    A321XLR: Hate the business class seats facing away from the windows. One of my favorite things about flying is being able to look out the window.

    • @ryanshannon6963
      @ryanshannon6963 Před 2 měsíci +10

      Bro, you'll most likely be reclined at some degree of angle, so you probably won't even really notice any difference about window viewing. The bloggers will be annoyed, *maybe* , but it's only because they'll have to sit up a bit more to record the turbine spinning. Otherwise, most passengers won't notice much of any difference.

    • @rwg5387
      @rwg5387 Před 2 měsíci +2

      I had the same reaction. I do like to look out the window, especially on transcontinental flights. Unfortunately, it also reminded me of the old business class on Cathay that we called coffin class. But the comment is also right that you don’t look out the window that much. We’ll just have to see in practice.

    • @jerryuma
      @jerryuma Před 2 měsíci +3

      Don’t be rude. This is to give the body more leg room. If you facing toward the window, your head would be sticking out into aisle if they kept it the same pitch. Would you rather have that!!!?

  • @fghjkas5098
    @fghjkas5098 Před 2 měsíci +3

    My Impressions are the cabin seems pretty solid evolutionary upgrade over the previous seats. Doors seem higher than other airlines like British or Delta. The screen size in Flagship preferred seems to stay the same size in normal business class , bed seems pretty comfortable, there isn't much you can do in economy but at least it looks a little brighter and the screen bigger. Premium economy seems to be a solid improvement. Hopefully they will retrofit this on all of their long haul fleet that they aren't planning on retiring.

    • @ryanshannon6963

      This PE seat looks like a more comfortable version of the JAL shell. The JAL shell was actually not bad at all. I'm betting this is more comfortable due to it not being within the shell. If the cushioning is as comfortable as it looks, it should be more than sufficient for a 9ish hour ride. If the food is improved over the rest of the US carriers I would actually entertain flying with them internationally instead of looking exclusively at international carriers. I think maybe the only exception is Iberia and Avianca, but they're Iberia and Avianca.

    • @fghjkas5098
      @fghjkas5098 Před 2 měsíci +1

      One of the benefits of JAL in PE is that the legroom is just way too generous with 42 inches of pitch compared to 38 in American so I would prefer to fly JAL over American in premium economy especially in their new A350-1000s (man I need to fly on those big birds)

      first class is being phased out across the industry anyway and specifically domestically in the US business class is marketed as domestic first class, it never was truly first class so in the A321's case they're just calling it what it is for once, especially since it will mostly feature on international routes anyway. realistically how many people do you think still fly real first class these days when business class is so close and offers something most people are satisfied with for a way lower price

      @@NaenaeGaming I believe the 777's had AA's last remaining F. It's seriously outdated from what I've been reading. If they improve the food then at least the hard product will be competitive against most major Int'l airlines. The weakest area for US based carriers is the food and *kind of* the service. I think the service is more or less hampered by what's allowed in terms of dining accommodation.
      I was on UA Polaris and was hungry mid-flight. I asked what snacks were available and they basically said, "we have some chips and those little cookies." I don't blame the air staff by any means. I believe that they're simply trying to do the best they can with what they have on hand.

    In terms of seat manufacturers, looks like PE’s using the Recaro CL4710 and Safran Z600 for the A321XLR and 789P respectively, while MC/MCE’s using Collins seats for both ✈️’s (Meridian and Aspire for the A21XLR and 789P respectively). Heard about the 789P’s debut being postponed due to delivery delays from Boeing. 1 thing to improve the 789P in the meantime is to increase the number of MCE seats to have a proper MCE section (MCE in just the bulkhead and exit rows doesn’t make it a proper extra legroom section). I saw the 789Ps LOPA on AeroLOPA and I have an idea that may work. If you move row 20’s seats forward 8-12” and the A-C and J-L seats in row 21 forward 4-6” (row 20 and the aforementioned row 21 seats are bulkhead seats) you may be able to add 4-6” more pitch for row 22 and seats 21D-H for a Main Cabin Extra mini cabin on the 789Ps while retaining its total seat count across all cabins (and also as a nod to MCE’s early days on the 767 and the 773s). It could also generate more seat revenue and make the 789P more premium without having to lower the seat count as you already charge a fee for MCE. I’m thinking minimum 35-36” pitch for seats 22A-C and J-L and possibly 37” for D-H seats in rows 21 and 22. Just make sure the bulkhead and exit rows still have at least 6” more pitch than the standard main cabin seats for this to work.

    @AmericanAirlines Congratulations on the hard product launch -- this looks good. Here is a suggestion, please: improve the web interface to permit mixed cabin bookings on the same reservation number. Currently if a family travels and wants to purchase 2 J seats and several Y seats, the person booking needs to make 2 separate reservations each of which gets assigned a unique reservation number. This situation becomes more complicated when the Y passengers are minors because the system flags the minors as "unaccompanied". On international flights, the "unaccompanied" status becomes particularly difficult. Thanks

    If they brought back screens to their domestic fleet. I wouldn’t fly delta. AA has the most domestic direct flights as is, but their oasis is so uncomfortable and outdated

      I prefer screens at every seat. Sometimes I have to work on my iPad, but I would rather have something on the screen and do my work at the same time and not have to use my cell phone as well.🙄

    Love the updated interiors. A missed opportunity is for the 787s to have a bar area. Aeromexico remains the only airline in the Americas that has a bar area onboard (787-9 variant).
