      Im glad to hear that you found it informative. Im in the process of doing a 2jz swap in the car right now. Ill do a more in depth guide on establishing settings since it seems to vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on the condition of the motor.

    Any chance you still have your stock boost solenoids (2:23-2:53) laying around? I'll buy them from you!

    Where does the hose lines from the back of the controller go?

    • @mywrenchinglife2030

      I used the factory boost sensor and ran my vaccuum line from there to the controller unit.

    Hey man i have a couple questions! Where is the vacuum showing will rounding to? But an other vacuum hoses on both side where are they hood it up to? Use to hood up in to the old control solenoid but with new the electric boost control solenoid how are rounding to?

    • @mywrenchinglife2030
      @mywrenchinglife2030  Před 3 lety

      What vacuum line are you referring to? Are you referring to the lines associated with the new boost solenoid that comes with the kit?

      30%, 30% and set the alarm at 13.5 psi.

    • @mywrenchinglife2030
      @mywrenchinglife2030  Před 4 lety

      I was hitting 12.5 psi of boost at those settings

    • @johnamez909
      @johnamez909 Před 4 lety

      ok my solenoid has 1,2 3 ports 3 is the vent and you can blow from 1 to 3 or back 3 to 1. so witch one do you call com and no?

    • @mywrenchinglife2030
      @mywrenchinglife2030  Před 4 lety

      @@johnamez909 On my solenoid the ports are clearly labeled. The Com port is perpendicular to the NO port on my solenoid. If it is labeled only numerically you will have to refer to the manual that came with your particular boost controller.

    Hey question for you. So I have the same unit, and the wires from my boost control solenoid popped out of the white plastic where they plug into the back of the unit. Everyone one I look at online has green and white wires back there but I have red and black like yours. Is red on the inside or outside? Not the power wire harness, but the solenoid harness that plugs in the back. Thank you!

    • @mywrenchinglife2030
      @mywrenchinglife2030  Před 4 lety +1

      So if you are viewing the wire from the rear of the controller where it plugs in the red wire is on the left or inner side.

      My Wrenching Life you have Instagram? I’m having trouble understanding the settings. I’m not sure what to set them to for a stock setup. Stock TD04

      @@_3sgto I don't have an instagram. So the Greddy unit. So for the Greddy unit it uses percentages when dialing in boost not psi or kPa. 0% would be just whatever your waste gate is set to. So in the case of the stock turbos it would be 7 psi. Which the car defaults to during safety boost. "Set" is the boost you want to hit so in the case of the stock components and ecu you will want it set to close to 9.5 psi. In order to determine the percentage you will need to hit that you will need to make a few WOT pulls in third gear. So preferably and for safety have another person driving while trying to set your boost gauge up. I would start at a conservative figure. I would say start out at 10%. Gain is the consistency the turbo maintains the psi while in boosts. This would be adjusted if you see boosts spikes. I would set that to 0 initially. "Set Gain" is the lowest boost that the unit will begin opening up while under WOT. This setting you will want to be close to your "Set" value. You will have a warning setting this actually will tell you in psi or kPa. Be aware that the value you see is in psi is multiplied by a factor of 10. So for example you set your limiter at 120 on the unit that is actually 12 psi. I would set your boost limiter to 100 for 10 psi. You will probably have to do quite a few pulls to dial it in as far as the set gain and gain. I would also suggest getting an aftermarket boosts gauge since the stock units are not notorious for not being accurate.
