    When Chad talks about not shrouding his lyrics in metaphor, I have to say that it is very true, especially in the new album.The song "Home" reflects almost everything that my sister has done to throw her life away with drug and alcohol addictions, even with so many people trying to help her. I've been defending Nickelback for years now to people who cant relate (as you talked about as well), and never once did I doubt the truth and power behind the stories in each and every one of their songs. I will listen to these guys for the rest of time, even if it means I get mocked by the ignorant.

    I am 46 and love the heavy metal groups of my generation. When you guys first started I had already moved on to other genres so I missed out on you basically because they was no good heavy metal to listen to. But, with that said, when I did discover your music about 7 years ago I was hooked instantly and I am so glad that you are still here making new music. I really think people of my generation and the younger kids will enjoy your sound and lyrics...I think you'll be around for a long time...please don't stop!!! I LOVE your new music...Chad, you have a superpower voice and it touches my soul. Thank you! I also really LOVE the guitar riffs...both of these together give your band such a one of a kind sound that many of us love. Good luck!

    I just had to add, in thinking, you know Cobb Mtn, and Middletown here in NorCali, were lost to the Valley Fire here in Sept. 12 '15, 2000 of us lost our homes, so the show you-guys did@ Konocti Harbor will be a special memory forever! I am a disabled Vet, and owned my 1st home when I retired up on Cobb Mtn, It was absolutely beautiful, snow, deer, pines and all, best time of my life w/my kids, the video "Far Away" means so much to me because I WILL NEVER be able to thank all the firefighters enough, who were injured, and lost their lives, we had 4 mins to get out and the fire was literally burning right behind my truck as we fled, the firefighters in that video just make me cry w/great fullness, and thankfulness, they are the truest of heroes! Loved Hesher and Curb, couldn't get copies anywhere, to rare, loved Leader of Men, going to try and see you-guys for the first time once again since your show here in Lake County, in my opinion, your earlier music, Hesher especially were like

    Something i noticed in this interview, is the admiration the other band members have and the trust they have in Chad, to allow him to just create and give him the ball to create and they will just back him up. Knowing his talent. So important to leave the EGO at the door. Same with Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Matt Stone KNOWS Trey is the golden boy and should just be left to his devices but hes there to back him up, give ideas and keep up, a little.

    I liked going to NB concerts and it has been almost a decade since I last went. I will say they are entertainers for sure. They put on a good show but I do not want to go again until they play songs that are not just singles. Yes, singles are what most people know but as a fan they do have other songs that would sound amazing live. I mean you could turn on 5 radio stations and you will hear NB eventually but to watch a live song that is not on the radio is what I would enjoy more than singles. And if I had a time machine I would definitely go to that chinese restaurant concert.

  • @SevenTillDawn
    @SevenTillDawn Před 7 lety +50

    I literally hate the 'HATE' that Nickelback receives. Completely unwarranted. Like I'm talking about there NOT being one ounce of legitimacy behind any criticism of this band. It's all social bandwagon bullshit I'll tell you right now, I'm not a fanboy of Nickelback - growing up I listened to Pantera, Sepultra, Danzig, Black Sabbath, ACDC, STP, Metallica, Slayer, Corrosion of Conformity, GnR, Bon Jovi, The Haunted, The Misfits, The Police, The Stones, The Beatles, Elvis, fucking Robert Johnson... and Nickelback is absolutely in the same family of the aforementioned legacy of rock and blues artists.
    If you have a distaste for this band, you're part of the population that is simple as fuck; and has been tricked into casually dismissing the band as shit, without listening to their albums. Your opinion has been sculpted by their ballads that were played on top 40 radio, (you listen to top 40 radio? - I completely trust your opinions in music though...) anyway...
    Or where else did you hear about Nickelback? Your drunken uncle Tommy, who was annoyed by hearing 'How You remind Me" on the radio in 2001 too many times, and said it was shit...and then you heard it...and said....yeah uncle Tommy, you're right. This is shit.
    Well... all I can say to the people who thoughtlessly label this band as pure shit in today's dying rock scene... 'YOU'RE the reason why EDM and Hip Hop, and Dubstep (or whatever is currently popular) is devouring the market.' Your godamn apathy and stupidity combined... " liking metal and rock, but disliking Nickelback" - while the whole entire empire of heavy music is dying...you can consider yourself directly responsible for Rock and Metal being completely wiped off the face of the planet in 2043 AD...

      Completely agree. My first concert was Billy Joel, then Billy Squier, then ACDC. The years that followed were just about every major rock band, Van Halen, Bon Jovi etc. etc. I've seen Nickelback several times now. Critique if you must, but I've got a lot to compare to, and there's very few bands that can do it live like them. The only thing (I think), that they take seriously is their musicianship. Rock is dying, too quickly I might add. I for one, am not going to pay money to see a studio band behind an auto-tuned singer.

    They don't deserve the hate that is thrust upon them. People say that their music all sounds the same, that they figured out a formula and just repeat it over and over but other bands like BonJovi or Def Leppard have done the same thing so why doesn't anyone hate on them? They are a rock band who put on a rock show and give 150% at each show. They also happen to be really nice and friendly people who always have time for their fans so I don't get all the hate. We could have much worse representing our country.

I listened to the group that thinks they are better songwriters. have watched his interviews and he seems like a down to earth guy not an ego maniac. It's time for the hate crap to stop. Listened to this interview a couple times since it was posted -actually I I'm pretty sure it's every summer too lol for some odd reason..I love #Nickelback and always have since day 1, plus I've crushed on #ChadKroeger ever since. I really am missing their #ATRR15 concert this summer & wish this pandemic would end so we can all enjoy our lives, support the musicians we like and go crazy.😄 it'd be great to come out of this & hear new music, a new album, from Nickelback. Praying everyone is in good health. Stay safe & healthy everyone.❤

    Cont., like so many of the other "Grunge" bands, so u-guys actually departed from that some & had the courage to produce GREAT rock'n'roll, Hopefully I'll beat the crowds and get great tickets again in Mountain View, when u play in NorCali again, your music makes me close my eyes and just ENJOY, so keep putting the rock in good 'ole rock''roll, Warmest to each of you, Becky Halsch 🎶🌝👍🎆

    That song Kroger sang really proves that Nickelback CAN do better than they have the last Decade and a half. I really hope they can actually pull something off thats nice and post-grungey for the follow up album to Feed the Machine.

    I'm a Big Fan... I've seen them Live . They really do an awesome show . I agree with Chad I think Critics aren't suppose to like them and they are Blue collar band that most people can identify with ..I will keep buying their Music .
