The Positive Energy Plane refers to the inner plane of positive energy. It does not refer to Celestia, Arboria, or any of the positive outer planes.
It’s kinda boring there, but the Positive Energy Plane is the plane from which healing magic draws its power. It’s counterpart is the Negative Energy Plane, which is where undead get their animating energy from.
In 5e, the Positive and Negative planes are around the Outer-planes, serving as the border of the Great Wheel, beyond which is the Far Realm
You behold Orcus on his throne GRIPPING HIS TERRIBLE ROD!
Across from him are paintings of Lolth, Malcanthet, and Tiamat's human sorceress avatar. You and him make eye contact. Embarrassed, he shuts the door on you. Both you and the demon lord agree to never speak of this again.
The wand regains 1d4 + 3 charges daily at dawn (also known as the refractory period).
I imagine he Orcus-strates a lot of his master plots with that wand in mind.

Did you know if you hit the Eye of Vecna with the Wand of Orcus they both get really mad? I found that out the hard way.
The Positive Energy Plane is a plane of existence, separate from the Upper Planes.

Its a mace, but it can change size, so you could make it a giants club and make it 3d6 base damage if the creature can hold a Large weapon

I’m not sure how much, if at all, the Positive and Negative Energy planes were covered in 5e, but they are separate, unique places outside of the other heavens/hells. Basically they are planes for pure radiant or necrotic energy, respectively. So basically you gotta have that bitch fried in the purest of pure radiant energy
The only thing I've ever seen about the Positive and Negative Energy Planes in 5e is that they are shown as sort of the outer rim of the Great Wheel cosmology.

@@abiggs4828, I really enjoy his lore videos. I think most of that information for those 2 in particular is coming from older editions, though.
@@brianroberts783 while that's 100% the case, I dont know that 5e changed the cosmology, more so that they just havent gotten around to fleshing out nearly as much as some older additions did. I consider these kinds things as "cannon until proven otherwise", but thats just me.
The positive energy plane is not one of the celestial heavens. It's a plane of positive energy the opposite of the negative energy plane

I'm playing a Warlock whose patron is Orcus and his ultimate goal is to retrieve the wand, so this was so helpful!

Ironically I made a campaign recently as a complete noob to D&D where the players will need the heart of Tiamat to destroy another demon artifact. Turns out I do not have original ideas haha. Lots of good info this podcast is for real ones. Shout out to Dragon.

I like how 4d10 does not seem like too much at Higher Levels but when thinking about it in world a commoner has 1d8 Hp so your enduring a headache strong enough to fell a commoner 5 times over

And really Orcus just wants peace and quiet. He just wants to be the last person in the room. Alone with his self loathing and smelly wand. He doesn't want to clean it anymore.
