What is so sad is, if it’s sold for use as a night club or something business, everything will get used and worn. That will take away from the beauty.

I am 51yrs old born in Las Vegas(wasn't raised here) but have been back and have lived literally 15 minutes from this fall out shelter for 35yrs now and seen countless videos about this shelter and I learned more from your video than I have from all the others combined. NICE TOUR!! Opening that shelter up as a night club would have it destroyed in NO TIME!! To be honest I'm surprised there is no graffii and trash in the yard. Maybe they have it being constantly maintained due to it being on the market. I want the hell out of this sh*t hole and am working towards that goal! The areas that used to be nice are now overcome with the sounds of gunshots and police helicopters hovering over at all hours. My parents have been in the same home for 40 years and the neighborhood has just gone to hell. The neighbors that they've had for years are slowing dying off and so far every family that has joined the neighborhood has come from California and we've had more police on our street in the past year than we've had in the past 30yrs and it's NOT WELCOMING!!! I know LV isn't alone in the decline but it's just heartbreaking to see first hand. My mom 76 takes her wheelchair to the grocery store and it's constant worry she's going to be hit by a stray bullet the neighbor directly across the street had 7 shots go into his vehicle and front living room. Hell I'd be LIVING in that bunker full time!!

  • @bentalexranebundgaard4867

Seeing the other much bigger true bunker he built that is at least 3 times as large could be a hoot and a half, anyway the most important thing about THIS bunker is that Henderson actually made it livable for extended periods of times without making people going stir crazy, it is actually a place i could imagine you could live in for a year or more without popping psychopharmica like crazy.
In short if you have the money/workforce to build it big, make sure the make it roomy and give a good illusion of the outside.

Ol' Jerry passed away in that place. Did you have any sense of his spirit following you around ? RE reports it last changed hand in 2014 at the tune of 1.15 mill. It says Mary (his 2nd wife) pulled most of the boulders off the property and had the house built on top of it in the 80's before she passed away. It mentions the lighting in the "outdoor area" underground could be remotely changed from daylight to night time with faux stars over head. The dude was pretty slick. To get around NZ foreign ownership laws he had his house there built on slides, so it was not considered attached to the ground and could not be considered a permanent structure.

Due to many earthquakes in New Zealand, houses are built on rails so that they can move and not fall to pieces during a quake. A friend of mine had a small company which pulled the houses back to their correct positions after a quake. Rotorua in New Zealand was classed as the thinnest part of the Earth's crust. Natives used the river there to cook their vegetables and the locals heat their homes by simply boring a hole in the ground and inserting a pipe to feed the steam and hot water under their homes. Boring for steam is illegal, but they buy a licence to bore for fresh water and if they hit steam, nobody cares.

My personal opinion on this particular video would be a shame to this historic gem to turn it into a nightclub. Also I have always wanted to get a shelter and I know on your videos how you push people to really consider getting one. Which I think is absolutely the right thing to do, but in your average middle-class Society who are probably most your viewers really can't afford this type of luxury. I was just wondering what is your viewpoint on my comment and if you do have any information I would love to hear. The eight air-conditioning units were also replaced and they added a 1,000-gallon water tank, among other infrastructure upgrades. Another article revealed there is a diesel generator on the property, only makes sense to have one these days for homeowners.

It seems strange that they have to have air conditioners to keep it cool. Put it would make the best man cave in history.

I’m guessing it’s because of exchanging fresh air in. It’s all warm. Or hot in the day. If you didn’t exchange air it would be cool but stuffy and monoxide poisoning with out fresh breathable air. Same problem in norther climates. It’s nut minus 35 degrees under ground but once you circulate fresh air that is cold it will not take too much time to have a sub zero shelter.

Club should be called "The Underground "

My only concern with it as an underground clubhouse or whatever for 100+ people is the lack of a sprinkler system coupled with only 1 stairway to get out if something bad happens and no emergency lighting and flammable materials everywhere. I can see 150 people and something bad happens and the lights go out, maybe smoke too. Oh my. It would be like the Gulliver's Nightclub fire back in '74. It needs sprinklers and emergency lighting, flame retardant materials and maybe another exit. As a private 1 family shelter it is workable but the entrances would possibly have to be redone to make it more secure against folks trying to force their way in and maybe a hidden exit added. And what about auxiliary power, water storage, etc.?

      It has two other exits.

@@AtlasSurvivalShelters Hopefully that doesn't include the elevator which shouldn't be used in any fire event. But if there are 2 other stairways, then that is much safer.

There are three exits with stairs and the one elevator.

I've always thought that was really cool. Worthless as a bunker though given it's location and notoriety.
