Apparently for the chocolate bar twist they only signed the back of the box in a specific area which allows production to slip off and switch the â silver wrap â and move the gold bar around without having to make it noticeable. They also take the chocolate bars before the lip sync and hand it to them after the lip sync is done.
Trixie mentioned in one of her videos looking back at all stars that she took a sewing machine home to make the pink look she wore with that lime wig i believe. So maybe they let them take a sewing machine back to make a look if there was issues with one.
I've watched lots of your videos and I'm probably in the minority in my opinion here, but you're a stunning queen and equally so out of drag. You're also obviously extremely intelligent and creative. I think you'd do well to move away from gossip and drama relating to such a small/niche group of Queens and maybe try heading in a different direction with your content.
I realise that Drag Race has a huge following and it's pretty much a guaranteed way to drive people to your channel. I just feel like you have so much more to offer.

Based on Maddy's type of humor and showings outside of drag race it really seems like the producers wanted to make her look like the awkward straight guy experiencing gay culture for the first time...despite the fact that she's been doing drag as part of the club scene for years, including working with castmates like Daya. For all the bro jokes we make (and she's leaned into) its not like she's new to all this, and I think the fanbase lost sight of that behind the whole 'straight' thing. Probably doesn't help that she never got to show some of her best runways (chaps, mirror mirror, tutu much, etc.) because those prompts came after she was eliminated. She wasn't even the least experienced queen of the season, but you'd think she'd never been to pride with how the edit made her look at times!
I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of her jokes got cut because her kind of quick wit that we saw at the reunion or her social media wouldn't suit that awkward, odd duck narrative they were trying to sell for her.
Well you even saw in the 'trailer' challenge (forgot what it was actually called) and the Save A queen challenge that a lot of her jokes got cancelled in the final edit and she was given close to no credit for being the lead or one of the lead 'jokewriter/s' on her team.
Like Daya 'I'm Straight too!' got left in but the Maddy's bit about having gay parents and their disappointment in a straight son was the whole leadup to that joke.
@@MissMeSherbs 100%! It almost feels like production and casting saw "I'm straight" on her application and just assumed she'd be far more uncomfortable or awkward than she really was. And when she was a lot more comfortable and witty than expected, they couldn't bury her in the background completely without losing that whole straight storyline, so they just took out as much as possible and hoped fans wouldn't put it all together.

I'm sure she gets cut by production. They literally just cut out her part on the super teaser. One of the best jokes trow away and they show it on the episode, imagine how much stuff they just exclude from her.
They just weren't ready for the hetero person in drag storyline yet. Let's give it a year or two. For convenience sake. Maddy was actually fun... Sue me!!!

@@bittercup. I feel like she was super nervous! I think she'd do much better a second time around like a lot of queens do on All Stars. I've seen vids of her performing and she seems super fun as a lip syncer! I wouldn't call her an assassin, but I definitely think a lot of it was nerves, personally.
She also stole the majority of the designs for her looks from other queens/ designers
Given the Maddy we've seen since the show aired, I'm voting for "the show wanted to give her a background edit." It really felt like she was cast purely so they could say they had a straight queen and nothing more.

I met Bosco a few weeks ago and asked her about the chocolate bar and it's legitimacy, and she told me that there was a lawyer on set specifically for this reason because it is illegal to rig a game of chance. Gave me some chocolate for thought đ€Ł
Bob the Drag Queen has "Hard Ice" tattooed on her wrist, she said she got it after drag race cause she was the hardest queen to ice, theyd call hard ice n she'd just keep talking and talking. She's mentioned it in the episode she did with Priyanka & a couple others haha.
Re: Jorgeous being "born to do drag", I saw her at Drag Con this weekend, and she really does have crazy star quality. She literally sparkled, no sequins nor glitter needed. She was also so adorable, approachable, and really humble. A bunch of fans from her hometown flew in to see her, and she was blown away by the love and attention. Her two boyfriends were lovely as well, they seem a great team. She is going to go far - she also looked like a 16yr old Texican Audrey Hepburn, tiny and stunning in a long black dress w/up do.

It's astonishing that Willow was ready to quit drag if she wasn't cast on DR, but managed to win the whole thing. This is what "the drag gods has spoken" actually mean. She was destined to do more, share her story, humor, fashion, and drag style as a whole, thus she wasn't meant to quit.
I always took the Wiwwow Pill thing as another example of Rupaul getting some association stuck in his head that he canât let go. See also: IIIVYY WINTURRRZ, El Debarge, LaGuardia Newark Kennedy, London Paris Milan, etc. in fact itâs probably just a reference to some niche meme from the 80s everyone else forgot about.

I think what Willow meant is that with her current health state, if she doesn't get the kind of help that more money and exposure can provide her, she wouldn't be able to keep doing Drag properly. I hope I'm wrong because it's a sad thought.
I think this is it - and it's just the fact of it, living with disability. Sometimes it just ain't worth it, hitting the wall means hitting the wall and it's not like you can find help for that kind of thing - if Drag Race hadn't given her that windfall, that would have been sort of it.

@@danielleowens6443 I hope they don't force her to do a heavy dance number several times a day for Werk the World, seeing Yvie crying in pain over Werk the World horrified me because disabled queens should be allowed to perform in a way that doesn't aggravate their condition, but Werk the World doesn't seem to make any allowances. You can do performances that are sickening that aren't horrifically painful for a disabled queen like??
The entertainment industry is very ableist, just like most careers and fields. I am sadly not surprised, but Willow, as well as Yvie need to be accommodated and deserve to live a life with dignity as much as anyone else. I feel like Drag Race queens have long lost many of the more political origins/stances of drag, many statements are very corporate friendly, but I do not think itâs too late to bring this into question.
I thought she meant that she physically won't be capable of doing drag in a few years (look at lots of drag queens out there doing splits and shit. Most drag performances can't really be done sitting in a chair) So she doesn't have much time left.. I'm so happy she won. She totally deserved it.

I absolutely believe they cut a ton of Maddy's zingers... heck, we saw them do that in the challenges where she would come up with the jokes, they'd show her doing some of them in the filming and it'd just be cut from the challenge video so I fully believe they just cut a ton of her zingers from the full episode.
I think the sewing machine thing is completely plausible. I went to a design school and we would fight over certain machines in the lab cause they performed better than the others.
Exact same experience that I had getting my apparel design degree in college. Lol. Some of those old ass machines will absolutely sabotage you and those Singers in the workroom look at vintage as my momâs 1970s era Singer that I had to use in college at first to work on my project outside of the lab at home if need be lolololol.

Straight drag queens are actually pretty common in the UK, so I feel like it would work well here.
Correct me if I'm wrong... But Scaredy Cat is straight, so it does already work well in UK's Drag race. Scaredy having a girlfriend was not that big of a deal.

I find it crazy that Camden said about the Lipsync smackdown that they wanted to keep the songs surprise and all of that... Wouldn't be better TV if the queens were slaying the lipsyncs back and forth? The LSFYL is such a big moment in every episode and is a let down when they underperform.
Agreed, that and with the runways. No one can give their 100% if they're not given the right prompt (holy couture vs what you worship or mirrors VS reflective) and the order of the runways, I imagine a queen could even build some sort of story through her runways all season long if they knew the order instead of you know... Wearing underwear and a corset 4 times in a row

Bob said Naysha they filmed the season 8 promo after the first episode. And Naysha had to sit isolated from the rest of the cast during the promo filming. So Naysha was freshly eliminated yet had to pretend on camera âIâm Americaâs next drag superstar!â for Meet the Queens.
That's how they usually film it. There's a few stories - like after season 5 aired, Alaska commented on how professional Penny Tration was when she'd just been sent home, then had to show up, all smiles for the promo shoot, lol.
In fairness at least she did still get another chance at the crown after that haha
I feel like it was between Alyssa Hunter and Nicky Doll because they cap their "foreign" queens to 1 per season. That was my first thought, and we know our non-native English speaking queens get the short end of the stick often times

I LOVE THEM BOTH TO DEATH but one thing I will say about Kornbread and Victoria Scone is they were injured in normal expectations of Drag Race (an acting challenge and a lipsync). This is different than unlike Eureka, whose injury was the direct result of a physical Cheerleading challenge, and unlike Veronica Green, who's Covid Positive status posed a health risk to the other contestants (but not herself). An invitation to the following season would be nice, but maybe it's not given under *any* circumstance of injury.
I've always been confused about the chocolate bar thing... you can slip the chocolate bar out without opening the outer wrapper. So they definitely could have changed it without breaking the seal

I have the same machine they use on drag race, theyâre pretty idiot proof imo in terms of not outright breaking at the drop of a hat (speaking as someone who hadnât really touched a machine before getting it).
