- Dick Clark interviews the Go Go's on American Bandstand. Belinda Carlisle introduces the rest of the band. Dick asks the drummer how long she has been playing and how long the band has been together. The guitarist Jane says she has only been playing guitar for 3 and a half years. They also talked about touring with the Rolling Stones, being an all girl band, their audience and their wish for the future.

They didn't "tour with the Stones" they opened for them once, at an impromptu show in a small arena in Rockford, Illinois.

Yes but the Go-Go’s are the ONLY all female band that wrote their own music and played instruments to hit #1. They still hold that record to this day

The 80s were the BEST times of my life. And I'm so glad I saw soooo many concerts . From the Go Go's to Van Halen to Depeche Mode to Elvis Costello 😊 days !!!
They struck big in the 80's but they were more of a retro 60's style band.

They were young and maybe she decided to join and learn to play as she wrote a lot of the songs. One of the original guitarists stole someone’s purse at a gig. Yeah not so good

Dick Clark has the worst interviews---always mentioning they don't have enough time and wasting what time they do have with trite questions. I remember him wasting it with Pink Floyd by asking how they liked American hamburgers.
Dick Clark was such a narcissistic dolt, he ruins nearly every "interview" trying to remain the center of attention.
The GoGos were basically a bubble gum LA group who actually thought they were a punk band, which is quite laughable that their perspective was more wishful than realistic. Delusion is huge amongst Hollywood films too, they go hand in hand trying to capture the other raw talent out there, but miss the mark and don’t get the essence. The GoGos mostly had a sound because of Jane, and that’s it. The wardrobe and hair were weak. They tried at least. I liked the songs, but it’s important to own being a bubblegum band instead of actually thinking ur The Sex Pistols and saying ur a punk band when ur far from it. 😢
