I am 14, and I just got into boarding school, and I'm looking at acting colleges, including nycda, Ithaca, and trinity university. I want to act, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to do it. I've done 9 plays, and loved doing it. Idk why I'm putting this in the comment section, but I just want ppl to know that if you want something, go get it!😚😋

I’m 13 and I don’t come from a very wealthy background but I DO know I have a hunger for the Arts. I’m not from the US so I don’t have the ready access to opportunities but I’m looking at many different places to study drama! I just want to say thank you for your content and to anyone reading this, you got this! Listen to your gut and follow through. Nobody can make you go for your dreams except you. :)

i want to get into a performing arts school, because being an actor is my dream. the thing is, I haven’t done a play for anything and it’s because im too scared to, and my school hasn’t done anything that’s related to plays, besides in class. and im too scared that i will fail and teased at. but i hope i will make my dreams come true. :)

I will admit to myself I am a bit of a slacker but I am so determined to accomplish my dreams and I really want to make it to college and do an acting major and try to become a professional actress I don’t know what it is but every time I think I memerized my lines and I think I am ready and I try to act out a scene in front of someone I start stammering so I’ve started doubting myself

Hi, I'm auditioning for the film acting classes at NYCDA and I'm super excited! Is there any advice you could give for the audition and what is the monologue workshop like?
Pick a good monologue. Memorize it. perform it with confidence. pick a monologue or two that you feel you connect with. the character should be of similar age range to you! best of luck!
Do you know anything about New York Film Academy? I am trying to make my decision but its so hard! Do you recommend one over the other?

Hey, I really want to become an actress and move to New York. I have been looking for colleges to attend. However, I don’t have much experience or techniques. Since you attend one of these schools, are you required to know anything about acting? Or have any experience?
No, I d say select a good monologue. Memorize it and then find what are the similarities and differences between you and the character. A good monologue should be of a character that is of similar age range to you. make sure you are confident when you perform it. but auddition now.
this is my dream but i am so scared i think i am not enough and i will fail...

to live an extraordinary life, you must do extra ordinary things. If you are scared, it means that you care. Have your eye on the prize, do the work and be kind to yourself!

Hi! May I ask how you managed to fund your studies? Did you apply for a lot of scholarships? I would like to apply for fall 2021 // Dina from Sweden
I just got accepted they awarded me many scholarship with financial aid and I just had to cover 2,656 which spaced out to 8 months of payments
Apply for financial aid, go on showcases where they award scholarships, look foundations that give out awards to artists
Why am I out here watching these NYCDA videos as if I didn’t already graduate from there in 2020 😭??

I believe you have to do that test. It is to test your proficiency in english

no, but they do set you up for expectations. It is up to the actor to pull themselves up and do the work
Is it super expensive
it depends on many factors but, there are ways to get schoolarships and grants, it takes a bit of research

don't let that be an excuse, if you want it, go for it
Why did u choose a conservatory over college?
because as a conservatory program, all classes support the actors craft to acting. In traditional college we have to take science, math, english etc..
