Good to see the old girl moving under her own steam 😊 Alternator should just be a single thin wire from the alternators regulator DF terminal to the gauge cluster. The gauge cluster warning light is fed by 12V so that when the alternator doesn't produce voltage it acts like a ground so the dash bulb is lit. Then when the alternator produces voltage there is no ground for the dash bulbs anymore so it goes out. Even using a make shift test bulb from the battery positive to alternator DF terminal would give the same result to see if the alternator is working. It's called the excitor wire as gives the alternator voltage to energise the alternator windings so it can begin producing it's own voltage. Older generators didn't need this excitor wire as the permenant magnets of the generator meant it could produce energy without an assist.
With that Craig David fan controller, your temperature wont be Walking Away... The temperature won't Rise & Fall... And you won't get radiator fluid in your mouth and think "What's Your Flava?" Bo Selecta!

Fellas.... a couple of points if I may. 1. the capilliary tube for the fan sensor - carefully coil it up around a screwdriver handle... or pipe to make it look nice and coiled. Helps with vibration. And looks more professional. 2. If you need 40 Amps just for the fans, make sure the alternator can handle maximum load. If it can't you'll burn out the stator coils. If it's a stock 35 amp then replace it with 85 amp or higher. Headlights, wipers, interior fan, thermos all running.... test the amp draw when everything is on. Floor mount dip switch is for hi/low beam. Usually , there's another interruptor switch on the dash for the driving lights which are fed by hi beam signal. 3. When drilling ( say the welded bumper mounts) small drills = high speed. Larger drill bits, say 8mm and above, low speed. Cheers !

Build a Barra engined car, decide how deeply you want to get into the drags/challenge world and build a car for that. I would really like to see a pro-tourer style car that turns and handles as well as being quick. Keep up the good work!

Just cam, large pistons, head worked and a big carby. Preferably a 202 or 186 in a Torana or even put it in the gemy. Not sure it would fit..... In case you didn't know XY Driving lights only have live wire connected to them. The earth wire is fitted to the radiator support which creates a closed and open circuit fellas. I would say you don't have the earth connected.

Should have gone a PROFLOW water pump which looks the same but water pump wheel is closed in , instead of open to generate more flow through the Cleveland block given there is less wall between piston pots to keep it cool & the exact reason why people try to build genuine when there bloke has been honned out with minimal wall between pistons and go to Thermo fans instead of staying with the original look as this bloke has on how his engine has been finished off guys. Just a heads up. PROFLOW WATER PUMPS. Check them out.

I was thinking this morning I'd love to see you guys do a kit car like the Factory Five Type 65 Coupe. But I think they're pretty pricey, especially in Aus. Or could you build a track car? See if you guys can turn corners as well as you drive the quarter mile! Whatever you do, I can't wait, vicarious living at its best.
I think its time to ser the Gemini done properly now. Get seats trimmed, finish it of, maybe refresh the motor and throw on a small turbo...you guys are competant to get it done. 😊
Should of at least painted that new water pump to match the engine guys for the time it would take ! But then again the coil is on the opposite side and it has Thermo's which takes it away from looking mint genuine.
Better way of wiring the thermofans is to use a temp switch in the thermostat housing (however you need to change to the later type and matching hose). Memory is too faded to tell you which one I used. Basic relay to run the fan/s. I also ran a dayco 66A thermostat which is the high flow version. That combo with ef/El fans sorted out my Clevo.
I am a Holden man, and was going to say the XE but better not, I still remember when you went and pulled the 5 litre out of the fairlaine, so what about another video of that property and the bush bombs/cars there? Some might be actually becoming valuable now too, sell some off as projects to fund the XE?
Throttle return spring should be on the opposite side to the cable, otherwise it puts pressure on the throttle shaft bushes, increasing wear. Nice job though guys.
Great behaviour guy's cracker build.. Not sure how you guys have set up the relays for the thermo fans.. In my experience I've found with that type switch to have one relay per fan.. Also I've found that you may need to delete the fuse set up and go to circuit breakers as in my experience have had the fuses burn out.. Just what I've found that's all.. They work great gents. Keep up the great content 👌

You require a return spring bracket for the carby fellas.
You need to use the guard covers that you sell boys.

if it has a amp meter gauge, make sure it's connected and not faulty
If gauge faulty you can join both wires as test etc

Not sure if you know, But TREFOLEX is CARCEOGENIC ! (Spelling) I recommend using pure Johnsons Baby Oil as a cutting compound guys

Looking good guys hey if the alternator is internal regulator then you need to run a new wire to the dash light cut one wire and join new one
