I WAS watching TV in late 82, when i saw them on TV. I was 17 and playing guitar. When i saw them , i was in in a trance. I was totally floored. They looked different, sounded different than the bands of the day and bands i was into. Van Halen, AC DC, Rush, etc. Later that afternoon walked down to my local record store and found one copy of BUILT FOR SPEED. This was the type of music my parents grew up on! I even changed my clothes and hair, i loved their sound and style so much.

It's always the food that brings them back ;-) Going to England was an unexpectedly great move because they did find a producer like Dave Edmunds who was sympathetic to their style of music and technical enough to help them recreate and update that Rockabilly sound.

I played guitar with Dave Edmunds in a pub once. I knew the landlord and Dave was sitting at the bar having a quiet pint. Some guy was getting on Dave's nerves saying how rock stars are too precious (not about Dave, but about others who Dave has worked with) so the landlord offered us a guitar each to basically just drown the guy out, so we jammed for a bit and Dave said to me "you're not a bad player". That's my claim to fame. I didn't know a huge amount him at the time, I'm ashamed to say, but am astounded by what he's done. Had I known the full extent at the time then I wouldn't have played a note. My favourite band is the Beatles. My favourite guitar player is Jeff Beck. Dave's played with Jeff, Paul, George and Ringo and many many others.
