  • In this video filmed on a very wet Sunday towards the end of August 2018, we observe various Sunday workings on the E.C.M.L. In particular attention being given to the class 91 (225 sets) as they are about to be replace & displaced by the new class 800's over the next year or so. Some 225 sets are/may be retained in service once the new class 800's enter service on the ECML.
Also seen in this video is hired in DB 67's with mk2f's for Grand Central as well as a Colas top & tailed class 67 working. Various other services such as GC, X-Country, Northern Trains, Hull Trains are also seen.
    Thanks for watching.

Many thanks, Gérard. Bit of wet day for filming but a record of the 91's as they are reaching the end of their time on the East Coast now.

Good camera work Iain! All the trains framed perfectly. Thanks so much for all the work you've put in following the progress with your layout. It is also interesting to see the modern image scene in your part of the country, even if it is more typical British weather than we had earlier!

Many thanks, Alan. Slowly getting there with the layout. I really need to get cracking on the station & town scene now. Yes, certainly, one of the wettest days I've filmed in for a long time. Thought I'd get the 91's on camera before they start to bow out of service on the ECML. Wasn't any freight sadly during the time I was filming. Kind regards, Iain.

Nice video, I worked on the 91's at Bounds Green. They were in GNER livery then which imho is the best they have carried. Nice to see them again and a shame that they will soon be gone.

Thank you. Hope to get out & film the retro IC 91 after Warley show is out the way. Sad to see them going :-(

Since I'm near Edinbrugh Waverley, I can see these a lot. But it still doesn't take away the fact that these beautiful powerhouses are being replaced by 800s. I like them and all but Maybe if they worked for someone else! Great video.

Think they'll be around a little longer yet, but will be sorry to see them go :-(

Kinda sad if you think about it. Seems like the LNER patch is almost like the kiss of death. I always liked the 91s and Mk4 sets. Was hoping they'd be around a bit longer.

Knowing what's coming thought i'd film these now before they start to get withdrawn or moved elsewhere.

"FANTASTIC" video Iain. You have done an incredible job on this one. I do hope the 91's are still around and in LNER livery next time I'm in the UK. Doncaster is such a great place for spotting but usually when I'm there I hop a train to Sheffield and visit Olivia's and Rails. Regards, David.
