Me in 2007 Fluor Tower Penthouse: The view is awesome, top floor, you can see the Hollywood sign! I think I did a decent job organizing and making use of the space.

just got in today! what are the dorms at USC like? yours look really spacious and the red wall is just gorgeous but are all dorms like that?
AHHHH OMG CONGRATS !!!!!!!!! I can’t believe it’s been a year since I got my white box in the mail :’) I would definitely say that Fluor is one of the “nicest” dorms - we didn’t have to share a bathroom with the whole floor (only with our suitemates), there is air conditioning, and the rooms/common area are very spacious. In comparison to the other dorms I visited (I didn’t see all of them) I definitely think Fluor is the nicest. It is more expensive than the traditional dorms tho (maybe $1000-$1500 more per year). I would definitely say it’s worth it. As for the red wall, only 1/2 of the rooms in Fluor have it. If you are assigned to a room # that ends in A or B, you will not have the red wall and your room is slightly smaller than the rooms with the red wall. If your room number ends in C or D (mine was 1108C), you will have the red wall/the slightly bigger room. :)

@@mariannezhou5636 Ahhhh congrats!!!!!! That's so exciting :) I can't speak for the other dorms, but all of the bedrooms in Fluor have carpet and the common areas have concrete floors.

Ahhh thank you so much!!! I don't blame you, SC is an amazing school. :)
There are private rooms in Fluor, yes - each living floor (floors 2-11) have two single room setups (one of them is for the RA of that floor). So basically, as far as I know at least, there are 10 total single rooms in Fluor up for grabs for freshman. These rooms are completely separate from everyone else on your floor, so you would get your own bathroom and not share a common space with anyone else.

do most dorms in fluor have this view? I'm filling out the housing application tomorrow and would love something identical to this? Is there a specific room number?
A A Most of the high level floors have a pretty good view yes!!! Unfortunately, it’s all up to luck what room number you get - I completely lucked out getting floor 11 (the top floor). Unless they changed it from last year, you can’t choose what room you want :( But the views are still good even on the 8th floor!!! So hopefully you’ll get a higher floor :)
do u like request the suites or does college just assign you randomly
If you’re wondering about the suite-style dorms themselves, you have to let USC/your school know that you prefer living in a suite. So for me, I put Fluor Tower as my #1 choice because I knew I wanted to live in a suite-style!! Hopefully that helped :)

What is the bathroom situation like for the tower/suites
So here in Fluor each suite gets a bathroom to share with 8 total people - there are two toilet stalls, two showers, and 3 sinks. I am filming a video soon where I will show our lobby downstairs & the layout of the suites and floors, so definitely stay tuned for that!! 😁

USC was my dream school too! :)
Here is the link to the most recent USC freshman profile - admission.usc.edu/wp-content/uploads/Freshman-Profile-2019.pdf - it highlights all of the stats from USC's most recently admitted freshman.
As you can probably see from the profile, USC is definitely considered to be a highly selective school with a 16.1% acceptance rate (it was only 11% in 2018!). So technically yes, it is hard to get into USC. But, if it truly is your dream school...make sure to work your butt off on your application! For me, I spent countless hours perfecting my application essays and studying for the ACT, and I think my passion for the school ended up shining through my app and is ultimately what got me into SC.

Where do most of the college athletes or college football players live??
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure - I know there was a suite full of freshman baseball players in Fluor! But most of the people I met who lived in Fluor weren't athletes, so it's definitely not the "athlete dorm" by any means. Fluor is right next to one of USC's gyms though, so that might draw more athletes to Fluor!

Yes! The freshman dorms are open to students of all majors - I had a few friends in the School of Cinematic Arts that lived in Fluor with me :)

Hello beautiful my daughter got accepted into the dance program there and is interested in this dorm. How did you guys request the red wall room
Hi!!! Congrats to her, that’s so exciting 😊😊 Unfortunately, it’s all up to luck what room you get :( There is a 50% chance that she will get a room with the red wall, as there are 2 red wall rooms and 2 non-red wall rooms per suite. Either way, all of the rooms in Fluor are more spacious than the rooms in traditional style dorms, and the red wall rooms are only slightly larger than the non-red wall rooms. Good luck!!!! :)

Claire Mercier I'm sorry to bother you again, but can you tell me the correct size of a rug to get for the dorm room please. Thank you in advance
No worries!! I’m happy to answer any questions - I wish I would’ve had someone to ask last year! The rug we had in our room was 5ft x 7ft, and it fit between our beds perfectly. Other dorm rooms tho aren’t usually the same size as the ones in Fluor (Fluor rooms are typically bigger), so take note of that if she ends up dorming elsewhere :)

As for parties, I personally didn’t go to many, but I knew people who went to them Thurs-Sat like every weekend lol!! So you can definitely find them at SC :) It was fairly easy to make friends as well, especially during Welcome Week, so I would say social life is pretty good at USC. Hopefully that helped - lmk if you have any more questions!!!!

hahaha I don't know too much about interactive media majors - but I actually had to leave USC after one semester because I couldn't afford 4 years without going into a lot of debt 🥴🥴 Hoping to go back as a transfer though!!!
