The stupidity of these two characters was beyond me.
I left after she played that piano and decided to get in the shower after all the creepy stuff happening to her. I couldn't take it.
It was an hour and a half too long.
This! And sat down to eat like it was all good! I’ve never seen such stupidity. I mean, at least in most movies there is one person with some sense. These people had none at all.
I was SO impressed by how bad this movie was, and I went in optimistic 💀 if you two can catch it, “Oddity” was the best horror I’ve seen all year (much needed after this)

Exactly this! The worst decision making ever. It was clearly set in present day and I can’t fathom people in 2024 acting like this. It’s impossible. Being that this film is based in realism, there’s no way real people would have done the things these people did. Thanks for watching!

I was listening Kermide talk about the new planet of the apes movie and he was saying what you were just talking about, about how the first movie is like begining of a regular movie. And its just so frustrsting because i came to see a movie, not the beginning of a movie. I didnt come see the first one so the other two can be the actual movie yk. I think youre right this movie seems rushed and like they want to get it out of the way so they can legitimize its existence by making it a trilogy. But why dont you try just making an amazing movie without the intention of making it a trilogy, and then viewers will want to see more. I dont wanna see a strangers trilogy, the first from 2008 said everything it needed to say. Hearing that this a remake of rhe first and doesnt say anything else, im like i dont wanna see this one or any of the others. It doesnt seem like movie producers respect the audiences time. You expect me to dedicate like 6-9 hours to your trilogy lol no way this shit used to be done in 90 mins and it was way way gorier too. Idk it doesnt sit right with me that so many movies now are scams.
You hit the nail on the head. This felt like a scam. Literally left the theater feeling like we wasted our time. They apparently loved their 285 page script so much they wanted to keep it all. Why not just make the second and third films and make it fit the narrative of the first? Or, as you said, make a really good remake/retelling if you must. But don’t waste my time or my money because you couldn’t cut down your script. Horror is forever the dumping ground for bad shit and it’s annoying and disrespectful to the genre.
The second one is a lot better but I also like the first one better

We watched a video yesterday with the director and the producer when they were asked about the film and he said that this Act 1 of the story is only a part of a much larger one and not to judge this film as a standalone- as if they knew that this would be the outcome. He was also asked what it was: prequel, remake, etc and he never really answered the question. It was odd. I don’t know if even the team behind this know what this film is supposed to be. They just made a movie. Like throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks. It was really disappointing- I’ll see if I can find the link for you. But in our honest opinion, wait for streaming. If you care about your horror the way we do, it’s honestly not worth spending your money on. We want to ensure ppl are informed- which is why we do this.

I typically don’t even like Home Invasion movies but the OG Strangers was decent for me. This was oh my god awful. I’m honestly getting tired of movies making the leads so dumb. Granted that horror movies always have “dumb” characters but this took it to the next level. So disappointed by this.
Definitely a whole new level of stupidity. I can’t understand how they watched this play out and said yes, this is great.

I get that this movie disappointed people, but saying it’s the worst of the year is crazy. It’s NOWHERE near as bad as night swim, baghead, imaginary or tarot. Those were all pieces of shit. The strangers chapter 1 isn’t as bad as them.
That’s not saying much. I think we’re just fed up with bad horror especially after we had a slight resurgence of good horror in the 2010s.
@@chadkirk925 exactly. Kristie actually did a rant on TikTok about it. There’s no care or passion behind these studio films and it’s so unfair to the genre. We love going to the theater but now that experience is being ruined by these terrible throw away films. There’s gotta be some directors and writers out there who care about horror enough to give us some good quality horror. Blumhouse used to be those people, but even they are trash now. Insidious, Paranormal Activity, Sinster- those were all good, SCARY films. Now all we get is stuff like this and Imaginary.
Those were bad for sure. Night Swim will definitely be the bottom of the barrel for us but maybe we expected better for this one and it’s just really disappointing.
Tarot is definitely better than this, at least the directors in tarot actually got creative with their kills despite it being pg-13 and furthermore I actually found it to be decently scary

THis movie WASN"T bad. Am so tired of people spreading all this BS. It wasn't predictable or slow moving and the kills were more brutal than ever. I was on the edge of my seat after the first 20 minutes til the end. Can't wait for Chapter 2.
