I had around 40 cinemas under amc in eastern India. Installed in late fifties these projectors were equipped with Duosonic sound system and even had Nevlector mercury arc rectifier..With the advent of multiplex s single screen theatres started closing down in 2004 and the era of film projectors came to end by 2008 when digital projection took over..Howeve GK projectors were the best film projectors ever made..

I used to use two of these at the then Thorndike Theatre in Leatherhead Surrey UK way back in the late 60's We had variomorphic lenses for Cinemascope as well

Kalee's were good projectors, I worked on these in cinema, I use to have GK37 converted to read Dolby sound track sold it, now I got Vic5.

Looks like the top loop is to large and could cause scuff marks [or even scratches ] to the "gloss" side of the film being projected.

Your are right..the loop between sound sprocket and take up sprocket is also tight..perhaps the cradle rollers are worn out..the fire traps have been modified by single large roller...😊
