It's been said that Ofelia har been unwilling to talk with Warren.
Ofelia perhaps feels a lot of guilt for not checking on Jay when he was walking up the hill in the wrong direction, without much water.
She maybe thought he was killing time before the next bus, so was maybe wanting to go to the viewpoint, and then later catch the bus down the mountain to Los Cristianos.
But she may wish to turn the clock back, and stop the car and check what he was planning, and whether he had enough supplies with him.
Language barrier would perhaps have been a factor in her not actually stopping. And she could've been in a hurry to deal with business and/or personal matters, such as purchasing food & drink items for the cafe/restaurant & shop.
Could she have persuaded him to wait for the bus, or call for a taxi. Maybe he had no cash on his person.
You should be commended fir all your hard work and time. You showed us all so clearly and concisely the last steps jay would have taken. You were absolutely right , and your instict was right . Well done and thankyou for all your hard work xx
