Honestly I loved that ending, he was always a selfish asshole.
@@BGVassil I loved the ending too and also what happens when people try to change them go back. When he made a real effort I was really rooting for him, but he didn't change what mattered most regrettably. Now he'll only be known for the worst and exaggerated aspects and not the good he tried to do.
Everyone is selfish
It's kind of a harsh moral that the whole story tells us...all the characters stay true to their nature despite wanting to change at the beginning/during most of the show.
Especially between Gene and Barry who literally had that conversation
Ironically, the only one whose act truly becomes real by the end is Fuches who actively was against any type of change and went unreasonably far to stop and hinder Barry's path when his redemption wasn't yet impossible
