- The Changan CS55 Plus Luxe Brings The Thunder! [Car Review]
The 2023 Changan CS55 Plus Luxe has arrived on Philippine shores, and we take it out on a 3-day road trip from Calamba Laguna to Baguio City. In this Filipino car review, we take the 2022 Changan CS55 Plus Luxe out on a road trip to see how it performs in challenging conditions. The 2023 Changan CS55 Plus Luxe is the top-spec variant here in the country. The 2023 Changan CS 55 Plus Luxe looks like a smaller Changan Uni-K, which may also arrive here in the Philippines. The 2023 Changan CS 55 Plus goes head to head against other value compact crossovers like the Ford Territory, the MG HS Trophy, and the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. However, the Changan CS55 Plus Luxe is now the most powerful value compact crossover below 1.5M pesos, beating even the Geely Coolray in terms of power output.

I might get CS55+ Thank you Raygan for a superb review on this 🙌💯☺️
yown lumabas din yung hinihintay kong review. :)
Sir Reygan, you mentioned ambient lighting. How do you turn it on or activate it? I believe it’s the stem-like lighting in the front of the passenger side just above the glove box.
Thanks for this review Reygan... May i ask u about the transmission is it same level of the geely coolray in terms of smoothness going throughout Baguio?
Geely DCTs are smoother...
Why it does not have auto hold? In inclined have you always press the break to hold the vehicle. Thanks
Hi Sir Reygan, i torn between
GAC GS4 VS CHANGAN CS55 HYPE. which do you recommend?
Hi Sir Reygan, question lng. If youbremove Adas ng cs55 plus luxe, alin po ang pipiliin nyo between this and tiggo 7 pro? This will help me decide kung alin pipiliin. Thank you!
Wow Changan is superb having nice car
Great Review!
Thanks bro! Love the hoodie! 😁
Hello sir SoJoo and Sir Reygan, this (with or without ADAS) or tiggo 7 pro? Thsnk you in advance?
Would you recommend this over your chery tiggo 7 pro?
Thanks for a good review. It's a nice car, but I would rather have CS 35 Plus: It looks cuter with the functionality at a more affordable price.
CS35+ is smaller and hindi as smooth ang driving experience. Hindi din ganun kaganda yung ride comfort compared to CS75 and CS55
I also dig the cs35. Mas maporma talaga, and might give a better driving experience. It rides well but the 45series tires are just too thin for me, lalo na kung mahilig ka sa long rides. Damang dama mo imperfections ng kalsada.
Just the review ive been waiting for, since i was about to get the 35.
Dude... does it come with a tonneau cover for the ube jams? 😅
No tonneau though...
Thanks dude. I hope may provision for it
How’s the Fuel consumption, sir?
Hi. Fuel consumption pls?
Any feedback on lane keep assist and AEB? Abrupt and scary daw yung lane keep assist and yung AEB naman ay parang kumokontra sa overtaking?
You can disable it sa infotainment
boss, pa review ng Lite variant
Great review Reygan! Im considering getting an MG HS Trophy. Is Changan CS55 a better car to get? Your honest opinion is appreciated. Thanks much!
MG has horrible customer service. Ang dami nagcocomplain sa FB Groups. Even yun mga agents di alam binebenta nila.
Changan, Geely, and Chery are much better.
This car has a lot of promise.
@@ReygansRides Hi Sir, CS55 or Tiggo 7 pro?
Wow!
Impressive vehicle from changan especially that it looks like audi’s rsq8
Dudeeee 🤟😁🤟
I think it has an autohold feature. It’s even stated in the brochure of the CS55 plus. I believe it’s Electronic parking brake with autohold feature. It gets activated when you’re in a complete halt and you’re on the brakes for a given amount of time. It should appear on the dash once it’s activated.
We didn't experience it in the 3 days we drove the car. Believe me, we looked hard for it and it wasn't there.
@@ReygansRides thank you for answering sir. One agent told me that it should come in the next software update this December po. Maybe when you get to review another unit soon, you’ll find it there.
It is now available on all Feb release units.
It’s already in the infotainment system
Reliability and aftersales?
Is it true that this model doesnt have autohold feature? Also, my father bought cs75 plus a few months back and there was a leak on the heater core system. No stock parts here but they managed to fix it within 4 days including the shipping from china.
No autohold... bunmer for me.
@@ReygansRides Hi Sir, I watched Mr. SoJoo's quick test drive of this car and one of the agent that he's with during the drive said that there will be an update to include the autohold function. The problem is that the agent did not elaborate if it would be a system/software update or a hardware one since I don't see any autohold button around the center console of this vehicle. My wild guess is that they will incorporate/integrate it with the E parking brake button.
If you have any updates/news, kindly let us now sir.
once you get used to autohold, not having it will be a deal breaker!
It has autohold. Nasa Infotainment system po😊
Hi sir! I think if you turn off the AEB, the jerkiness will be minimized. Maybe the reason why there is a delay when you floor it when trying to pass another car is because the AEB is detecting something in front so it takes a while for it to analyze that your actually trying to pass another car. Also, I believe you can set the AEB to early, medium or late.. Again, this is what I think. Maybe you should try it out when you’re given the chance to properly review the car.
I turned off vehicle stability control which turns off traction control amd AEB. Transmission response improved a little bit but not by much. It is really the transmission tuning.
@@ReygansRides Thank you for providing your feedback sir. Do you think with some future software updates, the transmission will improve? Do you have any idea if they will offer software updates moving forward?
Fuel consumption please?
When will the pick up arrive here?
The front fascia of this car has a little bit inspired from the Peugeot 3008 and 5008
more so the steering wheel. 😁
@@ReygansRides oh yeah that too sir Rey! you guys are awesome in this vid. So how is this car sir Rey compared to the Geely Coolray SE and the Peugeot 3008? Hope you can make a 3-way comparo of these great cars sir
Wow
Hay ang hirap dati Honda and Mitsubishi
Brv and expander crossover
After seeing this Chinese vehicle naawa ako sa cabin BRV
Same dilema, now torm between Japanese cars vs chinese cars
Peugeot-style steering wheel 😮 nice
Would this take the crown in your list of top drives under 1.5M?
🤔🤔 let's see in the year end RR Vehicle Choice awards. 😁
I would get this car in a heartbeat if only Changan PH's after sales service had a good long dependable track record.
Same guys behind Hyundai PH before.
changan’s track record is solid in china. and only time can tell sir if their aftersales is good. they’re relatively new and i dont know if these are the guys from HARI who failed terribly that’s currently managing Changan. but every brand deserves a chance. their warranty too is very good. one of the best in the industry.
@@marcs4 If HARI is behind Changan PH then it's not a vote of confidence. They're the reason why I never bought a Hyundai again.
The afterservice is non existent. Ive been trying to book my CS95 in for a service for 3 only to be told the parts are not available lol. What are we talking here, a few filters for god sake. Thank christ there's no aerospace industry in the Philippines
Were there interior rattles and creaks in the car?
None. Solidly built.
Changan and gac solidly built for that. But other brands suffer from that like MG
It would have been better if they just update cs 75. And keep that price.
sabi ng ibang ngreview meron daw delay sa transmission...ano po masasabi nyo?...hindi ba sya deal breaker?...thanks
All DCT transmission has a delay pero Changan has one of the better DCT. Compared sa Chery and MG, malala ang delay nila.
I own a CS75 and same lang daw transmission nito sa CS55. Barely noticed any delay
I think normal lng siya tlga delay sa mga DCT.. I own CS35 and I can only say na Ang ganda Ng performance and legit heat turner tlga mga CS cars ni changan 😅
@@Anon-xw6wb boss ikaw ba mismo si reygan"s ride?..matanong lang wag mo lang masamain..thanks
Depends on the brand and model. The shifts are much quicker than ATs but a bit jerky in some European brands.
How many km per L of petrol?
7 ltrs per km city drive (eco)
12 ltrs per km hi way (eco, maintain lang ang takbo)
actual po yan....
@@aladdinabdula5970 how about po sa normal mode nasubukan mo ba ilang km/l?
@@aladdinabdula5970 mas matipid pa mazda 3 2.0 2018 model
Carplay yes but AA no? Sheesh! Good thing a carlinkit will fix that. And it does have dual exhaust.
5:52 Covid?
My 1.3 Avanza can climb up Baguio without problem... what more Changan CS55 with 300nm 🤣🤣🤣
Yes lets see if you will overtake a 20kph truck in marcos highway comfortably and condfidently or you will fall inline. For new drivers thats dangerous no power on tap. Even if you managed to overtake you will stress cars engine LoL. Been there
I was putting my money down on the CS35+ and now this?
This is pricier though...
Im torn too
Wrong curb weight info please make correction it has only 1,460kg
The 1800kg is gross vehicle weight
Thanks. it's still a heavy car compared to peers.
@@ReygansRides Dahil po sa moonroof, turbo at additional safety and features kaya may onti bigat compare sa iba..
Hahaa pag konyo ang tawag glass of botttled water 😅
Well, Geely coolray GT version still can smoked the CS55 hehe
It’s not real leather!
Don't buy a Changan. I own one and the build quality is very poor.I would and should have got a Toyota which is always going to be in demand and have spare parts available. I'm now told there are only 2 Changan service centre's now in Luzon. Very difficult to sell and has lost a lot of money
stop copying and pasting this type of comment. U have offended them :/
@@CafewithMichael_Vlogs Changan deserve to be named and shamed. The after service is non existent. Ive been trying to book my CS95 in for a service for 3 only to be told the parts are not available lol. What are we talking here, a few filters for god sake. Thank christ there's no aerospace industry in the Philippines. If I can put one person off buying a Changan I will have saved that one person a lot of grief and money.
