I need to make one for mine, yours looks good. Do you have an STL that you can share?

Sure, I took one from thingiverse and tweaked it to my specific socket and switch. But I'll try to remember to upload it as a remix tomorrow

If I can get my program to a point of being reasonably easy to configure for the important variables that are lathe dependant then I would certainly sell it. just takes time to refine everything.

you need to stabilize that stepper motor son. I won't you to do a video on writing a sketch to cut threads in Arduino code i haven a need to convert my old lath. Arthritis is a pane to work with I think have spoke. before on the subject my age at 71 my Dislexcea masks it hard to keep up in tutorials you will be thinking your not doing so bad with this message It the computer writing it i just speak into it , yes i can ues a lath weld & even fix valve whip led joints carve cows & plough in my day i have worked in nuclear power plant's. putt up steel Building & heap of other jobs but now i need to build a [ELS] I can't down lowed clowd42. But i have managed to down lowd a Arduino Uno. sketch page & i have been following along in lot's of tutorials. but know-one yet as written a code for cutting thirds. let alone shown how to wright one for imperil thirds. will you do this for me Les .

I think the stepper is fine, there is some runout on the factory fitted locking nut on the end of the leadscrew. Rather than try to make everything perfectly concentric I just allow a little give in the mount. So long as there is no slop in the actual rotation then everything works great.
I am planning to do an updated video on the lead screw controller and I'll try to get into more detail on the thread cutting side. I'm afraid it gets quite complicated depending on the exact use case. basically it's a question of calculating a ratio of the input pulses from your rotary encoder to output pulses to the stepper motor to ensure you move at the right thread pitch. but that of course depends on your exact lead screw etc, mine moves 2mm per full rotation. but if you have an imperial lathe I would assume it would be a little different. That also makes it hard to give a one-size fits all sketch. if I can find some time I can try and do a deep dive on the technical side of the code.
