I have adapted the strategy for laggers in this game. Just do what Goku did against hit which is anticipate the timing of your attack or dodge against the lagger. Also side flying during lag mostly shows that they are trying to vanish step.
This isn’t a guarantee strategy, but it boosts the chances of victory if you do these tips for future lag matches.
Also the lagger also gives you the advantage of mental tactical during the lag pauses.
