    3D sculpting is a digital equivalent to traditional clay sculpting. You start with a piece of (digital) clay that you can push, pull, smooth, grab, pinch or otherwise manipulate. That’s cool and all, but it seems pretty difficult to learn, right? Well, there are several great, beginner-friendly use-cases for sculpting aside from making models from scratch. Let's take a look.

    I discovered sculptGL the other day. Very similar to zbrush but obviously no installation necessary since it's web based. Also seems a lot simpler, and I mostly use it to tweak models I made in solidworks. Stuff that's organic that's nearly impossible to model in solidworks (or not easily).

    • @christiansandrini96
      @christiansandrini96 Před 4 lety

      You will probably have to remesh it tho and increase the polycount sinché the stl export does not always make a topology that can support sculpting and you will end up with a ton of artifacts that will make your life a living hell

    • @Prusa3D

      Yes for sure! It's what I did in 1:58 :) Both Blender and ZBrush can import models, I suspect most of the other programs can as well. It's actually a pretty common workflow, to start with a model created with traditional modeling techniques. -Mikolas

      I just found mudbox to be overall less optimized than zBrush (or blender but I've used its sculpting workspace only once so I'm not that sure) to be fair. I have an old pc but I can still work fairly smoothly on meshes that have more than 10 millions of polygons whilst on mudbox I have kind of a 4 million cap. Mudbox's map baking system is definetly easier than zBrush but still no thing compared to stuff like marmoset or substance so I wouldn't recommend using any of the two for this purpose.

    34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
    37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Zbrush is the past, blender 2.91 is the way to go, isn’t me the one saying it just look at the funding brands behind INTEL AMD NVIDIA MICROSOFT FACEBOOK and dozens more, this is giving blender a money boost and is improving at light speed, the 2.91 version absolutely beats Maya Zbrush and marvelous designer all together, Ubisoft UNREAL engine are funding blender development as well, what this tells you???? Very simple the main players of the entertainment and technological industry already picked a side.
    The best advice for any hobbyist or beginners in 3D art and printing is to LEARN BLENDER and DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AMD MONEY in softwares like Maya zbrush marvelous designer substance painter and isn’t at all a better free software then don’t waste your time with them either 👆🏻🤷‍♂️
