It's a classic example of the Noodle Incident trope.
All I know so far (and I’m probably forgetting somethings) is this:
1) it involved a ship getting boxed in
2) it involved burying someone/something in a hole
3) it involved a big red ball
4) people died

Fun fact:
Notice that everyone went out the same way they died/were defeated:
P) Zarbon and Recoome got their "guts rearranged"
E)Raditz got hit in the chest by an attack he couldn't block
R) Dodoria got "blasted" away
F)Guldo went out unceremoniously not even seeing the attack that got him
E) Frieza got taken out by his own move
C) Cell got eliminated the first time, came back and then go eliminated a second time
T) Guru won and *technically* died on his own terms both in the actual series and in the Abridged
Frieza wasn't killed by his own move, though; he was cut in half and then cremated.
@@The_One_In_Black He was pretty well defeated by his own Kienzan; sure, he wasn't dead, but the fight was definitely over at that point.
Also Raditz was a double kill only with Dodoria instead of Goku.
Plus Recoome even ends up in the same pose after he's eliminated; face-down, ass-up with no dignity

Christopher Ayres was Frieza's voice actor in the English dub for DBZ Kai moving forward. Those who watched DBZ Kai instead of the OG DBZ will be more familiar with his voice for Frieza. Hes a legend and even now hes still missed. Also the callback Jiece mentioned is referring to DBZA ep 20
I think Cell keeping the identity of Trunks a secret is both him taking the high road and forcing Freeza (I hope I spelt it right) to ‘live’ a lie.

"Freeza...I have literally never lied." I love how that's actually true.
When Raditz throws the ball Jeice says “Keep your eye on it, Burtie.” This is a reference to Raditz’s catchphrase “Keep your eye on the birdie!” from the first 3 episodes of DBZ Abridged.
Frieza's forms are power limiters rather than transformations, because he was born so strong. A big theme of his character is in fact that he refused to grow in any way since he never even trained once in his life.

My first time watching this , I missed the "Keep your eyes on it Burtie" joke. It's so nicely done.
13:37 You are right. That was NOT a robot clone of Freezer. That was Freezer with mechanical augmentations. There was a whole bit after the end credits of episode 30, that didnt make it in the CZcams version. Where they find Freezers torso floating in space, barely living as he doesnt need to breathe in space and Freezer is stupidly durable. And they rebuild him and they make the scene like when Darth Vader is born.

Cell has literally never lied once in all of Abridged.
Edit: Jeice's line "keep your eye on it, Burtie" when Raditz has the ball is also a dub reference, where Raditz says "keep your eye on the birdie" before launching his signature double energy wave attack.
What about when he tried to convince 18 with that fake 17 stuff?

3:58 Reference to Raditz's signature attack in one of the dubs: "Keep your eye on the birdy."
Fun fact: the second voice actor for Raditz in the abridged series was adamant about keeping that one line in the show. So much so, they made a joke in episode one where the first VA was about to say the actual name of the attack "Double Sunday," and the second VA fought him for the mic to say the "keep your eye on the birdy" line.
Said VAs were Lanipator (voice for Krillin, Piccolo, and Vegeta) and Vegeta(numbers here, but can't remember which ones) who also did Yamcha, Kami, and I think Master Roshi at first.

Christopher Ayers has been the voice for Frieza since 2010 so R.I.P.
Btw the speedy blue Guy? His Voice Actor actually hates voicing him, cause its pretty uncomfortable. So his Voice does indeed kill him, not just in the Episode.

I love how cell and raditz are slowly becoming bros. If you enjoy these episodes then I highly recommend devilartimus bc he makes videos with cell and a bunch of other characters

Man I forgot this episode came out not long after Chris died, his Frieza is still some of the best performances I've heard in a long long time.
There's also a really subtle joke here about how they get eliminated, most of them get taken out the same way they died, Recoome getting taken out by the punch (dodgeball) to the stomach, Raditz getting hit in the chest, Dodria's explosion pose is the same as when she was killed by Vegeta. Guldo's really the only one who gets taken out differently
Guldo was hit in the head, referencing him being beheaded by Vegeta.,

I love how in this episode Guildo is just casually stopping time and doing things in the background without anyone noticing.
There's a good reason Dodoria missed... but I'll leave that surprise for the series to answer.

3:59 Raditz throws the ball like his attack that he was going to do to Piccolo when he arrived at Earth. In DBZA there was this whole bird about the Voice Actors fighting to either call it Double Sunday, or Keep your eye on the bird.
4:14 Dodoria throws the ball like one of her attacks against Vegeta, I think.
5:44 Reecome gets taken out almost in the same way as Goku takes him out, in one hit to his stomach. Also has the same death pose. Well, Goku didnt really kill him, Vegeta did.
6:15 Dodoria used her Mouth blast, like how she took out Bardock's team.
7:05 Raditz gets hit like when Gohan headbutts him. Dodoria gets taken out like how Vegeta kills her.
8:50 Cell gets taken out like how Goku teleported under Cell and blasted the top half of his body with a Kamehameha. Freezer also uses that Death Ball, like how he planned to kill Goku, before the Spirit Bomb fell on him.
Freezer and Cell get killed by getting their attacks thrown back at them.
Plus, there's the added touch that Raditz's elimination is a twofer, just like in the show. Piccolo killed him and Goku simultaneously, and Freeza eliminated both him and Dodoria with one throw.
DevilArtemis is a great channel if you love Cell animations. He basically interacts with characters from different franchises. It’s pretty funny

I just realized why Dodoria missed Raditz.
Yeah it wasn't until these episodes that the Realization hit that two of the most Iconic villains of Dragon Ball were killed by the Sons of the two MCs

Something tells me y’all would love SAO abridged. It’s famously known as like, the second best abridged series to hit CZcams in terms of writing quality, and it has A TON of movie references galore

I love how this team four star original series still makes sense in the real dragonball timeline including why Freeza was in a different hell in resurrection F, Feeza didnt follow the rules of hfil so he got sent someplace worse.

Didn’t we all tell you that you were in for a good time with this series? This is definitely one of the best episodes so far. Especially since we don’t actually see very many Anime-Level-Crazy dodgeball fights.

I chose this one because despite being the first episode of the 4th season, it is a standalone episode, doesn't spoil the plot, and should (hopelly) hook you on.
3 advices:
1)The first episode is not on the playlist (here it is if you want to start at the beginning czcams.com/video/GW_fdXHOWp4/video.html)
2) Subtitles off. They're fan added and can be funny, but it is a silent serie.
3) Alan made videos where each season are compiled. I don't know about 1 and 2, but the third was added some music, and you'll see on the episode i recommend, the composer is really good.
