Whatever happened to the days when startups began in someone's garage
It evolved due to the big names giving out seed money.
ask to jeff bezos
This is Softbank's doing masa son created this. Even if startup goes belly up the founders walk away set for life.
Working out of a garage is an essential ingredient to eventually being an Apple or Amazon. Nowadays startups have lavish jets and throw massive parties.
Garages now are converted to bedrooms due to high rent.
It was the noise and distractions that drove me out of co-working and into a private office hire. I love the concept but not the reality.
haha I saw a video of a programmer in Seattle - a wework - with a private office and he was really proud of his noise cancelling foam that he had installed covering all available wall space. I thought... ok, that's one way to do it
Well I guess it's not for everybody. Different folks with different strokes. 😎
🤨 Why not just build a business from home? With no distractions, no monthly payments, no driving, no commuting, and no time wasting. You can socialize with your friends on weekends, go to Starbucks for coffee if you must get out for a while, and you network JUST AS WELL from your computer!!! It’s 2020...! Focus kn building a business, not a group of cool friends who spend money monthly that could be going back into their startup! Just saying.
Silicon Valley is not all now. You can work anywhere as long you have the skills, equipment, and good internet.
also you need invesment and you are taking for granted that in america is kind of easy to set up a start up but in many countries takes a lot to be desire so silcon valley is the best option
This video was two years ago...work from home is a must today because of the pandemic.
Thing is, these spaces are mainly in main cities such as London, New York... Which are already very expensive to set up/live in
That's a great point. Where would you like to see more of these spaces?
CNBC International...small cities where there is a lot of scope for entrepreneurial development and growth.
It's really tough. Operators need to know there's sufficient demand for sufficient scale. Meanwhile, big landlords who can help finance these build-outs are less often in smaller cities. If smaller cities want to get on the map, the city itself may have to lead this effort, rather purely from private entities.
Start your business here in Manila... You can start with Builtable Coworking, builtable.co.
I live in a tier II city in India. Here I pay about ₹3500 per month (75 usd a month per seat).
Optimizing resources should never stop
We believe in co-working spaces! We also help keep the balance between social work time and quiet spaces when you need them the most!
Coworking is just one of the buzz words.
It emerges out of nowhere and vanishes like a cloud.
Why is that.?
Wework is definitely over-valued.
No it isn't. Real Estate almost always grows in value over time, that's all Wework is.
@@robaustin_ we work does not buy Real Estate.
they just rent it.
WeWork buys real estate, that's part of their business model. I definitely think it's overvalued though
this answer aged well
@@robaustin_ look how foolish you look now
Constant stress which is invisible+ constant distractions, companies want to save money at the expence of the health of the workers,so people should fight for their rights and not swallow such "improvements"
very intriguing!
My office was open space and I barely contrate most of the time, so I just plug earphone to minimize the distraction, yet it works but sometimes workmates sometimes just distract me.
Facts and often these have bad design ergonomics wise and such.
CNBC is the king of youtube! Honestly
There are plenty of good co working spaces including good office chairs and where people come to really focus on their work. But also a lot (example Wework) where the vibe is more important than the work itself.
This is one of the best informative youtube show I know.
Informative youtube channel to subscribe, if you wanna add..
Uptin's videos are always well made
Your videos are really awesome CNBC International.
I ❤❤❤❤ your channel, truly. 😘😘😘
Coworking spaces may be gaining popularity, but it's important to critically assess their long-term viability. They may not suit every profession, can be expensive, and the rise of remote work raises questions about their future relevance.
Who came here after seeing the downfall of wework?
It is very hard to run a startup like this without a good loan or inheriting a lot of money, especially where these places are, which is in big, EXPENSIVE cities.
"Srart up like this"... start up like what?
@3:53 i remember this clip on shutterstock xD
Caught😅
Any other landlord can apply the same business model...
Incredible , thanks
Always very useful video
This is so out of date, especially after the WeWork IPO disaster.
It is a great idea.
Really a good idea. thinking to start in my country.
Pratik I have a similar idea ,if interested to discuss let me know.
@@myindia_news oyo has already opened and acquired some co-working space
If you're an independent contractor, coworking spaces are definitely worth at least looking into!
So great! I also work in a co-working space and I love it! Such a great environment and to be productive!
What do you do
I don't think co working is the future for long. The reason is cost. Its against the overall concept of Entrepreneurship or Startup. Yes might be a good option for large companies. In major towns the cost of a hotdesk is as high as 25k INR per month. And if you have a team of less than 20 people there are no special pricing. So just imagine 4 people are paying 1250 USD at the start of business. Its killing.
what what a nice choreography. who is the director of this video?
Wework at south korea ?
Great idea u can really grow fast
I prefer the traditional offices
Why did SE Asia did not include Philippines?
Using WeWork as a major point in this video is pretty disconcerting given recent events.
I love your content, why don't you upload daily?
We love that you love our content. We are actually in the process of building up to uploading daily. Just a few more team members to get in place, and you'll see a lot more from us!
Co-working is the perfect way for me to be able to work concentrated during my travels. I have also met many great people in Co-working Spaces.
Nice
tell you something what destroys productivity is working at home you get depressed, lonely and want to sleep all day, I'll try coworking this time
4:05 true
They say they need co work place to work efficiently , no distractions from home and noise. But eventually it's like u work with people around from different startups but obviously there's noise and talking and discussions done which will gradually disturb ur mind. also if u work from home then there's no queue over there to have coffee or at dining area where u can find the same in such co work place. NOT FOR ME. I would rather prefer home .
Nope it's working from home
And at the end of the day. My overhead is ways beyond my means for living the lifestyle
I love Uptin! You can tell he is a true creative
How are these spaces affected by COVID-19 and the restrictions surrounding it? Are they still seen as a good idea?
I like to co-work at my local starbucks!
I like to co-work at my local library! A lot cheaper than Wework!
@@cgasucks true, a lot cheaper and performance
If WeWork launches an IPO I’ll short. Their business model will fail during a economy.
Dung Nguyen good vision
CV19: hold my beer
I first read that CowWork 🤣
315 a month ? HA! NO!
Even traditional office has open space and plenty of distractions. It would have been good to see comparison of time wasting with traditional office vs co working space.
For small business this concept makes sense, imagine no brokers, no travelling to search for office, negotiation with owners, buying furnitures etc, no admin work (like tea coffee, opening/closing of office doors, security) ordering takeaway meals and plenty more (internet not working etc), These are real time wasters. THIS CONCEPT IS HERE TO STAY AS THERE IS SAVINGS AND BENEFITS FOR ALL.
cost of of those tiny private offices is just ridiculous ..all because they give u free internet
Philippines is one of the fastest growing economies here in South East Asia. If you guys are planning to start a business here, you can start at Builtable Coworking, visit their site at builtable.co.
2:11 when you highlighted southeast asia why is the Philippines not included?
Croissant it.
nah the most brilliant of technology geniuses prefer never meeting you in person and prefer private spaces.
I work in we work & Iam happy to be a part of it
Why is the boom unstoppable?
Background music a little bit too loud and annoying
Covid: No you peasants
Shared office suite rentals have been around a long time; wework just calls it "coworking space" and added nice graphics, coffee and beanbags. Very easy to copy the concept and cut the prices. I don't think this will work long term.
I'll buy that for a dollar! :)))
2:10 Papua is Indonesia, therefore they are South East Asia !!!!
Happy tot talk to anyone here about coworking and it's impact. You can reach out via my LinkedIn page search 'Alex Ahom'.
well well well, corona had something else in mind.
Why not doing that in a cafe?
becauuuuuuuse , in coworking spaces you can CO work :p seriously, you'll have a chance to meet up with all kind of experts, startuper, designers... and you can have meetings with customers, expecially for a freelancer who needs a stable place to have people in :D
Hiba Imene I can doing all that in a cafe
none of what you have described is actual work. It's more like playing/pretending to work.
You sure can. Cause you are a sensible person. Unlike those wanna bees who feel up those "special" places "waiting to meet experts"...
Yup. A real bussinessman always thinking about lowest cost.
Most of those entrepreneur will probably never big in this type of working space.

And they all live in same apartment floor. No escape.
of course coworking is cheap you're surrounded by noisy teammates, if you're expecting it will increase your productivity, you're naive xD
Ui
NO!
What are the quirky songs in this, lol?

Serious businesses and coworking space don't match.
Look at these technophobes with their Apple crap.
Yup....too much distraction. Cramp. Noisy.
No privacy.
Shen my client knows we E in coworking space, we are deemed to be small, insufficient and.....a joke.
Well this vid is not age well
Inez Qtaish is writing saying " GOD is strict punishing evildoers, punish abominators, evildoers who are fighting , lying , trying destroy me is not Trump.
I come from the future, of co-working is the future, it is not with wework.
Now I have to be back, I am going to celebrate New year's at a beach in MuskPole, Mars.
Bye
im s o sick of this gimmick in tech. LISTEN open concept coworking spaces are trash and done to save the company money and have an eye over everyone. Online and remote is the future, not coworking in crammed bean bags and shit.
Nah
this is NOT the future anymore
Failed miserably
Hahaha was this vid made by a new startup at a coworking space?
oh, wework, lol
lol...with covid...pandemic...
everyone work from home...
