Its funny that Miguel is known as the "not funny" Spiderman but his after credits scene in the first movie and his intro scene in Across were very funny.
Yeah might be the tragic events that happened after the guilt made him go almost stone cold but there's still good in his heart but also fear of losing everything
He's a humorous character, but he himself isnt "funny." All the other spideys crack jokes and have a certain air to them, while miguel cant do that. The humor comes from the way people around him interact with him + the way the world responds to him
That’s before he basically collapsed a whole universe tbf 😂
@@jeixsdaier9265The remontada arc of him for the next movie will slaps icl
He's got that unintentional comedy
People tend to forget that comic Miguel is hella funny, just... When he's not in costume. One of my favorite quotes of his is Lylla telling him that his workplace called because he's late and he replies "tell 'em I died".
Miguel is kinda funny. Sometimes he answers When Gwen asked him if the watch could travel to any dimension, he said "It's much cooler than a watch". When miles also called the web of life the "spiderverse" he said "that's lame". He says some funny things without even realizing it.
Miguel seems like he’s trying to curb it and be serious but he still falls into being funny, like when lyla dogged on him for calling in backup.
He has the sarcastic, sassy dry humour that can be swept away (as it does when he constantly admits to being spiderman I'm the comics but no one believes or listens to him) or can be taken as funny when people actually listen to what he says
He's funny in the sense that he takes himself too serious. Like in the after credits scene of Into the Sipderverse with Lyla. Or how in the comics he told his mom he's spiderman and she laughed. He very much doesn't try to be funny.
@@michelledavo7055That reminds me of when he was in 2014 and he told this girl that he was from the future because he knew she wouldn't believe him.
They actually asked Paviter's VA about proper Indian culture and let him explain it so they could make Mambattan and the character as authentic as possible.
Is he the the same guy that was the taxi driver in Deadpool?

I haven't seen anyone saying this, but I think it's cool that the voice actors look like the people they're playing
@@IGoByMhe looks like miles lmao. look at him in dope
Hailee does not look like gwen
@@mangolollipop_i think they mean that they all kinda have a like-ness, yknow? like they don’t look identical to their character necessarily, but you can kinda see the similarities and charm that both hailee and gwen have.
I mean what the voice actors looks like doesn't really matter in animation both it's an added benefit
They do it on purpose so that the voice translates to the character better. The way our brains work it makes the voices more believable. For instance they based Miles look on Shemeik's character in Dope, which is how he came to be miles' voice actor. They got used to seeing and hearing him as Miles.

The voice acting in the film was amazing. Didn't really expect Oscar to be that good too.

Oscar Issac is such a goat. I wish Miguel had time to actually do goated stuff in the movie
I’m hoping he gets some focus like Gwen did in Across, especially considering I can see him having a somewhat redemptive arc after being made an antagonist in Across even though he’s still a hero and has an understandable and justified motivation
@@zacharypadron783 Miguel was always the most unique Spiderman. He does it differently than Peter (in most mediums) and Miles, while they stick to their own morals and individuality, Miguel throws those ideas aside when he needs to. His ability to cast aside morals and individuality ironically makes him the most individual and different Spiderman (and probably the best "superhero" out of them all)
While Miles struggled on how to become Spiderman, Miguel struggles to understand what being Spiderman really means. Touching on that in the next movie would make for an amazing story
@@zacharypadron783uhuh right perfectly said
@@Luis-kv8zcyes perfect
ik u posted this 4 months ago but i wanted to add on (not trying to argue, just wanting to discuss! :)).
i personally think the thing that makes someone a good 'superhero' is NOT their 'ability to cast aside morals.' i think it's actually much harder to stick to those morals and ideals that spider-people tend to have than it is to just throw them to the wayside when times seem uncertain/bad/scary/dark/upsetting/infuriating/etc.
i'm not saying miguel isn't compelling (he is. very much so. i think the compelling part of his character is his drive to 'fix.' to bear the weight of his moral debt, repair anomalies, make sure the canon stays intact and the way it 'should be'... his ideals remain the same as many spider-people. bearing the 'great responsibility' of saving everyone and fixing everything) but the standard for a 'hero' or a 'good guy' is mostly upright morality, that is stuck to (in superhero media and the public eye).
the movie is so good bc there r all these conflicting ideas about morality and justice and repair and damage... what makes someone a 'good guy'? what makes someone a 'bad guy'? what makes someone a 'hero'? what makes someone 'spider-man'?
i think that the movie is putting forth the themes of exploring what it means to be spider-man, but miguel seems actually pretty set in his ways as to what being spider-man means (which is... following the canon, fixing your mistakes, utilitarian-ish ideals, etc.).
i believe personally that maybe it's the opposite of what you said? i think miles learnt that lesson of how to 'become' spider-man in the first movie, while in the second he was very certain of himself as spider-man (even when told and presented with evidence that he wasn't or wasn't supposed to be). and now HE is on the journey to find out what it means to be spider-man. is it sticking to the canon, to the standard set by averages and past events? or is it forging a new path, making a new story?
imo i find miles' 'side' more compelling. because anyone with any story and any set of events in their life can be spider-man. it really reinforces the idea that anyone can wear the mask (big big part of spider-man lore/canon)
sorry for the ramble. pls feel free to reply! i'd love to keep this going.
Miguel is funny and does drop jokes a lot, he just has a type or dry, sarcastic sassy humour that can be swept away in the conversation or if listened to can make you laugh.
In comics he drops so many lines saying how he's spiderman but no one believes or listens to him which makes it funny, he also calls people he doesn't like out on things to embarrass or piss off😂
Wait... Why is that actually a 4D chess move regarding a secret identity 😂😂?
@@spaghetto9836 Yes. In the 2010s comics when he was stuck in the modern world he straight up told someone he was from the future because he knew she wouldn't believe it.
To be fair though, he actually tried to convince his mother he was Spider-Man, even showing her his talons, and she just laughed at him saying she was offended he'd compare himself to Spider-Man, but was also happy he was trying to impress her.
I honestly feel like he'd be more convincing if he just show off his ass since so many people immediately notice it (and with Rick Leonardi's art it's easy to see why.)

Of course they let you improvise, I love that lol, your improvising is probably what made me love spiderpunk so much. Literally him and Indian spiderman are 2 of my favorite characters(And also spider dad, and..Miles..And...Gwen....And Miguel..And the movie)
Was wondering who voiced Hobie, my mind immediately went to Skepta for some reason

This man Oscar Isaac playing multiple Marvel characters 😂
He also played apocalypse in X-Men
From cab driver, to Spider-Man
A piece of depth I love about Miguel is that he's serious and doesn't really tell jokes much, but he has a good *sense of humor* he smirks and ribs people and lets himself be the butt of everyone else's joke, but he's not a humorless dick.
“She doesn’t have a mask-“
*Squints closely at the apparel that obstructs 1/3 of her face*

She probably thinks they’re yellow tinted glasses. Its a mask.
I think the point is that she’s not hiding her identity very well
I think she means her eyes are shown. No other spider person has that.
@@EE-sw3uh The way you made it sound more like a demerit makes it _waaaaay_ funnier in context.
In a shock reveal, transparent goggles are not the same as an opaque a mask that covers 100% of your face - and does not obscure your identity from strangers.
Therefore it is safe to assume that she is not hiding her identity in her home dimension.

This movie was so good. Amazing attention to detail with the animation. Such an artistic and beautiful expression of American classic with a new story.

Shes an avatar tho
Jake Johnson is hilarious. I would recognize the shit out of him. All day son! 😂
they casted it so well
The voice of Gwen she is exactly like Gwen
Love all of their voices ❤
dude their voices are so iconic
So big question...
DOES DEADPOOL KNOW THAT HIS UBER DRIVER IS SPIDERMAN IN DISGUISE ??!
This movie has such a diverse cast
Sure, but what exactly was the point of race swapping Jessica Drew? All the other characters were accurate to the comics except for her. It felt more like pandering than showing off the theme that Spiderman is universal. Shit, they even went for the poorly received pregnancy bit. It's like they hated Jessica Drew or something.
@@flysoup3607 well the race change is an issue with most of Hollywood reboots and reimaginings nowadays but why do you have to have such a stick up your ass about it?
@@flysoup3607is their a problem with that though? Their not trying to be completely accurate to the comics?
@@flysoup3607
They wanted to have even more diversity, while still keeping the mainstream character (basically marketing).
They basically just took 2 characters and merged them into the one we see in the Movie.
To be more precise:
- Valerie, aka the original Spider-Woman from 1974
- Jessica Drew, the Spider-Woman everyone knows
The character hardly does anything in the Movie, and could be replaced by either Miguel or Lyla, so at least it didn't have much impact.
@@flysoup3607she’s actually a combination of two characters from the comments, Jessica Drew and Valerie. Valerie is a black Spider-Woman! Hope this helps
I love how they allowed the actors to add their own spins to the characters to make it more authentic
The animation gets a lot of praise, and rightly so, but man we gotta give props to the voice acting too, it’s phenomenal.
Dopender from Deadpool is the Indian Spider-Man
The voice actor for Jessica Drew saying bringing the history of the comics when she's white in the comics is hilarious
Because Jessica Drew isn't the original Spider-Woman.
There was one in the Comics in 1974, called Valerie.
They just combined both characters.
The character was just forgotten about, and then they introduced Jessica Drew.
That's what she meant.

Peter b parkers voice is iconic 😂
Miguel is hella funny. Just not like other spidermans. He usually make his jokes with a dead face
Idk how to explain but its so refreshing to see voice actors use their normal voice and dont change it one bit! Every single actor sounds exactly like the character with no effort. Since I watch quite some cartoons,I was used to the actors changing their voices a bit. Nevertheless they did an amazing job :)
How did I not notice that Spider-Man India was Dopinder.
4:30 THAT WHAT IM SAYINGGGG i’ve been thinking abt this for like 2-4 years now like it’s always reminded me or vivienne westwood (plus her long finger ring thing also reminds me of an irl vivienne westwood ring)
I wouldn’t call Miguel “not funny” more so he’s the most serious Spider-Man out there. He still has comedic timing down to a T
I love how every voice actor looks like their character
It's kind of wild how you could have cast all of them for a live action adaptation and it would just work...
“Jessica Drew is the only Spider-Man who exposes their identity” see also:
Hobie: killed the trump-inspired President Osborne and took his own mask off after literally crushing Osborne’s skull in with a guitar.
Peter (Back in Black): threatened to merc all of kingpin’s mafia and him if they cross him or his loved ones again, specifically pointing out that in that moment he would be killing kingpin as Peter, not as Spider-Man.
MJ (Renew Your Vows): fights crime alongside her spider-husband and spider-daughter, all while wearing her fire-red hair in a ballet-bun and a similar mask to Jessica Drew’s glasses.
Andrew Garfield: Gwen yells his name once and half the city gets yeeted to the mcu bc they know who he is in No Way Home
All these actors could play the live action versions of the characters they voice
that guy sounds just like spiderman
I feel like spider woman (tell the the actual name) glasses are just toned a bit so we can see her eyes and emotion but that doesn’t help at all I just felt alward
Why do I love all these ppl 😍😍😍😍😍 they have literally gave me joy at a point in time in my life (besides Gwen actress) but she’s hilarious too soooo
one thing i love about Hailee and Oscar is that both of their marvel characters are from the same universe.
Like, Gwen and Miguel are from the spider-verse
And we have Hawkeye and MoonKnight in the MCU
Oscar Isaac is as fine as his character damn
bro hearing miles’ voice actor and seeing his face is surreal
Oscar should be placed as one of the Marvel legends now, dude’s playing three Marvel characters now and Poe Dameron comics was released by Marvel
So thats why deadpool loves him so much cause he knows he's a spiderman in another universe
gwen superiority
Homie if I saw Jake Johnson I'd be like, "I just met Nick Miller!!!!" He is a great Spiderman but I loved him in New girl
