    This has become my standard over the years, as I can create different size and shape tables pretty quickly.

    I don’t ever comment on videos. I felt compelled to comment regarding the sketchup staff and the supportive material that you create on a regular basis…
    If it was not for your companies interaction with their user base, I’m convinced that the number of new users would dwindle after the first year that they acquire a license.
    I get more from your little updates, live sessions, skill builders etc…
    Then I have from the six books that I purchased to learn sketchup. Yes, it’s a very simple program. But given the correct mindset, there’s almost nothing that you can not do with it.
    It is that intuitive approach, the mindset that I get from the people that generate the Content that make sketchup so powerful for me.

    This is a brainstorming philosophy. Whatever it takes to iterate ideas quickly... Once this is done then it can be adapted for actual parts and accuracy. I do near the same process.

    Hey Tyson,
    I often watch your videos to learn things or compare methods.
    I was interested to see how you progress in your iterations. And for once I'm not very enthusiastic about your method.
    When you draw a table this way, it's not easy to calculate the right dimensions. You constantly have to divide or multiply by two.
    What's more, in the end, when you want to produce a cut sheet with opencutlist, you first have to redraw the table with the full dimensions of the components. More wasted time.
    My method for iterations is to
    Create components / instances of each part.
    Create a component of the entire object (here, the table)
    Duplicate the entire object component
    And here's the trick: Lock the first entire object component
    Now that the entire object is locked, sketchup will systematically warn you when you ant to modify a copy or anything inside the copy. Just select "make unique" and you're good to go.

    The normal method for symmetrical objects. In 3ds max, this is done with the symmetry modifier))
