    I'm using 16tooth front sprocket and I'm pretty happy with the performance.
    You can only hit 100km/h on a flat road with a postie, but never going uphill.
    16tooth front sprocket is fine according to mine, which appears to have the standard carby, air filter & exhaust. 17tooth sprocket may be pushing my luck, but I'm about to experiment with it. Only thing is that 17tooth sprocket wont' work as it is as there isn't enough room to roll the chain around the sprocket without touching the sprocket case, so some grinding of the case around the sprocket is necessary to make room for that.
    I'm not sure whether it's a good idea though.

      Yes loaded postie bike like I have Struggled a lot with a 16 teeth 45 rear so loaded I stick with the 15 let me know how you go with the 17tooth

      itsRDtime I still haven't done it, 'cos bike forum guys advised me not to do that & change the rear sprocket instead. The reason is 'cos I have grind off some of the metal from the gearbox cover around the front sprocket. They think that can weaken the gearbox case mount points and cause problems in the future. Not too sure about that, but it's kinda rugged way of doing it, but that's only way to fit the 17 tooth sprocket. Instead I've been looking into the possibilities of using a 41-39 tooth rear sprocket of 428 chain size, but it's hard to find unless I order from US, they don't look like they ship overseas. Currently, I'm looking into the possibilities of adapting a different sprocket of the same chain size. If the mounting holes don't match, I can drill them to match the CT110. I'll post you the outcome as soon as succeed it one way or the other. No argument, that anything above 16tooth is not ideal for CT110 when you pack it up for touring, unless you do some power mods.
      I prefer 17tooth 'cos on highways, I always keep looking for a 5th gear that doesn't exist(on flat roads). I'm still riding on 16tooth front and standard 45tooth rear.

      itsRDtime :)) Hey mate, I just realized you're actually documenting and sharing your trip around the country on a postie. Good on ya, and I hope you've recovered from all the emotional issues. This trip around the country's worth it, isn't it? You get to discover a lot about yourself when you embark on a journey like this. It's tough, but it's enjoyable at the same time. I wouldn't be able to do it in a Honda CT110, but I admire your courage for being able to do the whole tour in a postie.
      When did you finish this tour? I just started watching your videos. Cheers.

    Great stuff as always mate. Are you trying to avoid towns and just camp it up instead at the moment?
    It does seem to have a different feel to it being more in nature and that compared to watching some previous vids where you town hop. I assume its much kinder on the back pocket as well ;) (and more fun?)

    • @itsRDtime
      @itsRDtime  Před 8 lety

      +MELEGO351 I enjoyed nature more than cities and I am trying to camp the free as I don't have that much money some of the previous videos others on the postie bike Safari where we were camping at the back of pubs and stuff and I also needed two charge my laptop and stuff so I have two unfortunately spend more time in cities and towns and I wanted to

    Hi can you advise if the 15 tooth front sprocket on the postie is the standard that comes with the bike from the factory or did you go up a tooth or two on the front sprocket?
    Enjoyed your video, and note I also live in the Blue Mountains myself
    Good luck and take care

    • @itsRDtime
      @itsRDtime  Před 5 lety

      Alan Reilly The standard front sprocket size on a CT110 that was used in the Postal Service is 15. So I could probably guess with great confidence that yours would be a 15 as well.

    Cool. I'll have to remember that if I ever get a postie bike. And I do want to! :-)
    That looked like a great spot to camp. So what are you doing for showers when camping at the free camping spots?
    For a poo, I imagine you are digging a hole are you? Sorry, had to ask! lol

    Can I ask what model bag you keep where most motorbikes have the fuel tank? And what holds it onto the frame. thanks

    • @itsRDtime
      @itsRDtime  Před 7 lety +1

      +James Andrews it is just a Oxford tank bag it's held on by magnets. You can't see it because of all the shit I pack on my bike but I have a custom steel fuel tank where the fuel tank should be on a normal bike.

    Yeah, I think 15 is a good idea when you load up your bike like you do!!
    The second spot was definitely the right choice. Way nicer and more secluded.
    It is still bugging me the lack of Ks you are doing each day dammit!!
    What camera do you use for your off the bike filming?

    • @JustTex
      @JustTex Před 8 lety

      +JoeJoe Moto I'm guessing you wouldn't do this on a postie then. i like his choice on the more secluded spot too. Cheers

      +MX Tex 🚲 I used to have an adventure postie. I would knock out a 500 odd KM day here and there when doing big rides on it.

    • @JustTex
      @JustTex Před 8 lety

      Would that be 8hrs or so? They must have a good seat. I think RD's in no hurry though. I wouldn't mind doing something like this on a wr450f but I don't think my butt could handle 8hrs on a 2by4.

    • @JoeJoeMoto
      @JoeJoeMoto Před 8 lety +1

      +MX Tex 🚲 Yeah, it's a big day in the saddle when on such a slow bike. Nah, the WR seats would be bloody killer! The Postie seats are designed to be sat on all day long.

    how did you buy the bike? how much and what mods have you made?

    • @itsRDtime
      @itsRDtime  Před 3 lety

      At the time of this video no mods had been done just a new top end standard size. The only mod was the fuel tank and the luggage. Besides that pretty much a standard postie bike
