The Lallantop team reached Nagaland to cover upcoming elections on 27th February. Saurabh Dwivedi visited a college hostel and talks with students staying there. Many students who have visited the Northern part of India tell about the problems faced by them. Why do people of Northern India think that Naga people can eat humans? What are the other misconceptions about the people of Nagaland, we will talk about them in this video.

So much of their culture is still very much preserved and that’s good! As a student, my many classmates were from NE. They are very intelligent, fearless, ground to earth, ambitious, natural athletes and very stylish. Never a dull moment when we partied together. Lot of love to Nagaland . You guys are our brother and sister . I really hope and wish u guys feel comfortable and at home wherever u go guys go in this country . I’m from himachal and lived in mumbai and other different state too and I do agree some stereotypes are there in all of us but trust me they all do go away with more conversation and mingling eventually . I feel very enriched whenever I meet some of u . I celebrate our plurality .

The journalist did a wonderfully job on his part in creating a comfort atmosphere for the students. The children seemed really quite and shy taking their own time to open up. Having completed my schooling from Nagaland, I want more people to come and explore the mesmerizing part of north east India. More people are welcome to this greenery and naturally rich state and give message to other part of the country that all the negavites spread about it are not true.

@@naturelover5449 i think it's also because people atleast acknowledge and have the knowledge of bihari history, culture and that it's integral part of India.
The northeast people take the comments calling them "chini, japani, Nepali " sensitively because Some people don't even know northeast states are also part of Indian history and they aren't well known and when they meet them they without asking assume it's not an Indian person and also make racist comments. So they are sad because they are having Identity crisis.

Main land India is not only rascist but very casteist . And now anti minority and happy to lynch Muslims burn churches and whip dalits like in UNA. The British did not read us wrongly. We are full of prejudices that is why when Indian upper caste go abroad and suffer from racism I sometimes don't feel bad. They need a taste of their own medicine. The same people treat drivers and maids like dirt in India. Insulting the Naga people is only the tip of the iceberg. This is why Modi's majoritarian and fascist politics has become a license for upper castes to inflict violence. And not even going to mention the regular raping of women. Even women wrestlers are not safe. Shame Shame
