After following up on this case, apparently this guy was the one who stole the purse. That lady was murdered because of his lie, and he helped facilitate it. He deserves more than 15 years, he could have stopped this at any point by saying he “found” the missing purse. RIP.
from the start I believed it was an "inside job". This sort of thing happens all the time with kids brought up in difficult or bad circumstances, they seize any opportunity to get their hands on anybody's cash if they can.

I never knew all of the circumstances behind all this but now I'm really tripping because this is clown is the one who stole the money. He is even more evil than his aunt because he sat up and helped her murder an innocent woman over money he stole. That's crazy!!

Looked into this a bit more and at trial *it was alleged the purse was actually stolen by this kid.* If that's true, the 15 year sentence and second degree murder* plea make _a lot_ more sense. He could've stopped everything if he'd simply given it back. Instead he provided half-assed help to his aunt, while she tortured and killed an innocent person over the course of around 6 hours.
*As a direct result of his theft, a completely innocent person was killed.
When he was talking about how the lady was asking him if he'd really think she would do something like that, I immediately suspected this guy took it himself. Especially since he knew how much money was in it too.
I KNEW one of the kids did it without having to even research about it!! And makes even more sense as to why it's him who did it with how he so eager to tell it all thinking it would clear him!!!!!

(Have an uncle who forgot he left a gun under the seat of my dad's pickup. They went to Denny's after shooting at the range and rather than taking it in, he hid it from view. Found it four years later after dad sold the truck, and he had spent the entire time accusing his daughter of stealing it. Wondered if something similar happened to the purse.)

Pretty much the sound in every Interrogation. Like 9 out of 10 are absolutely horrendous for sound. What the hell is up with that. Can't the cops afford better equipment? You would thing of all places to have "top of the line" sound would be in an interrogation room. I don't get it

I first thought that maybe this guy was actually forced to participate but when he admitted to going to the barber shop instead of the police station I changed my mind.
Listening to his lies, it's evident he was a willing participant. He had multiple opportunities to escape with the lady in his version of events, but not only did he not do that but he assisted with entrapping her on multiple occasions.
one one of those things, Im sure it wasnt his plan, but he could of done so much more to stop it if he actually cared.

@@TheVioletBunny What's most important from the police perspective should be to collect enough information for a jury to convict. I know if I was a jury member, I'd be seriously pissed at the cops for having such crappy recordings; enough so it might skew my decision making. I, as a juror wouldn't tolerate this blatant act of sabotage. I would , as a juror, demand the sound be better, or CC'd, and if I couldn't hear a particular word, I'd make them continuously play it back until I actually could make it out myself. This would undoubtedly drive the court crazy, but sometimes it takes a hard lesson for someone to change what they're doing. Perhaps the judge might just insist the next case be recorded correctly. Because something has to be done about this, it can't continue regardless of what the cops want. People have to force the matter in order for it to get fixed, that's how things get done in a bureaucratic democracy.
Love watching these. It's so intriguing seeing inside the minds of the suspects.
Usually, I dont understand their reasoning for murder. It seems their brains are just wired differently. The only time I understand if the person has been abused and has a mental breakdown.

I know this family, I also know the family of the victim. Unfortunately for Quinton, he was reared up in a family full of criminals. Margaret is a few years older than I am, but I remember her and her brothers and all the ish they did as children. Quinton had not a chance of being surrounded by positive people… they stole, dealt drugs and spent most of all their lives behind bars…. I’m sure he didn’t know I was going to go that deep. They kept the body in the house until it started to stink!!!!! Then they removed it and placed Wenda in a shallow grave…. The way she killed this woman was HORRIBLE

He’s guilty of accessory but one thing people aren’t understanding is the mentality you develop when you’re raised around criminals. It’s imbued in you like a religion that you do not call the police, they’re the enemy. I could see myself witnessing a murder and being terrified to call anyone at all as a child. It took me a long time to understand how wrong this pattern of thought actually was because I had to reckon with the reality that everyone around me was a bad person or captive to the situation like me to some degree. That isn’t easy for a young adult, yet alone a child.
Agree 100%. My family wasn't necessarily criminal but drugs and alcohol were a staple. But everyone around me in my area was criminal and I had the mentality. Still do but if I saw an active shooter or a murder in progress I would call 911 unless it was my own relative
A person died as a consequence of a felony he committed. If you want to argue that stealing the money wasn't good enough to qualify then kidnapping will work. That's 2nd degree murder. Textbook.

"Do ya feel me?" - the young man was a good storyteller and the detective caught those moments when he "stretched" the truth that he did not participate. Was he really scared for his life? Wouldn't he have run out of the house and call police? That poor woman. Did they find the purse and or money? And what state is this? His speech/cadence/accent was fascinating.

You would think so but then when you take into account that his entire neighborhood knows who he is and his family resides there I can understand why it’s a difficult decision to just make. They absolutely 100% promised him no jail off camera in order to get him to talk.
The problem with saying “absolutely” is you can’t prove it. It’s possible but I think it was more so to the beginning when he asked if this would protect him and they said if you don’t have anything to go to jail for, you won’t.
yet I seriously doubt that. You simply can't know that. I don't see this dude making that mistake when he can clearly see already that this crim is dying to spill the beans. No need to give any guarantee of no jail time here.

Even if they did, which I don’t believe, the officer made it clear afterward, during this interrogation, that he wouldn’t go to jail IF there was no reason for him to. They did nothing wrong, and I can’t believe you think this thief and accessory to murder is the victim.

What a convoluted interview. It's amazing how much patience the officer had with that clown. Everyone had a role in the murder except him and he was a huge part in it. I call it the SQUIRREL defense or look over here. It puts the blame on someone else which prolongs the investigation. He's a complete POS.

This was difficult to understand with so many different people mentioned, the lightly different language patterns, etc. From my perspective, the dark-haired detective made it worse. He would ask a question, but then immediately ask a second, before he gave the suspect time to respond. I kept wishing he would stop interrupting. I began to think there was no real strategy to the questioning; that he would often just ask a question just whenever something came to mind, without listening to the previous answer. It could just be me, but I found it made following the story more confusing.

He tried to lessen his involvement. If he wasn’t really “holding her like that”, how did she get retrained? And how does he not actually hold/pull the belt around her neck? He wasn’t actually holding/pulling it, it would have come undone and his aunt would have feel backwards from her pulling in that direction. He helped a lot more than he is admitting. He also told on himself when he said, “she looked at me and said ‘your aunt thinks I stole her purse’ I just looked at her because I felt bad.. I didn’t have nothing to do with it.” Should have gotten way more time.

Edit: I made this comment based off the numerous different people who stated this to be true in the comment section. However I was unable to find a single thing confirming the allegation that he was the one who stole it.

@@CryHavocWarDog you know what I'm actually happy you asked that. I just seen countless different comments saying he was the one who stole it from numerous different people, so I simply ASSUMED it to be a known fact.
However after looking through all the court documents (not that its something I'd expect him to actually admit to in court) & everything else I could find I didn't come across a single mention about it being him who stole the purse.
Perhaps its something he admitted to after sentencing when he felt it didn't matter but if that were the case I would think that's something RTC likely would have included in the video because it makes it that much more shocking.
If there's one thing I hate about the internet its misinformation, & here I was parroting what other people said as if it was a known fact. I'm definitely going to have to be more cautious in the future & actually fact check before making such claims.
