He didn't talk down on Jokic! He was honest in what he thought was the MVP! He told Jokic to his face so it won't come off as fake! He still gave Jokic his props. I would do the same thing. What if Shaq congratulated Jokic and told him I'm proud of your accomplishment? Then Jokic turned around and told Shaq that he knew that he was the guy that Shaq didn't want to get the reward.Then everybody would say Shaq is nut riding.
I think the problem ppl had was using Joker’s moment to downgrade him on live tv by saying someone else should have won. Shaq forgot he is a TV guy now. Ernie would never do what he did to Joker’s face. That’s what a professional does. Just because you say no disrespect, doesn’t mean you didn’t just disrespect. Shaq was into his feelings cause he only won 1 MVP and Joker getting 3 in 4 years.
