Is This New HANDHELD Sewing Machine Better?

  • The problem with handheld sewing machines is that you have to tie off every stitch manually. This new and improved mini sewing machine has a bobbin and bobbin winder. But does it work and should you upgrade?

    Thank you for demonstrating this little machine. I have no space (or funds) for a real machine. It's been years since I've sewn much, but I lost about 50 lbs this last year, and want to take in some of my big clothes - getting sick of spandex leggings and baggy tops! Hand sewing it all is killing the arthritis in my hands! I bought a similar one but the instructions made it look a lot more complicated than it is. You gave me the courage to try it again! At least it should help on seams, etc. Wish me luck! You inspired me to attempt these projects with your really helpful videos.

    I have been looking for a handheld machine that works. As a disabled person with chronic illness, sometimes when I want to sew I just don’t feel good enough to sit at my sewing machine. I have hand-sewn while bedridden before, but hand-sewing is not as efficient. Your video makes me want to try this product when I get the chance, and makes me hopeful that it might work for me! 😊

    Just took up scrapbooking and was super jelly of all the ladies who were sewing pockets and lace fabrics in their scrapbooking vs just gluing. It makes scrapbooking more high end and more durable. But there was NO WAY, I was going to invest in a whole sewing machine to achieve the look. Until a few days ago when I was strolling the aisles of a Walmart and couldn’t believe my eyes. This is perfect! It can’t do zigzag stitches, but neither can I, that’s probably sewing 202. However, this tutorial confirmed it’s purposes for me... for $23??? All Day! Thank you for posting this!

    This machine has a QR code on the package that leads to a thorough video demonstration explaining operation, safety and features. I watched it in the store before I bought it today. It seems like a nice little machine and it tested well once I got home. You are able to adjust the tension depending on what fabric you are using. Just test a few stitches on a swatch sample before going for it on your project. I like it so far.💜🪡✨Happy sewing 🧵

    I have the Singer Stitch Quick Plus that’s very similar to this machine with how it operates and functions. I bought it at Hobby Lobby for $20 original price.
    ***EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR THIS MACHINE AND OTHERS VERY SIMILAR!!!!***
    BEFORE pulling your project from the machine after you’ve completed your sewing, you MUST MUST pull enough thread from your spool/bobbin, then pull your project out and cut threads, make sure to pull about 6-10 inches of thread AFTER the tensioner knob, not before it so that you give yourself enough thread for cutting and continuing on with same or new project giving yourself enough starting thread (recommended by manufacturer is typically 6 inches or more starting thread) The thread tensioner WILL bend and or break your needle if you don’t pull your spool thread enough for clearance before cutting. Don’t just pull your project like she did in this video unless you want to bend and or break your needles and have to consistently replace them.
    Also YES! You WILL need to pull your top thread with a needle to the back and tie off because you can NOT back stitch that would typically lock in your stitch and prevent it from coming unraveled over time. It’s an extra important and necessary step to complete your stitch.
    Also, I’ve tried both bobbin and full spool attachment on my machine, I HIGHLY recommend just loading your spool bobbin with your thread, it tends to work better with the machine rather than the full spool with extender, it would keep getting raveled around the spring. It doesn’t with the bobbin.
    I hope this helps anyone considering this machine and anyone actively using this machine or brand new to a machine like this. The first advice is CRITICAL!!!
    Have a beautiful and blessed day! Remember, you’re doing GREAT! You DO matter, you DO belong, you ARE ALWAYS enough! In case no one has told you lately, it’s simple kind words that make the strongest impact and it literally costs no money yet it’s priceless ❤️

This would be good for those sewing jobs that you don't want to go thru the whole set up a sewing machine for and will work for cuffs that don't have buttons to open. Or just for repairs, that I am doing by hand. It seem to have a pretty strong motor considering that it did actually fed the 4 layers of jeans thru. I like the price of $25. I have a couple of questions, first, that maroon sweater when you picked it back up AFTER testing the denim, it looked like the threads were already coming loose. So my next question is, do the threads actually stay? I can see there is a bottom thread system but I never get to see the machine closely enough to see if it actually intertwines with the top stitch for it to make a tight knit stitch that a full size sewing machine makes. I'm watching this video because I ordered the square rectangular handheld sewing machine on amazon and that did not work because It was only one stitch that would come right off when you pull on it because it's not attaching to a bottom thread which is what makes a stitch stay. This right here has a bottom thread but it still needs to interact properly with the top thread to make a good long lasting stitch. I did not see in the video of you testing the stitch by pulling apart the materials you tested and you did not test the stitch by pulling on it directly to show if the stitch is actually secure. if this is shown in a different video please direct me.

    • @pinkdarkboy7127
      @pinkdarkboy7127 Před 9 měsíci

      For the machine you do have, you probably just need to tie a knot in the thread at the beginning and end of your seam so it doesn't come unraveled when you pull on it. The super cheap machines require you to hand tie the knots like that.
      The machine she's reviewing has a "reverse" function, which she's using to secure her stitches, by backing up over the stitches she's already done, like with a full sized sewing machine.

Please at least look at the diagram and learn the real names of what your working with. Furthermore, no matter what machine you're using you must adjust the tension every time you feed a machine a new challenge. Every time. Even on industrial machines you have to adjust when you go from thin to thick. This hurts me. I love you for ever but you need to improve because you are educating people who don't know better.
