If you truly learn how to take advantage of American Airlines points for each shopping and dining, the way you can rack up points in a year is crazy

I like American Airlines. I’ve done the credit card deal with different airlines. American is just simple. It works for me. I would recommend AA.

I am an EX Plat in a delta hub (msp) and always am upgraded. Add in cheap fares via pts with BA, Etihad it's much better than Delta pricing.

Very informative. So I just wanted to confirm...when you fly with partners you only earn base miles and not loyalty points?

Platinum Pro, but I will be lucky to make just Platinum next year, it's gotten harder IMO

Nope! Just fly in American Airlines and make sure you input your member number when you book.

    • @PointsAdvisor

That’s actually what I did! I moved to American because I have better OneWorld options out of the airports near me, but I’m happy with American overall!

@@ronsa007 I’m figuring out which airline I want to start using, but frankly it doesn’t seem like there’s all that much point. I’ll probably take a maximum of 12 flights this year and even with spending 2 to 3 grand a month on a credit card, it doesn’t seem like that I’ll even dent any decent Delta status. And I hear they don’t upgrade anymore hardly?

You can use them for someone else, however you’ll have to book the flight from your account.

She’ll need her own account too - you can only earn points on your own ticket.

I heard you still get points
I’m about to spend 38k on first class to Italy
My first time and I just like to use cash.
I guess I get the top one cause I get flagship lounges etc

AAdvantage has become BS! In the last year I have been Executive Platinum. In that time I have had maybe 3 upgrades and I fly a lot! American has realized that selling upgrades to anyone is far much more advantageous to their bottom line rather than upgrading those who show loyalty. Apart from Group 1 boarding and miles for travel, Exec Plat is NOT what it once was.

  • @moniquereneemanners4629

American Airline is a One World Alliance member not Star Alliance.

  • @macazzooooo

How much AA paid u? This seems a commercial. I have been a AA member since 2001 and the new AAdvantage program is a mess. I have flown more than ever this year (5intl flights to Europe! Amd 5 domestic) And still don’t qualify for Gold!!!! Ridiculous. I am starting with delta

    • @PointsAdvisor
      @PointsAdvisor  Před 6 měsíci +1

🙄it would be illegal to not disclose that if I was getting paid by them. I wish I was! I think it’s much less of a mess compared to Deltas weird rollout of changes to SkyMiles, but ok.

Sadly, some facts to consider before booking a flight with American Airlines is their crash record, including the first and second deadliest crashes in U.S. History: Flight 191 with 273 FATALITIES, Flight 587 with 265 FATALITIES, Flight 1 with 95 FATALITIES, Flight 4184 with 68, FATALITIES Flight 320 with 65 FATALITIES, Flight 6780 with 30 FATALITIES, Flight 711 with 13 FATALITIES, Flight 383 with 58 FATALITIES, Flight 625 with 37 FATALITIES, Flight 965 with 159 FATALITIES Flight 1420 with 11 FATALITIES. These are the stark facts, which AA employees obviously want to divert attention from, with dishonest statements about any person providing them.
