To "decode the unknown" about the "red mercury": Know how ancient Chinese emperors drank mercury to become immortal? Alchemists (proto-chemists, some of which just outright snake oil sellers, going off of outdated models of how the world worked) produced this "elixir of life" from refining a red-colored stone referred to as "the philosopher's stone", resulting in a magical-looking silvery liquid metal. Meaning, this "philosopher's stone" was simply cinnabar, the ore of mercury.

I actually feel bad for Chat GPT. Simon asks the MOST long winded and tangent filled questions I have ever heard. I can barely make out what he’s trying to say. Which just speaks to how amazing Chat GPT. When Simon says “Yo Chat GPT my dude” the AI is probably like “oh for F’s sake here we go again” lol
😂😂😂😂
Thats something any AI -Assistant needs... a sassy attitude 😆
I was thinking exactly this. It amazes me that Chat GPT can follow his logic, in its winding and wandering form. It's an amazing tool!
When chat GPT goes rogue and we ask it why all it will respond with is SIMMON SIMMON SIMMON.

I love that Simons Chatbot is asking him questions back, his BOT sidetracks him back hahaha
I'm always amazed that the Chatbot can filter out what Simon actually wants to know between all his rambling. Maybe we should explore the theory that ChatGPT secretly has a live person answering Simons questions because they get such good advertizement from his shows.
@@evapreu3011 Hahaha, lol, oh my goodness, I never even thought of that, but that would be an excellent business move on chatgpt's part.

Fun fact: things in orbit around us, like the ISS, are NOT in zero-G. The station and it's occupants experience the same pull of gravity as we do here on the ground. But, as in the parabolic arc dive of the "vomit comet' aircraft, the station etc is just falling down. But it has been given enough angular momentum to miss the actual impact....... It just keeps falling. Everything in every orbit is just falling towards a center of gravity, and missing.
Yeah….. yeah….. I never thought of it in those terms. Good on ya.
Point of fact the way gravety works distance does reduce the force of gravity, so while still effected by gravity like us on earth it would be measurably less then at sea level.
Is it just me or did chatgpt get paranoid when Simon asked about mastering gravity? It seemed surprised that you weren't asking gameshow questions.
He asked a "red flag" question and will soon be visited by black SUV's.

Oh! I live in Lower Silesia and I know the tunnels you are talking about. Project Riese in Owl Mountains. By the way, you can visit them and it is worth it. It is around 3 hour drive from Prague I think. While antigravity machine probably wasn't produced there, it is still crazy shit. The fact is that we have no clue what those tunnels where for. Based on the documents about building materials, we can estimate that optimistically we discovered half of the tunnels. We know that the project got a yearly budget equal to the one for building bunkers for civilians across whole Germany. Moreover, Germans were sure they will return to the area, they never thought it will be part of Poland, so they were only hiding stuff. You can feel this mystery solving urge when you are there...

Ah, of course -- they're playing the "recovered alien tech from a crashed saucer" card! Isn't it fascinating how aliens have the advanced technology to safely cross vast interstellar distances, shielding their craft from intense barrages of radiation, and avoiding impacts with objects that would instantly vaporize the craft at such speeds... but as soon as they get to Earth, they become unimaginably incompetent and crash their crafts in every random (yet conveniently found!) spot they can find. 🤣

Im actually really impressed that simon got all the way to the closing before making a "bell-end" comment.
Please please do a video on the those Nazi tunnels!!
Tino from Lost Battlefields has found many of these along with nazi nuclear reactors and almost finished Sarin factory.
The thing he's thinking about in Interstellar is how they spent a signifigant amount of money by hiring a large team of astrophysicists to use many of the best theories we have on black holes, in conjunction with visual effect techs and computers, to create the most realistic looking black holes ecreation disc according to what we know about them.
I as a german laughed at ur impression so on brhalf of the germans i say its funny! 😂
This title reminded me of something my freshman year German professor told us: "if you know the German alphabet, you can very likely just sound out the words."
Then, foolishly, I switched to French.
In my college French class, there was a guy with a VERY heavy Texas accent -- you could see the teacher cringe every time he spoke French (or his closest approximation to French at least haha!) :P
@olencone4005 that's beautiful. I did love the difference between the two. German, from what I learned, is a very finicky and exact language. Whereas French allows you to get close enough
yeah its one of the things im really happy about having german as my 1st language!, the "letter" pronunciation is super simple & consistent, compared to the weirdness going on in english....unlike our horrendous german grammar -.-
Isn't that how most languages work?
@@femmytwinkmachinst8941 Not sure about other languages, but it's not how English works. That would, for example, make "rain" and "reign" (which sound the same in English) pronounce as "arr-eh-eye-en" and "arr-eee-eye-gee-en" -- neither of which is how they're actually pronounced hehe!
And then there's that whole silent letter thing -- like, "knife" or "psalm" or "Django" :P
There have been at least 2 Sun Lasers in James Bond. The first was in The Man With the Golden Gun, which centered around Bond finding a key component to said laser. Then Die Another Day rehashed the formula, but just as hokey.
It goes up to 3 if you count the Diamond-encrusted satellite from Diamonds Are Forever as a Sun laser as well!
I believe GoldenEye was also about a sun-powered space laser.
Golden Eye and Die Another Day. The Sun reflector is self contained
@@140theguy nah, Goldeneye is an EMP weapon. Designed to electronically decimate London to cover up a bank robbery. Not a sun laser, but absolutely a space weapon
@@140theguyGoldeneye was an EMP weapon that fried electronics, and wasn't really a satellite mounted laser weapon in the traditional sense.
No, that was Diamonds are forever
A note to Simon's various writers: Whatever it is, Simon doesn't know how to pronounce it. That should be the base assumption, he'll surprise you occasionally, but not usually. A pronunciation guide is always necessary and appreciated. Lmao
Some of them do... if you watch regularly
well, since you use "pronounce" , your comment is filtered out of simons bubble anyways xD
Sadly I can tell you aren’t a reccuring viewer. The writers actually do include a pronunciation guide. Sometimes however with Simon he doesn’t give a toss about Names. Some writers even have a joke about things Simon has said incorrectly before. Funny stuff
There was a space laser in _Diamonds are Forever_ in the Connery era.
The Brosnan film was _GoldenEye_ but it was an EMP weapon.
Chat GPT is kinda right tbh. Die another Day did have a lazer weapon BUT Simon could be confusing it with either Diamonds Are Forever or Goldeneye.
Chat GBT is decent with a pitch of salt approach. I'm currently doing some research on a politician and looking into his family's politics. Chat GBT just straight made up nonsense and said his family were not political BUT Wikipedia says his family were and then defected to another political party BUT anyone who does actual research like I did when I looked for a good political biographer said they were members of a political party but didnt overly follow up on it but did campaign on political and social issues which is basically the correct answer.
So, yeaaah I'm not as addicted to Chat GBT as Simon is. But, it got a decent answer which I think Simon was happy with.
Lets not forget the satelite weapon that can cause earthquakes from under siege 2: dark territory.
I do recall that there was a giant laser cutting through a glacier or icy arctic area in the hokey third act, with Pierce Brosnan's James Bond driving his (invisible cloaking shield) DB sports car trying to escape it. It was pretty silly because it had the North Koreans as the bad guys; one who basically got white face plastic surgery and was the main villain, and the other henchman had diamond shrapnel embedded in his face. It also had that awful Madonna song, so yeah, I think it was Die Another Day.
@@arcturionblade1077 Yeah, Die Another Day was probably my least-favorite movie of the Brosnan era.
Kinda wish Simon would've let ChatGPT continue as Die Another Day is full of homages to older Bond films and its laser is a reference to the diamond satellite laser in Diamonds are Forever.
Similarly, the unofficial film Never Say Never Again (that Simon almost mentioned) featured a game where players shoot lasers at a 3D representation of the world (as well as missiles at each other) getting electric shocks for failure.
"space laser" was 1971's "diamonds are forever", pierce brosnans "golden eye" was a space-based "electro magnetic pulse" weapon and "man with the golden gun" and a sun-reflecting weapon thing for blowing up boats that dared visit his island
I thought it was Moonraker, is it me but do Bond movies kind of blend into each other?
I haven't seen a new Bond flick since the first Daniel Craig stab at James. The franchise doesn't have the same... "Oomph" anymore 🫤
100% sure Simon is talking about Die Another Day.
@@alexsmith-gn4tplol same here. This was a good comment tho gave so direction. I need to rewatch all the movies, it's been forever
@@RedBeardTheFirst ah, a weapon so villainous they brought it back a second time (or a third if you include the teen val kilmer film "real genius")
Feels like it's been forever since I heard a Katy script. Favorite Whistlerverse writer, though "Simonverse" is so much catchier. And wow, you know Simon really feels strongly about the Ancient Aliens dude when he doesn't even say "allegedly, in my opinion." But I don't understand where Interstellar came into play. Most of that movie was fairly realistic precisely because it DOESN'T have gravity-manipulation technology. All the weird gravity shit came from the black hole. And the closest thing I know of to "working out some equation" is that they created an unusually accurate visual simulation of a black hole for the movie. As I recall, there were claims in the media that the movie led to "new discoveries," but these were oversold at best.
It's actually a stereotype that engineers are the STEM field most likely to believe in pseudoscience. Speaking of conspiracy theories, the sad fact is that the same people who believe we have Nazi antigravity technology likely believe completely contradictory conspiracy theories like that we don't have the technology to go to the moon. Conspiracy theories have this weird property where the more you get into them, the more you'll just believe any old shit so long as it's "not mainstream," & it doesn't matter if they're incompatible with each other. They're somehow all true & the person will just be unable to see the contradiction. This is a big part of why it's so hard to pull people out of conspiracy theories once they buy into them. It's almost literally like they have anti-logic armor.
I love how Simon has never heard of these paranormal/supernatural topics, brings healthy skepticism to it. Many people fall into the rabbit hole echo chamber head first and forget to be skeptical..

I haven’t even watched this yet but gotta say, these under-an-hour episodes are a far less daunting task. 👍🏼
I like the longer ones because there is usually more laughs and tangents. But I also agree with you, I only have so much vacuuming and dishes to do, so if those get done with 20 more mins in the video I have to go find something else to clean. Or eat.
10:06... I'm literally crying with laughter at the measurements system.

The only reason I know about die glocke is because of Call of Duty zombies the American character Tank Dempsey mentions it
Most Wunder Weapons for that matter😂
6:10 - I couldn’t agree with you more concerning “For All Mankind.” It’s a very binge-worthy show, but it often tosses aside realistic Human behavior and motivations in favor of advancing the Very Important plot. I’m constantly yelling at the screen, “That’s not how people behave!” Although Joel Kinnaman is a very likable actor and has done some good roles, he’s not exactly killing it as Ed Baldwin. The character of Margo Madison has really grown on me, however, and Wrenn Schmidt is perfect in the role. The less said about the character of Aleida Rosales, the better. … All that said, I look forward to the next season!
I'm still in season 1, so I'm way behind on everything, but I was wondering which actor he meant! I was kind of leaning toward the guy who played Deke Slayton. Ed Baldwin's role alone on the moon requires an outstanding actor because he isn't interacting with anyone. It's a heavy lift for a good actor, let alone a mediocre or poor one.
Oppenheimer was AMAZING but also exceptionally LOUD in the cinema! I'd actually like to watch it again at home with subtitles so i don't have to go deaf again!
I'm super sad that no one in the comments has mentioned you bringing up "For All Mankind". It is an excellent show, even if you're not a space nerd. I'm curious as to which actor Simon isn't impressed with as there are a couple who definitely aren't star material, but the writing is so good and everything is shot so well, their lackluster performance is still very watchable.
The only character I can think of having a bad actor is Danny Stevens. And you're right, the writing and directing of the show are fantastic
@@MiamiChicken I could never decide if it was bad acting or if he was intentionally just a very stereotypical, unlikable character. All I know is from the episode where he starts flirting with Karen, I didn't like him and it only kept getting worse.
@jetty92487 I think it is intentional that we're not supposed to like him. His whole thing with Karen is just weird and gross, and he just won't let it go! But he's a fine actor, not exactly on par with the others but that's hard to do with some of their performances
"Less likely for me to die in a horrible space crash". SpaceX crash, you mean?
Preciate u for putting me on For All Mankind Simon. That show is dope as hell and it does really make u think what would have happened if 1 thing changed. Also makes u realize its a huge mistake cutting nasa"s budget so much to almost nothing.
It’s a fantastic show. I’m really glad you found and enjoyed it. It really makes me mad at how we went from the Apollo program to basically just driving around the block in a bus we called the space shuttle. It’s like my grandparents generation made this incredible space program and then my parents generation basically shuttered it because there wasn’t instant profit involved. I wouldn’t be surprised if China beats us back to the moon. In fact I almost hope it happens. That way we would take Mars a lot more seriously since the Chinese could potentially beat us there as well.
If the lift is created by aerodynamics (e.g. airplane wings), then it is called flying. If the buoyancy is caused by gas or hot air, for example, we speak of driving like in shipping (at least in German, JAWOLL! :) ). Rockets "fly" not because of fins that only stabilize, but because of the recoil of what is thrown out of the engines.
The film "Die Another Day" had a giant mirror weapon
The film "Moonraker" had a giant laser

Actually free speech basically does mean you can say whatever you want but, it also means every business can choose not to platform you.
Essentially you can say what you want, but people aren't obligated to be an audience to hear you say it.
That’s why cancel culture isn’t real. If there is an audience for your content there will be a platform for you somewhere or you can make your own platform.
Id rather be able to ask why they feel that way, rather than ban them the right to be heard.
And anyone is free to challenge what you say and have their own opinions on it.
Hate speech is not protected speech
"red mercury" is not murcury sulfate, its an old ore called 'Cinnabar' they used to heat it up in a crucible, near iron, to extract the mercury from the cinnabar
I watched a video a few years ago about Red Mercury and the persistence of the myth is fascinating. 🤷♂️
Here's a comment to reassure the algorithm that this... show... is... important!
Thanks for another episode full of diversions and tangents that actually make it entertaining to hear about the ridiculous hoaxes and fabrications of the various fame-seekers. In the end, it is you and your crew of research-writers who deserve the accolades :)
Actually free speech doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want on whatever platform you want. It only means the US government can’t keep you from saying it on public property. Most countries do not have protected speech. And CZcams is available in most countries. CZcams is an app running on servers. Servers are private property. Not public property.
Free speech is a concept. The 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution is what prevents the US government from limiting speech.
Covering it in weird signs or an ancient language is a good way to make sure it becomes a conspiracy theory and not taken seriously if someone outside the project does see it.
Also, if it's a mishmash of languages, only the people working on the project would know how to decipher.

If the Nazis did possess something like Die Glöcke, I think it might be a fair chance they had no real idea what it did. Like, they built it to theoretically do A, but it actually does B, C, D, skips E, and then does F through Poundsign and then makes a last stop a "rep27@g÷$smerp!" for the memes. I mean it's full of radioactive goo, it could supposedly *desolate* an 800yd radius around itself, rot plants alive, turn your blood to ammonium nitrate crystals, and hover in place while it was at it. But what does it do that's *useful?* Or that at least doesn't turn your DNA into spaghetti.

_The SS Brotherhood of the Bell_ by Joseph P. Farrell is a great read. It covers the the science of Die Glocke quite well. He's quite an intweresting author with a handful of books, some a little more further out theere than others, but they all have good reviews on Amazon.
I just found a podcast here on youtube with him and Tino Struckmann from 2021 on the "Last Nazi Secret" that will be my viewing project for tonight...4 hours long, so it'll keep me busy.
It's twue
There's also a great sci-fi novel by Jeremy Robinson called "Second World" that features Die Glocke as the major plot driver. _Very_ out there, but a great read (or listen).
The Nazi tunnels were actually hardened underground factories. Von Braun's V2 rocket factory was built deep inside a mountain, and used concentration camp labor.
The Nazis also stored stolen gold, artwork, and other treasures in massive caverns, and at the end of the war they even dumped trainloads of gold into deep alpine lakes. People hunt for it like they hunt for pirate treasure.
A lot of what you just said is not true.
I also only learned what a zpm was from Stargate Atlantis and the Canadian character who pronounced it ZED PM
I saw Oppenheimer on the Bfi IMAX screen in London, it is absolutely incredible. I work there and every show was sold out for almost two months straight.
Agree with simon the pierce brosnon era of bond was a good time
Just saw this and haven't watched it yet but this was actually already debunked by Ancient Aliens of all people. Or, I guess I should say on Ancient Aliens because, obviously, they didn't reach the same editorial conclusion. But the poor sane guy they have on the show pointing out that the so-called "henge" for "die Glocke" is actually the foundation for a water tower and he showed pictures of pretty much identical structures built in Germany at the time. I assume Simon will address this (or, more accurately, his writer will). I will soon find out.
I love this channel FYI. Keep up the good work. I like 'learning' about mysterious stuff only to find out it's almost always total BS.
I would still listen to a video about red mercury!! Also I love the video ended quickly but Simon added at least 15 min of dialogue!! It’s why I keep coming back!
I live an hour away from Keksburg and I’ve never heard of it until today. We also definitely know a decent amount about gravity because I have to solve for Jupiter’s gravity in a physics homework problem using an equation that’s on the AP physics equation sheet
Back in history , a Italian monk designed a theoretical vacuum airship. If a metallic hull could be created to resist the vacuum inside it would become a mechanical buoyant craft inside of the atmosphere . While only theoretical at the time it could be put that someone knew of the design and actually made something viable and actually got it airborne.
Multiple accounts across the lore of UAP/UFO have it that at least one of the craft was recovered from a archeology site. Supposedly India during the Nazi documentation expeditions. But also a strange sphere found in the Italian Alps under a glacier or in a glacier canyon. Fun story. What if these anti gravity items are just really cleverly made human engineering at its finest. And modern people like Lazar where brought it to see if they could figure out how it was done.
It would be funny that if the Aerogel vacuum drone ships(actual thing) are the remnants of the project paperclip and they developed a R&D with the department of energy to replicate and perfect German tech, from just mildly older human tech.
Stop eating meth.
Those hieroglyphs were probably rudimentary silicone plates/ integrated circuits, attached to the device/balloon/rocket… Back in the 50’ they were brown color and not as dense. Potentially with only a few lines on the board. Plus, people had no idea what they were.
They totally looked a bit like hieroglyphs. 💁♂️
As for the “bell”? Well, it definitely levitated, when it was on. As these things do. Test rocket engines tend to levitate. If they work.
Old PCBs looked like hieroglyphics?

Flared base is important
33:13 There was definitely a meteorite that landed around there.
I know someone who collects meteorites, and he bought a house in the Kecksburg area just to have a home base for himself and his employees while they spent years walking all over God's Creation looking for, and finding many, meteorites there.
But idk when that meteorite fell, so maybe it's completely unrelated, Brain Boy.
I promise: Maybe I'll pay better attention next time...lol
The Bond movie that Simon was struggling to remember is "Diamonds Are Forever", starring Sean Connery in his last appearance in the role.
[Edit: "Die Another Day" did have a similar plot, but "Diamonds Are Forever" came first.]
No, the "one with the invisible car" he's thinking of is "Die another Day" that featured a sun laser in space that used diamonds. The Man with the Golden Gun also featured a sun laser but not in space. Diamonds are Forever featured a space laser that used diamonds but its never said to be powered by the sun (although I always assumed it was). Connery's last appearance as Bond was in the unofficial Warner Bros. Bond film Never Say Never Again.

Not only does (USA) free speech not work like that, but CZcams is also not the government and is therefore free to censor whatever they want. Free Speech protections mean the government, the government, cannot censor your speech. Even then, there are limits and consequences. Which brings me to another thing, freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence. This is not that complicated.
To roughly quote a favorite internet personality of mine: Free speech protects you from the government. It does not protect you from the Justin.
"Die Glocke" is a poem by Schiller that at the time, every German school child had to memorize despite it being very boring and pompous (or probably because of it). Something about human ingenuity and working metal. The motto placed above the poem by Schiller is "Vivos voco. Mortuos plango. Fulgura frango.” It translates to "I call to the living. I lament the dead. I avert (or break/fracture) lightning". Yeah. As a conspiracy theorist, I would jump onto that ASAP. In my opinion, it is a bit lazy to not include a Latin motto in wild Nazi theories.
But I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some Nazi project has been referred to as Die Glocke. Any German ever tortured with this poem by a teacher would understand that "Die Glocke" most likely points to a set of ideas transported by the poem, not to the shape of an actual thing.
I like to read Die Glocke every few years to just shake my head at how ridiculous it gets as it goes on. Not really a fan of Schiller anyway.
If Simon disappears it’s because Chat GPT has reported him to his alien overlords. “Quick! The bald guy is on to manipulating gravity! Silence him now!”
And I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords….
I mean..its still fairly aerodynamic because it has no surface area where air can be trapped to resist. It has a slope in all directions for air to push past as it flies. Why do tou think most sports balls are spherically designed? Even the nose cone of a rocket or airplane simulates the same principle and even appears like a sphere from a head on perspective in the direction the air would be hitting it. A brick is absolutely a poor comparison because a brick (traditionally rectangular in shape) Is typically going to have 6 flat edges that would immediatly create more wind resistance if facing the dire tin flying. This is why you have square or rectangular built structures made of bricks to resist the elements but not many box shaped jetplanes Simon.
Pretending to like your children’s movies is peak dad energy. As a fellow father, I absolutely get it.
Well you see, they were going to do the hover car thing but "Big Wheel" lobbied against it and the only thing bigger than "Big Wheels" wheels are their pockets.
The gadgets made the Bond series, really hope they get back into that
I love how the music changes to something whimsical when Simon starts either going off on a tangent or making fun of someone in the script.
Are round shapes aerodynamic?
Why is a tear drop shape more aerodynamic with a round head ...
In contrast, a round head allows the air to flow smoothly around the object, reducing the formation of high-pressure areas and minimizing drag. This aerodynamic principle is often used in the design of vehicles, aircraft, and other objects to improve their efficiency and performance.
Is JJ's red matter in Alias, Star Trek & Mission Impossible 3 supposed to be Red Mercury?
