    For anybody wondering why he’s doing this, one reason is that if you use parchment paper and iron you can mess up your boards. It can warp very easily if you do it loads and loads of times

      I think i remember at my daycare, some of the perler bead boards were warped and unusable. The pegs were too short or it was warped. Could have been from this since we used the parchment paper method.

      @@autumn8987 yea that happened to my boards when I just used parchment paper so I had to start using the tape method.
      Parchment paper is fine for kids that will maybe make a handful of things and then forget about the boards, but not great for long term repetitive use like in a daycare or with people who do it as a hobby

    Hama pearls (which I guess is the brand name of these here in Germany?) were real popular when I was a kid in the 90's. No one ever taught us you were supposed to tape them and my mom hated ironing these because well, she had to do it on the plates, oh and probably because my lil sis got one of those pearls stuck in her nose when she was like 3 or something 😅 Taping and using one of those handy heated press thingies would have really really upped my Hama Pearl game 😁

      lol yeah its definitely helpful for how i like to make them. You dont have to do them this way, I just dont like it when the beads melt and the holes are all different sizes. No one ever told me to melt them closed i just started to.

      @@beadamonpixels I think they definitely look better without the holes, that pixilated art styles isn't as popular as it is right now for nothing 😁 Especially with the game boy colour gen of gamers 🥰 I wouldn't be too surprised, if melting those artworks into solid plates would make them more durable 😊 I definitely had a good bunch of my artwork broken when I was a kid. Would not have happened with a solid plate, I'm sure ❣️

    I always hold both ends really tight and fold the tips enough to hold so the tape doesn't stick to my fingers or the table. Then i firmly press one end of the tape down with the other end sticking up. I take the hand that put one end down on the beads and I move it along the tape, lowering it and pressing it to the beads until i can place the other end. That way every section is carefully placed and no beads get out of place. It really helps with the large projects

    • @kirbylover5418
      @kirbylover5418 Před 10 měsíci

      I used to do these a few years ago. I second not difficult and time consuming. For your first project, start small! I used to download sprites from games that were sized by pixel and open in an app that would let me zoom in and measure how many pixels long something was with a dragging tool (preview on my mac).
      For your first one, I’d recommend something smaller than 20*20 pixels if you can (the sheets I used that click together were each 29*29 pixels). Pokemon box sprites from gen 4-gen 6 are generally 25*25 to 35*35 if you’d like to start there.
      If you like any other pixel art game, you can generally search something like “kirby superstar ultra sprites” or “zelda 2 sprites” and find really anything you like! If you want to make your own design, I’d recommend using a pixel art app (or graph paper if you’d prefer doing stuff by hand) to make a draft before beading!!!
