretty piece of art (and wow is it pretty!). I know one of the complaints about various intakes is the open vs closed box design - it looks like this is kind of a hybrid, directing air from outside into an otherwise open element without any kind of sealing away from engine heat under the hood?

    Great looking and sounding intake but the price is rediculous. Like other people said stock with aftermarket filters is really your best bet. I went with Dinan only because I git it used for a good deal, if not for that I would have just stuck with stock.
    The guys that buy these cheap under the good intakes may have some good sound but I guarantee they're losing HP suckling all that hot air in.

    It’s the scoops that make the difference because the addition of the scoops direct way more air into the intakes. Without scoops, it would be like a 4-5 HP difference. All intakes are the same, scoops are severely underrated for these cars. Did you take off the mesh part that you put the scoop over?
