Carol has actually spent her professional meteorological career being upstaged and, on more than one occasion, being up-ended by dogs.
Fortunately, she's a very jolly person who never takes herself seriously. 😂

1:20 I lost my leg when I was three. At around age 10 my parents took me skiing for the first time. I started skiing on two skis, but when I was around 24 I had a bad fall and sprained my knee. I was luck. One of the ski patrol told me he had a friend who exploded his knee. I decided to switch to skiing 3-track. One ski with outriggers, no prosthesis.
So, that's the back ground. When I was 12 or 13 I had an old fashioned leg (this was early 80's). The foot attached to the leg by a single bolt. This was fine so long as the bolt was tight. If it wasn't, the foot was free to spin around.
Well one day while skiing the bolt came lose and I fell. Coming to rest with my foot pointing the wrong way. Unfortunately an inexperienced ski patrolman saw me fall.
He had not yet witnessed a horrific ski injury and thinking this was what he was dealing with (on a child no less!) he sort of panicked.
He stayed pretty calm considering, but he also wouldn't listen when I tried to explain that I could fix it if he gave me a wrench.
All he said is it was going to take more than an Allen wrench to fix my leg.
I tried to explain my leg was fake but he wasn't listening.
Pretty quick I had a team there ready to help me, but none of them listened either. Fed up I finally just pulled my leg off to show it was fake.
Fast forward about 20 years. I'm now in my 30's and had been skiing 3 track for longer than I skied 2 track. I was skiing at the same ski area I'd had my "accident" on where I met a ski patroller (not the same guy from years before) who tells me about this urban legend that was told around the ski area. He finished off with, It's total bullshit of course, but still a good story.
I told him I agreed it was a good story, but told him it was actually true. I had been that kid.
His jaw just dropped open. He invited me to lunch because he wanted to "show me off" to his buddies.

A lot if these were from local news or the morning Breakfast programme, which are both a lot more casual in toke than most news programmes, so they'll have a bit kf banter more often. I see some people complain about it sometimes and I dont get it.
