12:03 in the video is interesting. You are putting the magnet towards the front side of the lock, which is the reverse of where it usually goes to unlock it. The magnet usually goes to the back side of the lock, where it is attached the to the cabinet, to unlock. But it still worked on the front side! That was unexpected, but helps me in a possible project where I'm hoping to use a magnetic lock on a door that opens the reverse from a standard cabinet (pushes into the cabinet instead of pulling outward). Now thinking I could possibly use the lock component on the frame inside of the cabinet, and the strike plate on the door itself, and the magnet (if doubled) might still work to unlock it, if aimed at the front of the lock, through the door panel. Was thinking if I use a steel strike plate and screw to attach it (instead of the plastic), it might help conduct the magnetism even better to the lock front to unlock it -- but then you showed the issue of nails and other metals unlocking the mechanism. So, maybe that would leave it permanently unlocked. Now I'm wondering if all safety baby locks get unlocked if near nails, or if it's just this brand. Seems like it would depend on if they make it with the lock or the key containing the magnetic part.
What if there is no frame in between the drawers, like the drawers just sit on top of each other with the guide rails holding them up, I would have to attach the strike to the bottom of the drawer above, any tips on this?

Unfortunately these do not fit my Kitchen Maid cabinets. The inside of the cabinet door has a 2" piece of wood across the top so that only 1/2 of the lock is able to stick to the inside wood. I would need a 3/4" thick plastic strip to fix...not practical. Is there a better way to do this?

Video only suggest customers can use shims and spacers in rare circumstances where they need to make tight spaces work within their cabinets. Those who have access to a miter saw and/or table saw can cut these wooden pieces as needed. Pre-sanded 1” x 2” wood strips can be used, and we initially bought the long wooden stir sticks for 5-gallon paint buckets. These paint stir sticks work very well and only need to be cut to the necessary length. Most hardware stores also sell the 3M double-sided foam mounting tape rolls with the green checkered film on the back of the tape. Hope this helps.

I am having issue where when I try to lock with the switch the catch no longer moves up?
