- Head out, enjoy the water and stay safe. Always wear your PFD and let others know where you're going. Remain within the limits of your equipment and skill set. For example don't try to paddle to Kangaroo Island on your brand new $200 Kayak 😂
You made my decision easy, thanks for the great review!
You're welcome mate. You wont regret getting the YakAttack holders.
Great video mate, actually needed this video I’ve been trying to look for quality rod holders
Check out some other reviews then make your own mind up. You know which one I recommend 👍
Excellent comparison. The Yak Attack certainly looks a better choice. Look forward to seeing the motor and stabiliser videos. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Thanks mate, I'll keep resting up today. I gotta be able to go out for at least one of my five days off.
once again great vid Terry, gee hope your better soon mate :), yes i agree with your assessment on the 2 different rod holders, think i will invest in a few par of those yakattack holders for sure ,thanks for the great info mate cheers , im back now so get better soon so we can get out for a fish asap :)
Thanks John, Over the years I have owned and used the Railblaza, RAM, and the Yakattack holders with the later definitely being my favourite. Im resting up today so Im hoping to be able to go out on Sat weather permitting.
After watching this I ordered 2 from Amazon and very happy with them. I would say they are better to use. The only recommendation I would make is to order them with the 4 inch riser extensions which I will order next.
Yes thats how I ordered them with the extension. Glad you like them.
The only trouble is you don't have the rail blaza swivel mount where you don't have to unlock to move but I'm very impressed by the yak attack stuff
Hi John, are you talking about these? www.railblaza.com/products/swivelport/ and this one? www.railblaza.com/intl/product/r-lock-knuckle-joint-base-replacement/ I have both of these as well and use them on the camera boom. Still no where as good as the Yak attack ones. Also its not just the base but also the rod holder itself I find much easier to use. Like I said my opinion and preference, have a good one.
Man Flu is just the worst a very good Single Malt Whiskey can certainly help with that. Very impressive setup unfortunately due to a work accident I couldn't work a setup like yours but I'm looking at inflatable and would like anyone's opinions and types preferred I guess pros and cons would help make the right choice. As I'd really like to get out on the water and catch fish. Thanks Terry.
Thanks Brenton, found some JD here so been swigging that today. Hopefully Im at least better by Saturday to head out on my last day off.
Pretty biased review mate. Firstly there are better mounts for the railblaza rod holder that also swivel and lock so it won’t move like the yak attack. The round starport base is for mounting on the kayak primarily and not for the rail the small screw in rail mount you showed specifically says not to me used for trolling. The correct rail mount for the Railblaza rod holder do just as good of job as yak attack. Secondly, why use a baitcaster rod for an example when nobody uses one for that purpose. I’ve used Railblaza for all my mounts and never had a problem. It’s personal choice really. Anyway good to see your video 🎣👌
Oh Tezza, sounds like someone got triggered. Like I said at the beginning its my own personal preference, not sure how that can be biased as I own both and have used both many times. Perhaps you can send me a link to the mount that you are talking about that I can swivel the Railblaza holder at the push of a button without unlocking it and taking it out as I have never seen it. As far as I can see they recommend this mount for a track www.railblaza.com/intl/product/starport-tracloader/ and here is a video of that same mount failing at the 5:19 mark czcams.com/video/wYz1gj5UFlI/video.html
Also people do put bait caster rods into rod holders watch the first 20 seconds of this clip from Railblazer themselves www.railblaza.com/ Anyway have a good one Tezza. And as you can see I do own some Railblaza products, I have two rod holders as shown and the camera boom arm that I'm happy with. I just personally prefer the Yakattack rod holders.
I concur
Yak Attack are great
Extremely user friendly.
They are the only ones I use on my hobie compass.
Rail blaze is 🚮 🗑️
