Hi Dan. I have been preparing the behavioural questions with your videos for the past 2 month. Your videos are extremely helpful. Now I get the job as SDE at Amazon. Thank you!
Congrats YiXing! And thank you for supporting my channel
I got cleared last Week for the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect. Thanks Dan for the amazing videos
Happy to help Yasar!
Dan you're doing amazing work with these videos! I can't thank you enough for posting them... helped me immeasurably getting ready for my own interviews which went well (thanks to you)!!!😁
Absolutely LURV the quality of the information in your videos. Thanks so much for sharing!
I think the best tip for this question is what you said as from 11:24: The importance of selling yourself .....and ability of show your strengths.....
good stuff Dan!
I'm a operational safety guy w a major company who will soon separate due to out-of-state relocation. Passion & energy will prompt me to remain in the workplace & Amazon is on my radar.
My "why amazon" story precipitates from a personnel level to professional reasoning:
The wife introduced me to Amazon several years ago as a means of ordering stuff online. Didn't think much of it but did notice they sold more than a few things & figured them to be 'drop-shippers".
Not long after, while surfing LinkedIn I noticed an Amazon post w/r/t celebrating some occasion - and what caught my eye was how happy & proud everyone appeared. ...
I also learned just how much of an impact they're making, in addition to Fulfillment Centers (whom employs safety professionals!) ...directly within my wheel-house to say the least.
As time progressed I found my self envious, but thought - wait a minute - I'm just as proud and work for an equally World-Class Organization.
Bottom line, my focus (if I get the opportunity to interview) is to impart.... the prospect of working for Amazon excites me and I covet the opportunity to join another World-Class Organization.
Appreciate your steer on that approach Dan.
THX,

Hi Dan,
I am a safety professional who is interviewing for Amazon. Below is the draft of an answer that I prepared for my Amazon Interview for Program Manager role tomorrow. Request your inputs on how this can be improved.
::
I see Amazon as a place where comfort is not the norm. I think the constant need to act, build, engage and simplify processes will automatically put me in a position to develop myself professionally and personally while delivering consistently to ensure the safety of customers and thus achieving a core value and drive of mine - Goal Zero: No harm, No leaks!
::
Sounds good!
Thank you for sharing all your example, need more for people who are looking for customer service in consumer not in IT professional
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for posting these videos 😊
Hello..I am prepare for the role of Control System Engineer..
Please suggest whether this answer fits in
"I really want this job because I think I can cater to the global appeal of this role and grow my career at the same time. Working under the umbrella of AWS,the leader of cloud computing services is any Automation Engineer's dream job and yes I am intruiged by New Generation technologies. With my proven success in past and present customer centric job profiles I am confident of keeping your customers happy too.
It is a fine answer; even better if you template it like: I want to work at Amazon for 3 reasons: first, [..] second [...] and third [..]
Question regarding employee referral. I had someone I know help me with employee referral, and received emails regarding the positions that I was referred for. When I go check the application status under my profile, these applications appears to be "incomplete" under active applications. According to the referral email I got there is nothing more I need to do except to wait. But should I still complete the final steps of the application and submit them? Or would that create a double submission? thanks!
Thank you very much Dan!
After watching all your videos, for a few iterations, I passed the interviews and the loop, and eventually got an offer from Amazon.
To emphasize to all candidates, the most important thing is to know your stuff.
However, if you are a top skill but lack the leadership principles, then you will not succeed in the interviews.
So you should prepare with stories for each of the leadership principles, and be very serious about it.
Congrats Eitan!
hi Eitan, Congratulations ..!!! Can you please list down few questions that were asked.. it will be helpful for others as well
I go for mine on this coming Monday for a Solutions Architect position.

how was it like?
@@tugrulpacaci2751 There was quite a lot of paperwork, they do drug and alcohol tests, make you do certain tests to ensure that you can do certain jobs but the experience was overall very pleasant and informative
@@brucecurrie4379 Hey man, I have heard that amazon only does a mouth swab for drug testing. Can you confirm this? Thanks!

These videos are so helpful! Question...what do you mean by "using more metrics"?
Hi Michelle, I mean to use quantifiable information where possible. Regards, Dan

Hi Dan, I have interview on Wednesday at Amazon. Would the
35 behaviorial questions be sufficient for the interview? Also if I need to give more explanation in order for the interviewer to understand the challenge, would it be a problem if it goes beyond the 2 minutes you mentioned? Thank you. Your videos were so useful.
thanks for the video
I love these videos 💛
thank you
Dan. Thanks for the tips! I am interviewing later this week. Engagement Manager role
Hello guys!I have an upcoming interview with Amazon for a bilingual(French and English) Key Account Manager posiiton.Does anyone know whether the questions will be both in english and french?Thank you
depends on their interests, usually both
The second SDE response where you talk about caching and technical tricks for your website, what does this have to do with why you want to join Amazon? Seems a little off topic IMO
Focus on Your stregths
I have interview friday
Hi Dan, Any additional tips to prepare for the role of HR at Amazon? My interview is scheduled this week.
strong stories, metrics, make sense and have backbone
How long should this answer be? Love your videos - have my second interview tomorrow, and I'm just refreshing some of my prepared answers.
You usually dont want to go over two minutes. Could be as short as 30 seconds, so long as you feel confident of making a power statement (this is less than 5% of the time). Good luck!
It's not a bit of contradiction to be 'genuine sincere', as you said in one of you videos, with being instructed to how to answer 'why amazon'?
You have to give a prescribed answer not an honest one
Super video! I applauded for $5.00 👏👏
Hi Dan! How do I book a session with you?
Great channel! I have a question .. can you repeat your answer or use multiple time the same stories with different interviewers? Maybe highlighting a different aspect of the story based on the role of that specific interviewer.
yes of course, just keep in mind they usually take notes and talk to each other between different rounds
@@DanCroitor sure, Continuity and coherence is key. I just fear to not come up with enough stories to answer differently to four full rounds of interview. Great videos , thanks Dan!
@@FuneralMoon85 Good luck!
I was asked today at my interview same question "Why Amazon".
I have an interview coming up on wednesday. I would love to hear some advise
because my money be kinda funny
Why amazon for cloud associate position example please.
The first example was amazing! :9
Easy:
Q: Why Amazon?
Me: Because your boss Jeff is the only one with enough money to pay me what I'm worth! Next question!
relax bro, your acting like your some next level albert eistein
hahah love it. They probably gonna be like next candidate tho hahahah
One of the most important reason is that I’m really impressed that Amazon really take care of everyone by providing professional platform for learning and growing to become better leaders. I have always admired of the training program that Amazon has offered to cultivate leadership principles among everybody.
Additional to that, Amazon provides me greatest opportunity to really dive deep into working at the most advanced and dynamic working environment. I would have the change to explore and to get involved in the data center operation and maintenance of the physical infrastructure in AWS.
Thirdly, working as DCEO trainee not only allow me to be a self-starter, but also I would have the greatest experience of working together with the people with the greatest minds in Amazon. Amazon is one of the most data-driven company in the world and working with Amazonians surely build my values and perspective to another level.
Last but not least, I am confidently believing that I have great deal experiences and values to share to make me possible to fit into your organization. Thank you.
Dan is the above ok?
I am expecting my telephonic round for the post of Sr Staff in Finance n accounts team in India..
Any tips please ?
search for "finance" on my channel, I published some videos on this
Super video! I applauded for $10.00 👏👏👏
Thank you! 😃
Hi Dan, I have an upcoming interview and was wondering if my answer for this question sounds good:
I would love to work for Amazon for a few reasons.
First, I tend to thrive in a fast-paced and stimulating environment like Amazon.
Second, I get a lot of satisfaction out of discovering and using the latest technologies, and Amazon seems to both encourage and provide support for this habit.
Finally, I am excited to work in an environment where ownership is taken seriously and everyone has a personal stake in the work.
Thanks so much for the videos!
A bit generic, probably could compress and/or add more meat
Most of the opportunities I'm applying for are in sales--which video of yours do you recommend?
Basta PUBBLICITAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANUBI!!!!!
Answer #2 it's me!!!
Hello Dan,
Thank you for the video. Below are my 3 reasons, what are your thoughts about it?
#1 is the culture of building innovation and embracing failure as a means to improve customer experience. I haven’t seen any CEO talk about failure as openly as Jeff does and I believe it reflects a culture of freedom of thought to go above and beyond and makes me want to be a part of it.
#2 is my passion for technology and Amazon and AWS specifically are heavily technology oriented and with the way the future is looking toward AI & ML, I feel this is the right place to be to grow my career and feed my curiosity to learn about them.
#3 is I’m a detailed oriented person and being a data driven company that Amazon is, I believe I can dive deep and resolve problems that help with improving customer satisfaction.
You need to get more specific on why you can make a difference and probably also what’s in for you.
Is there work/life balance in Amazon? I am looking for a place where they respect work/life balance.
On a video of Jeff i saw this morning..he said he d rather say "work/life harmony"
I encourage you to see a vid on this channel "14 Amazon principles explained by Jeff Bezos" You will find your answer and more there
work life harmony. Balance gets you off balance
practice Q
Can you tell me a time when you could have done something better?
Three reasons why we should hire you?
What are some things you could use improvement on?
Can you tell me about a time when you went above and beyond what was asked for?
Can you tell me about a time when you showed customer obsession?
Hi Dan, I just get this question today , and just see this video after that
How to answer this question in case you are getting interviewed for a leadership role
The approach with 3 reasons should work pretty well, at least as a starting point; if you want o get it to the next level, you could turn it more inspirational from there.
I had 4 interviews and was never asked this question...
thanks for the feedback
@@DanCroitor I didn't mean your information was wrong. Most companies ask this kind of question.
I just found it strange that I was never asked it
@@rhysmuir they follow these, too :)
I appreciate the time you put into this video, however, I can't imagine sounding truthful at all to say: "I wanna join amazon because I wanna make your big customers happy". Might as well say something like: "Amazon is full of talented people, doing amazing research and projects, challenging the status quo of current technology, and I want to be part of it and and help with this advance".
Really good content but I feel like the 1st reason and the 3rd reason are almost the same and could be questioned by the interviewer.
I liked your video very much. It helped me a lot.
Thank you.
Please, allow me to make some suggestions.
I had to watch it twice and, many times, I had to pause and rewind.
I think it was because you made your comments after showing the sample answers.
Try to introduce what is coming next, for example: "on the next sample answer you are going to watch an answer for the job role X. Please, pay attention to this and that, notice”.
*Amazon recruiters hate him
One thing video producers must realize is its very difficult to be patient to go through a video. Hence, it should be really short and to the point.
Hello, I am answering this with respect to the cloud support positions, Please let me know your feedback.
Why Amazon / Why AWS premium support.?
"In the line of my work over the last 2 years, My responsibilities had an equal share of performing technical duties and explaining my technical work to my non-technical clients. I have always taken a lead to present our team's technical work in as comfortable way as possible. I realized that in addition to performing technical work, I loved and enjoyed interacting with my non-technical clients to help them understand the technical work in the form of Sprint / Project Demos, Knowledge transfers or Providing technical support. I soon discovered that my strength lies in my good communication skills and my affinity to take ownership in addressing any issue with my clients. I confidant that, with my customer facing skills I would like to help many more aws customers as well as progress my career in that direction."
Thank you.
It is looking good, maybe add a bit of structure like ‘I want to work at Amazon for 3 reasons: first... second ... and third’
Dont say everything about you. start saying about them and then about you
Everybody talks like this is some profound question. It's really quite a common question that any large company will ask. They want to see what you know about the company and why you want to work there and why you think that you are a better fit there than one of its competitors. That's really it! So I really don't understand why so many videos about this question exist on several CZcams channels, like the answer is akin to achieving world peace.
What do you think of this answer??
I would really like to work for Amazon for three reasons:
*Firstly, I believe that working for a company whose main goal is to become the world’s most customer driven business would give me invaluable experience and boost my CV
*Secondly, over the last four years I have worked in a fast paced environment and dealing with probably the toughest customers - parents. This has taught me how to work under pressure and prioritize tasks, as well as further develop my communication and management skills. I am confident that with my experience I would make a long lasting difference in your team.
*Lastly, I am an action driven person. I thrive in problem-solving and I feel comfortable with challenges.
2 and 3 look like the same; 3rd could be about what's in for you or where you see yourself in 5 years
@@DanCroitor thank you!!
Did you get the job?
Hello Dan, can it be good answer to this question? I would be happy if you share your comments. Thank you in advance.
"Amazon is a company of pioneers and getting the energy from inventing on behalf of our customers. For today’s pioneers like me that’s exactly why there is no place on Earth they’d rather build than Amazon. Amazon is also handling millions of orders everyday and has a mission to deliver to everyone on the planet. So with a mindset of manufacturing and having a strong belief in customer obsession, long term thinking, innovation and operational excellence I believe that I can make a remarkable contribution to Amazon supply chain management. I have managed considerable amount of projects aiming lean and continuous flow, optimization of bottlenecks, systematic defect reduction and collaborated with internal and external stakeholders whole through my carrier. So I’d love to use this knowledge and experience for the sake of Amazon where also I can learn a lot and expand my horizon."
It’s a terrible answer. The first 2-3 sentences are useless. Your use of the principles is too obvious and there is no STAR format.
@@DanCroitor thank you so much for the feedback. I will revise it according to the tips and tricks in the video. Thank you also for posting these videos. Best regards:)
did you get the offer?
Why amazon - it is a brand and it pays well.
Most honest answer here
What is to use metrics didn’t got it
Looking for short concise answer, but this guy talked 12 mins still with confusing scatter information
Amazon recruiters are awful and unprofessional. I was offered a phone interview and then they just stopped returning my emails.
thank you for sharing your experience
@@DanCroitor No problem. Thank you for your insight. If I ever get an interview, I'll be sure to take your advice.
Even if it were true about wanting to switch because of your coworkers, I would never bring it up directly in that way
C’mon, you’re basically saying nothing in these answers. They’re artificial and dishonest. Anyone can say “I am a perfect fit for this job and I like to take ownership”.
