Often, if it's funny, it's cut for time.
Thing is, at least with this skit, they would have had to put so much more effort into it as they would have had more dance moves to memorize and possibly more people coming in giving Aidy stuff. I think this skit was the perfect length but I agree with you that some of the other "Cut for Time" skits need to be longer
@@allisonavery7273 ^^yeah, "cut for time" means that they recorded this for dress rehearsal, but every week they make a few more sketches than will fit in the show's time slot, so whichever ones the powers-that-be decide were the least well-received, etc., don't get to go live. They do cut certain things out of even the sketches that do go to air, but "cut for time" means the entire sketch was cut from the show.

I liked Jordan Peele Obama impression, but I always felt he came across as too rigid and unhuman. I think Jay’s Obama impression is so good because he plays him with a bigger sense of humour.

doombuggy123 This is dress rehearsal. It’s cut for time in the final show, meaning they didn’t do it at all on Saturday. They make mistakes the day before and get it right on the night all the time.

OK! Edward is a very good actor, but he look like a average pussy in this sketch! Can't he sing? At least to pretend? Or dance? He fucked up the steps!
I really like this sketch but I can see why it was cut. There were moments where it didn't flow well, possibly due to the difficulty of a big musical number or insufficient rehearsal (likely both). It's especially obvious when Edward Norton is standing around not sure what to do at 4:48.
+Cinemaniac Jean They're all called "cut for time", but if they were better sketches, they'd be the ones in the show and something else would be cut. It only means they have a finite time to air on NBC and more sketches than time (in case they run fast and need to fill). So, +spaceye was right.
