Pick Up Limes walnuts! so delicious and I can go out and pick them up close to my place đ
Nuts! Obvi! And coconut milk in cooking. And infrequently dark chocolate.
Yes olives! Adore these đ
Wow under 50 views đ love being a subscriber đ
Peanut butter! Or any nutbutter. đ
first of all, adopt me. second of all, as a ~neuroscientist~ myself, i support eating the right fats in order to keep your brain cells healthy and myelinated!!
kkkk loved this intro
fellow neuroscientist here, I second that
@@dannyl3626 so if you use your brain more during work the more fats in food you should be eating?
There is a town in germany called Langen :)
Hey can you give me your feedback on your job? Im stuck between choosing to be a neurologist or a neuropsychologist. I know neither one is your job but, if you may, giving experience on this field of study will be appreciative.
Sadia, for years I have been battling an eating disorder. I went vegan for ethical reasons but I very quickly fell down the rabbithole of orthorexia, perfection and obsession. After watching Forks Over Knives and following many other vegan bloggers I decided being good wasn't good enough, I had to be perfect. I decided I would eliminate all sources of refined sugar, oil and salt from my food and guess what ... it had the opposite effect of intended, it made me not enjoy the healthy food I used to love (like kale chips, made with a bit of olive oil) and I ended up in endless cycles of binging, restricting and beating myself up.
I have only recently discovered your channel and I want to say thank you for the nuanced approach you take towards oils and other "bad" foods. The motto of nourishing the cells and the souls is so true and is helping me a lot. I am trying to be better and being better means loving myself and taking it easy on myself and forgiving myself. I am learning now that it's OK to add small amounts of oil, sugar, salt and other "bad" foods in moderation and this helps me stay on track and be much healthier overall. Thank you for teaching me this, to stop letting perfection be the enemy of the good. Thank you for your warm and loving and forgiving approach to wholesome nutrition that's helping me to fight off the bad habits of obsession. I appreciate you so much.
All the best S continue with the same spirit...
I understand what you are going through. I went through that when I was younger. Perfection in general is a bad idea. It almost always backfires because no one and nothing is perfect and we are out best selves when we just do that best we can and follow our natural instincts. and yea, those can get really screwed up with eating disorders. i'm so glad you found this channel to lead you back to health. she's leading me back too. we are so lucky to have Sadia. Good luck in you return to your natural and best self. I think the word perfect should be taken out of the vocabulary.
I had a very similar experience if you are interested I found the channel "Abbey Sharp" veryyy helpful for my orthorexia.
@@nicolemuthoni1971 you should add coconut oil to your diet.. it's a mct oil.. its great for liver (and overall ) health... eat fat.. it's a great thing.. and don't eliminate salt from your diet.. it's important.. don't miss on iodine and essential nutrients. .. do not forget to add more nuts and seeds in your diet..
@@science-y9209 Thanks alot for the adviceđ€.much appreciated I have noted that now that you've told me.
No wonder you take the right amount of time to upload your videos instead of straight away running into them... Your research and background work on the blog shows so much preparation and dedication! Proud proud!
Lots of love from India â€
Hi Sadia, my 6 year old son and I watched your video on our way to school. He absolutely adores you and after watching this one he told me " I got it mommy, when in doubt, choose what nature gives you" I think you've made your point across quite clearly my dear :) much love and appreciation from my future astronaut đ©âđ from Orlando, FL.
this is so adorable I'm gonna cry
That is so cute!! What a smart little astronaut in the making!
natusce This is the best comment I have read in a while đ
omg that is terribly sweet!!! what an amazing kid
You people are crazy
I have a huuuuuge childhood trauma. As a result I never truly learnt to love myself and with that I did not eat healthy at all... Someone once told me your body is at itâs best until age 25, after whitch the âbreak downâ process starts.
I have to honestly say that I could keep eating absolute crap until that age, and it didnât take long untill I realised I was getting love handles or my skins was more gray than usual or I felt even more sickly than I usually did. It was my body giving up, completely drained after being fed absolute sh*t for food, for ages.
For 10 years I had no self-love or self-respect. Until I met my boyfriend and he made me realise that I am good enough to be loved and to be respected.
Your recipes and videoâs have helped me so much in the past year. In times I had zero inspiration for what to cook and almost took the easy way and ordered takeout, I remembered you and your amazing cooking skills and saved the day đ
My favorite recipe is the one for the one-bowl chocolate cookies. By replacing half the sugar with coconut blossom sugar, it helped me get over my sugar addiction. I used to make a batch every week or so and whenever I had an urge to âuseâ (we handled it as a real addiction) I grabbed a cookie, knowing I made them myself with healthy ingredients and with a lot less sugar as the storebought kind.
Keep on doing what you do! You are an amazing woman with an amazing mind and you are a true inspiration to me. Thank you for helping in changing my life and my health for the better! â€ïž
Elke I am going through ptsd and this comment made me realize why I eat a lot of junk and not take care of myself enough. I still donât practice self love or self care but Iâm becoming more aware of my thoughts and some of my actions. Thank you for this comment and thank you Sadia for this video!
Until the age of 28, I've never practiced any sport in my whole life.I had no idea what a gym looks like. I used to eat whatever my mom cooks (which was not that unhealthy though) and once in college and living alone, I ate tons of sweets and takeout to avoid cooking. I started to gain weight - even though it was not obvious- my tights and belly stored most of the fat excess (hello cellulite), but mostly, I was feeling tired all the time! All I wanted to do was getting some sleep whenever the time was. Thanks to different internet and Ytube ressources (like this channel), I realized that it was not too late for my body to be in a better shape and my health to improve. I started Zumba, Yoga and then Kickboxing all at once! I became addicted since these activities looked more like a challenging game to me than physical effort (which I always hated). As the time went by, I learnt to be more aware about my nutrition and calorie intake. It was more about moderation and variation then restriction. Now, I am about to turn 32, I've never been in a better shape. EVER. I mean... I have abs :D I rock my fitness classes and I am about to compete in a local Kickboxing competition. A bit of my old cellulite is still there... but who cares! I can run 10 km now and... I have abs xD Long story short, it's never too late to become a better version of ourself.. whether we are 15, 25, 35 or 85 ; )
Dear Elke. Love and respect. Keep loving yourself because its you that matter the most before anything else in the world.
It was beautiful to read this! Congrats to you on your amazing journey and props to your boyfriend for being amazing!
Wow! Thank you for the comments and likes everyone!
Iâm nowhere close to where I have to be yet, but now I am finally aware of what Iâm doing and what I feel.
A year ago I was so numb. I saw the changes my body was making but I had the âfix-it-laterâ mentality and would just forget about it.
NOW I see my path clearly, I know what Iâm doing wrong.
Itâs been a hard couple of weeks as Iâm at that point where I usually give up and Iâm struggling so hard to hold on and keep moving forward. But I know that thereâs light at the end of the tunnel!
Itâs been hard physically and financially. Iâve started working out more intensely (I normally take long walks and bike to work) and my body is still screaming in agony, still wanting to go back to being a lazy potato and Iâm having pain in muscles I never even knew I had!
And DAMN, getting help is expensive! Especially if you have a super tight budget with zero marging...
But you have to endure, keep pushing until you reach your goals and dreams! â€ïž
Anyone else drooling over that perfect avocado? đ€€đ„
Sandra Silber me! Avocados make everything taste better in my opinion! đ€â€ïž
Sandra Silber yeah guacamole is my jam!
I get an instant migraine from them đ
I tried olive tapenade for the first time last night and it rocked my world! I'm going to be rethinking my relationship with olives.
Hahahaha, yasss!!! love it.
Happy Tuesday! Sadia, you have such a knack for making info digestible and fun and put it across in a way that you actually retain it! xx
Thanks so very much, Aminah! â€
This is so important, Sadia. Thanks for sharing! I went vegan when I was 16 and as I result I spend a lot of time watching videos about it. And almost every single video tells you to not eat fat, to cook without oils etc. I was young and had no experience in this topic, so I believed it. And I lost my period. It took me a lot to overcome my fear of fats and to finally regain a regular period. So I hope with this videos, you can prevent a lot of young girls out there from making the same mistakes that I did!
I cannot express how much I appreciate you and your channel! I love that you take a completely non-judgemental approach and relate to me as a friend. Of course, your recipes and nutrition advice are great, but your love for people and being a comfort shines through. Thank you for being brave enough to return to this project of Pick Up Limes. You are an inspiration and encourage me each time I watch one of your videos. Thank you
I have been so sad about what is going on today in our society, especially with animals and the environment and you, Sadia, and your channel are filling me with much needed comfort and hope. Much love and respect to you, Sadia. Your work is truly healing. Namaste.

Nut butters, avocado and chia seeds are a few of my top fav sources of fat. Great informative video as always!

This is really nice! So encouraging, and everything looks so tasty. Plant based living is so exciting when done right.
Very articulate & helpful. Sending lots of love!x
Thank you for another great video! Your content helps me not only as an indivifual but also with my work as a pharmacist, it is easier to talk about nutrition when I've heard it in an easy-to-digest-form. I love peanut butter and black kalamata olives and I even love them together. Perhaps the weirdest combo I enjoy is Finnish sour rye bread topped with pb, sliced cucumber and olives. Sounds super weird, but it works for me!
Nut butters and nut milks! Ugh cant get enough. I LOVE! đ
Thank you for all the amazing recipes x

Oh my God, this soup looks delicious! I love your videos - I love the fact that they are not too long, on point and that your positivity comes over too us. :-) Lot's of love and greetings from Germany!
I'm an agroindustrial engineer, and pretty much just work in te field of food science, so thank you for a video that talks the good and the bad! I want to have a diet that is at least 80% plant based, but as you have always said, i'm just starting slowly (started like almost a month ago), and your videos have helped and inspired me a lot! Thank you so much
A very informative and concise, well-put together video!! Its absolutely perfect, thank you!!
Wow !!! Beautiful n informative n let me just say the background is rocking. I wanna be there.
Sadia! I was the one that asked you a question about the topic of oils in one of your older videos, to which you replied and said that you would add it to your list of topics to cover. Thank you so much for answering my question â€ïž
I love you! can you please do a video on binge eating and how to get help with it? or even give me a source for help
Na hello, Sadia has already done a video on overcoming binge eating, it's in her Nutrition playlist đ
Something random that me helped a bit,was to whenever i found myself in a food rush to just drink loads and loads of water. Either i could go on because it simply fills your stomach and you dont feel hungry, or in those times where it never was about the hunger and simply about the endorphin rush i would drink some more really fast till i have this sickening feeling that simply just urges you and wanting to stop consuming anything for the moment. Not the most glamourous answer but effectiv.
I was like why Sadia has chosen such a mainstream topic to talk about but man oh man! I ended up having a lot more knowledge Fats and oils. Thank you for bringing amazing information always. Much love đ
Thank you so much for this!! :)
Thank you for the informative video! I love all your uploads! You seem so calm and give a peaceful vibe. I was wondering if you could do a video on how to get soft and shiny hair like yours or on how to maintain healthy hair and take care of it. Sending lots of love to you! đ
Love the new filter, Sadia!đđ»đ
I love avocado as my good fat! I also notice that when I eat it regularly, my skin looks better! I also like nut butter (almond, cashew)! đ
I'm in loveee with your mugs!!!
Thanks ,this was so helpful and informative âșïž
I really love it when you post motivational videos. Nonetheless, nutrition-related ones are good too. â€
You made me hungry đYour presentation is awesomeâ€ïž I want all the recipes you madeđ
