The Ram Power Wagon is a great budget friendly option for those looking to get into overlanding. At almost $20,000 less than it's competitors and fully equiped for off-roading, this truck can do it all! Ram has been manufactoring the Power Wagon for some time now, which means the after market arena has a bunch of awesome accessories for this truck. Ram did a great job with this truck and at the price, this should definitely be a consideration for looking to get into an overlanding build.

I just bought a 2021 6.4 HEMI Power Wagon level 2 trim package in Granite Crystal Metallic and black rocker panels with no outer badging or distinction from a regular 2500 heavy duty with 7,900 miles on it......what an amazing piece of equipment for $53,000!!!!!

Has "off-roading" in the title, but the guy only mentions price-points and doesn't seem to understand why it's also, by far, the most capable off-road heavy duty truck. Most of the video addresses the way the truck looks and its comfort features. He glances over the fact it has a winch and disengaging sway bar (electronic), and doesn't even mention the front locker. The Power Wagon is the only truck that comes with these features because it's made for off-road...not just a "CHEAP off-roading option".

I think the exhaust is out the side so it will not be damaged if you scrape the back, plus it is within the departure angle space, so it does not scrape before the bumper does. I also believe the low weight limit is due to the claimed off-road capability and the effect weight has on that. It can be overloaded for its low limit, but the extreme off-road capabilities (like down-hill speed control) will be adversely affected. In my '16 have carried loads of wood that clearly exceeded the load limit and it was fine in every way; braking, acceleration, stability and could climb my steep dirt driveway no problem. I have read about "speed wobbles", but that seems to be when severely overloaded with people, and cargo, AND speeding.

I am in the market and the power wagon is exactly what i have in mind. Although I am a little worried hearing about the lifter issues for the hemi. My research shows that even the 6.4 is affected to a lesser degree. You are not supposed to idle it...but let's be honest out for camping it's gonna be on standby for a lot. Any feedback on this ?

I put 135,000 miles on my 2012 5.7 Hemi without a single issue or breakdown. I let it idle for extended periods to cool the truck off in the Summer or warm it up in the Winter before I got in. I traded it in on a Power Wagon with the 6.4 which now has 17,000 miles so I've got a combined 152,000 miles of trouble free use from Ram Hemi's. I think the lifter problem is overblown by people who like to think they're CZcams gurus who use too much Axe body spray. You're going to love the Power Wagon! It's extremely capable off road and gets decent gas mileage around town which seems to be a sore point with some people. If you have a lead foot, yeah your mileage will suffer but by taking it easy I get a combined city/highway mileage of 14.7 which is right where my 5.7 was.
