- AF Model F-22 Raptor by Banana Hobby
Introducing our latest marvel, the AF Model "Project 195" F-22 Raptor Turbine Jet! In collaboration with AF Model and JP Hobby, the Banana Hobby Team is thrilled to announce the successful completion of extensive testing and validation for this cutting-edge F-22 Raptor Turbine Jet. This magnificent F-22 stands as the highest scaled and largest foam F-22 jet on the market today. Designed at 1/10 scale for 8-10 size turbines, it boasts an impressive wingspan exceeding 51 inches and a fuselage length of 71 inches, setting a new standard for F-22 foam jets.
The AF Model F-22 is designed to mimic the flight characteristics of the real F-22 with its extremely robust structure to handle these extreme maneuvers. Featuring an operational range spanning from 8 to 13 channels, depending on your chosen configuration, it features a robust, heavy-duty, high-scaled retract and e-brake system designed and supplied by JP Hobby, an industry leader renowned for its top-quality EDF and turbine jet CNC components. As an additional highlight, the Y-Exhaust system, specially crafted by JP Hobby, has been meticulously engineered to authentically reproduce the sound of the actual F-22 twin turbofan engines, ensuring the most realistic experience possible. Preinstalled with GDW's proven-quality high voltage servos matched with reliable CNC metal servo arms, this jet showcases exceptional scale details and minimal wing loading, making it an ideal choice for scale training and extreme maneuvers, akin to its full-size counterpart.
The AF Model F-22 is not just a visually stunning replica; it's a high-performance RC jet with the lowest stall speed and one of the highest top speeds among foam jets. Whether you're an expert pilot seeking to perform extreme maneuvers or a trainer pilot looking for stable, high-alpha flight, this jet is designed to cater to both. It effortlessly handles maneuvers like Cobra and inverted Immelmans, yet can be comfortably cruised at lower throttle settings, making it perfect for those transitioning from smaller jet sizes.
We're pleased to offer two versions of the AF Model F-22 Raptor: The Turbine version is available for pre-order now, while the EDF (105mm) version is undergoing extensive testing and evaluation, with its release just around the corner.

Very nice. The F-22 is one of my favorite RC airframes to fly. It's nice to see a relatively large foam version of it.
I guess I just found my first turbine!!!! lol
Found mine
You pre order ?
Awesome 👍
Outstanding work gents! 👏
Beautiful flight Jeremy 😍
Thank you
Take out the drop tanks, Move the CG 5cm back, max out all deflection in stabs, mix stabs in taileron, mix flaps and elevator in elevon config and let´s see what this bird is really capable of!
A easy flyer now bigger!
This definitely needs a 100N or better... Plus the elevator position looks like the plane could use the tailweight. Win/Win. Great to see someone finally bring this airframe to us PNP! : )
10kg and up turbine would be better since pipe has big angles on it but tank is only 1600cc and flight times would be even shorter
@@neglg2353 Would've loved to see it with a 2000cc tank... Definitely has room for it, but hey...
@@fern6978 2liter tank I have in F16 only gives me 5 min safe flight time and that's only with sw80
I might be too hard on my throttle stick 😆
@neglg2353 Yikes... Yeah, Swiwin engines are garbage bro... Horrible lag too... I get a HOT 5 mins with my X-95 on only 1600ccs... It's awesome. Check em out.
@@neglg2353 1600 and 300 tanks are inside this jet
awesome !
Looks great! Have you pushed the setup for more aggressive maneuvers? or is it not recommended?
Looks good!!
Not like a real Raptor flies in the airshow. Gotta make some aggressive flat spins, cobra maneuvers, etc.
Need vector for that...hopefully manufacturer makes a kit
How much flap and elevator compensation does this model need with full flap deployed? Thx.
Nice.
You said your running spectrum 8 chanel receiver or 8 chanel transmitter ? The video blanked out at that moment moment
Vector Thrust is what we deserve!
Are you out at the Beuna vista air field? Definitely looks like Colorado.
Ogden Utah.
Is there enough room in fuse for a smoke system?
Not really unless you modify the second
Fuel tank for that purpose. Doing this will decrease your flight times btw 300 cc
What's the measurement between the mounting rails is for turbine placement? (Maximum) I want to know if this will fit a 90mm cased X-120 detuned.
4-1/8” but the entire wood area is 6”
With 120 your flight time will probably be like flying edf 3-4min
@neglg2353 The Xicoy turbines have incredible efficiency... Especially when they're tuned down. They're leading the industry right now... Check them out 😉
@@fern6978 I have x45 and it's great in my small foamies
@neglg2353 Yeah man, you'd love their X-95... It's a little rocket!
Will there be an edf version
Yes. Its spoken about in the video.
@@bananahobby great, had to watch it on mute
105mm edf version!!!
It should be 120mm imo
@neglg2353 Most definitely. Especially with the bifurcation losses and the clear need for a more aft cg. Win/Win with more fan options as well!
"for 8-10 size turbines"
Could you guys be any more vague? 8 to 10 WHAT ? Newtons, kilograms? Pounds? Stones? Bushels?
😮👍🫡
