  • When studying graphic design we need some ground rules. Before we get into issues of layout, typography or imagery, four even more basic principles will set us on a path create solid graphic design.

A free 7 minutes video taught more than a lecturer from university that I have to pay 800+$ every 4 months can teach in 2 hours.

BYC! I love that! Just because you can, doesn't mean you should - I'm always telling my clients this.

It is sad that precious videos like this didn't get good views in CZcams

I totally agree. I guess designers who see them need to spread the word in the design community

Amazing. The only thing i'd really criticize in this video would be the music.

Very interesting and helpful video with great teacher, but there are definitely less than 11 principles covered :(

It’s video #11. Not Eleven Principles. Glad you liked it otherwise.

I agree on all your points, but it was a bit hard to follow exactly what those points were because the title says 11, you say 4 but only called out 3, and I think I counted 6. Edit: upon checking out your channel I now see that this is the 11th in a series. That could be made clearer for folks who the algorithm gives a random insertion point. Again though, great video, I agree!

Sorry for the confusion. All of the videos are numbered. This is video 11. But the way CZcams lists it is without a period after the number. I’ll see if I can change that. Thanks for the comment. A valid observation.

Mr. Designer, please insert a '.' or a ')' into your titles. I was wondering why we only got 4 principles instead of 11.

@@CoconutPete Agreed. But I’d still say that computers don’t design GOOD logos.

Most of what I heard was comparing the old vs the new. Waste of time

On the contrary, Dean. If we won't learn from history, we'll continue to make some of the big mistakes some designers did in the past. But a few did have a gut instinct that conformed to the unchanging principles of solid logo design. Look at some more of these videos and see if you can tap into those principles. Those principles are real and they do not move aside for personal prejudice or ignorance. When you touch a hot coal, you can not just decide to not get burned.
