    The way I used to play was the second to last to finish was the vice asshole. Then the president could ask for whatever 2 cards he wanted that the asshole had to give and trade them for whatever 2 cards the president wanted to give him. In addition the VP and the VAH would do the same thing but they would only trade 1 card instead of 2.

    There are a number of variants to this game. The way we play you are not allowed to "equalize", you must beat the card or cards on top, and each player only has one chance per round, and you can only play singletons on singletons, pairs on pairs, etc.

    This was always a college drinking game for us in the 90s. Each round that a president repeated win, they got to make a rule (so long as it doesn't impact the rules of the game). When there was a new president, all the temporary rules were wiped clean due to the change of office. After each round, everyone had to change seats to reflect their rank of office except the president.

    we played a version of this game in rural Australia a lot and kept teaching people how to play in New Zealand. It was renamed Sloppy, with no President, but the last player is "Sloppy" or "sloppy dog" and the first ranked player is "the bitch." At times making sloppy adorn a hat to mark their status. It is very similar but 2s are just higher cards not "clear cards," though they do usually win a round. You also use the Queen of Spades as the trump card which can win a round when it is played. Suits are not acknowledged, only the numbers. Jokers are wildcards. You can play in rounds of doubles, triples or quadruples. Triple 6 is known as the Devils cup and it can beat anything but the Queen of Spades.
    In New Zealand people started inventing their own version again, insisting it was now "kiwi rules" and you can now "ghost" on the matching card number, changing the number of cards that has to be put down in that round. If you stop this ghosting pattern, by putting higher cards multiple cards on top you are calling ghost busters. Sometimes you would know what was going to happen just from someone humming the ghost busters theme.

    I played a really stupid variant of this game at school when we had lunch. It was probably altered to make it more fun. So basically we renamed clear cards "Nukes", Shoved a bunch of things from poker into it, such as straights, waterfalls, and full houses which could basically beat any double. Straights under a certain amount of cards (I forgot) could be cleared with a single 2, while anything higher (Including waterfalls and full houses) Had to be cleared with a joker. It was really confusing. After the game, the President could ask the a-hole (Renamed "poop" so we wouldn't get in trouble) for any 2 cards they wanted, other than clear cards. If the A-hole had those cards, they would have to give them to the president. If they didn't, the president asks for another 2 sets of different cards. This went the same for the vice president and the second last player to finish but with just 1 card. We also had a "trading" Session before the game started to ask for any cards we needed to complete full houses, straights, etc. It was pretty dumb, but it was either this, or read a book.

    I might be wrong but this is basically Daifugo. The "rankings" or titles are just different. There are different variations for Daifugo and there really isn't a right way to play it. There are basic rules that are always followed for every variation but you can choose to add or remove any variations from the game, which I think makes the game a lot of fun. You can simplify the game or make the game more fun/difficult depending on what rules you want to use.

    We play a variation of this game which doesn’t include the rule of being able to clear by completing a set of 4. Instead we have a consecutive and also a 10 as up or down. How it works is if NO.1 places a 4 and NO.2 places a 5 then NO.3 has a 6 and places it down on the pile they can call consecutive which means that NO.4 and so on has to place the card of the next value ONLY so it would have to be a 7 then a 8 and so on. If no one can do so the last person the place a card clears the pile and starts the next round as per. With the 10 being a higher or lower card the person who places a 10 gets to say wether the next players cards can be of high fee or lower value the player after them can also chose to keep going down or start going back up, this helps when you are near the end and you may have a feeling the next player has high cards this also can stop them from playing a 2.

    At time 1:59 wouldn't player 3 play the pair of Kings onto the pair that's on the top of the pile. You played a 2 from player 6, I think, but anyway player 3 can play out of turn because he's making 4 of a kind, getting rid of 2 cards as opposed to 1 on whoever played the 2. Which brings me to ask who has the power the next player or the person playing the 4 kings

  • @chelsey_2727
    @chelsey_2727 Před 2 lety +1

    Me and my friends play differently I think our rules are less confusing and easier to play with
    How to play:
    Card order: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, jack, queen, king, ace, 2, joker
    How we play: 3 of spades starts the first round you can place as many cards as you want if it’s the same card (for example starting with 3 threes meaning you’re playing triples) let’s say the person does play triples that round has to continue with triples (doubles, Quadruples and singles)
    That round ends when someone ends with, to end it, it’s either not one goes anymore, you end it with the same thing (let’s say someone puts double 5s you can end it with another set of double 5s it is your turn) the last thing you can do to end it is place a 2 ( one 2 for singles and doubles 2 for triples and 3 for quadruples) the only thing that can end 2s is a joker, jokers are the highest card in the game and can end anything except a card that has been ended by the same card. Now that I’ve explained the rules of the game now the objective of the game is to finish your cards first (let’s say there are 6 people playing) the first person out is president, second is Vice President, third and fourth are neutrals, fifth is vice bum and sixth is bum. These roles mean something for the next round, president gets bums 2 highest cards and president gives bums their 2 lowest and for Vice President and vice bum same thing except it one high and one low, neutrals keep their cards, bum also starts the next round with anything they want.
    I’m very sorry if that’s confusing and doesn’t explain the game well but I hope you guys have fun with it! (If you have any questions I can answer them in the reply’s)

    Nice tutorial! By the way I've tried this game by myself and there are some parts that I seemed lost:
    1) So basically any pair of cards can beat any ranks of single card; let's say Player A discard a single 6♣ then Player B discard K♠ but then Player C beat K♠ with a pair of 6s, is that correct?
    2) If that's correct, then there are already three 6s in the discard deck right? Which the 6♣ card is beneath the K♠ and two other 6s are on top of the K♠ ; if this happens, is it still allowed for other player to discard another 6 to make 4-of-a-kind?

    • @GatherTogetherGames
      @GatherTogetherGames  Před 7 lety +8

      +Fadilla Sativa It is correct that a pair of 6s will beat the king. The 4-of-a-kind is not allowed because the king is in the middle. The 4-of-a-kind has to be played in an uninterrupted sequence.

    Can I use three of a kind to beat a single card?

  • @Father_Earth
    @Father_Earth Před 4 lety +1

    I play this game rather differently. We use 2's as wild cards that act as a blank card that you can put anywhere but you don't give them an actual number. You just play a 2 anywhere then the next person can play anything after that including doubles or triples/depending on how we feel that day you might only be allowed to play singles after a wild. Red 10's are clear cards and red 3's are the highest cards. Since red 10's and red 3's are used differently you only need to play the two black cards of each to clear them. The 3 of spades starts the game and the person who has the 3 of clubs has to try to jump in and clear the pile before the next person plays since in this version the 3 of clubs is the worst card and hard to get rid of if you don't do so at the start. We also don't play it where doubles/triples are higher than singles/doubles. You can only play doubles/triples if you clear it then put them down or if you're jumping in to clear the pile. Once you play a double/triple the people after you have to play doubles/triples or a clear/wild card. If no one can play it clears back to you. You can also choose to pass at any point and depending on how we feel you either do or don't have to play a wild/clear card if you have nothing else that can beat or match the previous person's card. Also it's up to you whether or not you decide that you're allowed to pass when you have a clear or wild. Wild cards can always be played and you don't need to play multiple wild cards even if the current round is doubles/triples. You can still jump in to clear the pile at any point before the next person puts their card down and skipping is still the same. If 2's or red 10's are the last cards that you have then you hold them up in the middle of everyone and anyone can grab them from you (try not to rip the cards). In the next round the loser has to give the president their best card and the president can choose to give the loser whatever card they want.

    What is the advantage of the vice president?

  • @Narj3zh
    @Narj3zh Před 4 lety +1

    Here is the real way,
    You try and get rid of all your cards.
    Asshole is the last person to get rid of his cards, vice asshole is the 2nd last vice president is 2nd and president is 1st. Asshole gives president 2 cards and the vices give 1 to each other lower ranks must give highest card. I You can play what ever card you want all game until no one can play anymore. The are no skips or matches. When there are doubles you must play a higher double no triples. Only thing you can use is a 2 to clear out deck. A 2 must only be used to clear out singles or doubles, or as a wild card a wild card only serves as one. Who ever wins the round starts the next one

      +Maverick Moo You could potentially play with 2 players, but the game is really for more players. If playing with 2 players, deal 13 cards each.

    Wait three 3's beat queens? Nah I dont play like that, that's too confusing. I just play a card that's higher then the card. Or doubles. And I dont play with points. Game is over when all played their cards. N we dont call the last player a hole. We call them hobo. N we clear if no one can play a card. And no matching skips

    In a 4 player game..
    Player 1- President
    Player 2- vice president ( played his last card ♠A)
    Player 3- have a 5❤ ( can't beat player2 card & pass)
    Player 4- have a 7♣ (can't beat player2 card & pass)
    What's now in this condition...
    What about player2's card ♠A
    And who's going for next card to play player 3 or 4 ?

    • @GatherTogetherGames
      @GatherTogetherGames  Před 6 lety

      After the ♠️A is played, player 3 passes, then player 4 passes. Since all remaining players passed, the middle cards are cleared. Play resumes with player 3 to play the ♥️5.
