I’ve just bought and installed a set of these on my hardtail :) they’re pretty impressive, last set of air forks I rode were rockshox recon and these certainly feel pretty good
Hey man we agree. For the money, we think they are hard to beat. I absolutely abused these forks, and they actually got better, kind of like I broke them in. Thank you for some feedback from someone else. We got some more budget stuff coming, so stay tuned, and keep us updated on those forks, if you will. Thanks brother, and don't be a stranger.
Thank you guys for the videos. It's the only place I can find true low-budget fork reviews. I'm disabled with a broken spine and have had multiple back surgeries. I'm rebuilding a 2017 Diamondback Recoil 29. I am a total newbie to mtb. But I need to ride a bike to strengthen my back.
And I'm looking for a cheap air fork for comfort. Thank you guys for your videos.
Man thank you Anthony, sorry to hear about your back brother. The lotus hopefully will suit you and your recovery well. That's an I inspiration to us all you getting on a bike and rehabbing man, good luck on a fast recovery for the 2021 year! Hope all is well and if you got any questions holler. When your done would love to see some pics man. Let us know, see you Tuesday, we got a budget crankset video coming out on our 29 Taff. Thanks for finding us.
Thank you for this video! I looked everywhere for reviews on these forks but so far you’re the only one! I ordered one and installed it today! Looking forward to your update videos!
Thank you so much for the support and glad im not the only one who freaks out when i see a video on a product know one else is doing !!!!!!LOL Hope you stick around and watch Tomorrows video on my BUDGET tires and all videos to come brother:)👍👍👍👍👍
Do they still work, Just wondering about the durability of theses
Hey brother I busted them!! LOL But please watch the budget fork SHOOTOUT we explain and rate them! Thanks man
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOSI was wondering how they ended up breaking for you? Was it some big gnarly jump? Or just quality of the product?
Thanks!
@David Trahan Man the Lutu's lasted about 5 months of severe abuse and then we believe a seal blew out during some riding, but we were able to finish the ride. We might actually try to fix it some day when it is much easier and cheaper to get random parts for it. We actually rate the Lutu's along with other forks and give some info in this video here: czcams.com/video/dHpfOEbwkAo/video.html
Awesome vid again ordered A Suntour XCR 32 LOR for 139!! From Taiwan will be here Monday. Definitely be watching your install video for the Lutu like other install videos to get it done, thanks again for the help!
right on Man!!!! Thats great! Have fun installing them and be patient. Hope you are successful brother. WOOHOOO!!!!
Great video as always. Y’all are f••kin awesome together
That's my kind of comment. Thank you for your f**king support.
Just purchased this LUTU 120mm to replace my seized up RST coils, can't wait for the update, great videos.
Well Congratulations Joe! Thats exciting, hope they are good to you like they are me!!! Let us know if you got any questions brother.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Is there any type of pdf manual for servicing them? Can't wait to try them out.
Ohhh...dont know brother, I wouldent think so them not being a huge plater in the game. But I will have to take them apart and let you know ha ha
Thanks for the update! Lol loved the intro too
No problem man! Thank you for asking and watching! ;)
Wow.. Bro your video getting better and better.. The vioce over the drone cam the two screen.. Most I love is the voice over you and your dad causes got two opinion.
Hey thanks man. It feels good when people notice all the work that goes into the video, and especially feels good if they enjoy it.
Dude your photography is amazing. Great channel.
Thanks man!
Man, hard to believe the condition of that trail now compared to this video! It needs some big time maintenance, we rode it yesterday and there were so many loose rocks, had are back tires bouncing and death grips on the bars. Great vid!
Dude I know! They are so rough now, it's a bummer. That and they have changed it a little here and there. Also surprised you or the family did not get a flat coming back!! LOL
Good job for the honest review. keep it up.
Thank you and got a new KRSEC fork video coming out Tomorrow!! Appreciate the comment Nelisa
Great review of these forks! I have the same ones on my Giant Talon hardtail. I had mine to soft and was bottoming out as well. I increased the air pressure and boom they came to life! They are a little stiff now, but I like that for jumping and I can feel the trail. I set the rebound to be a little slower so they are stiff when I jump so they don’t take away my momentum but when I land they really soak it up and the rebound pushes back up at a good speed so it doesn’t jerk you.
For sure man, these forks are or were an amazing deal and we put them thru HELL!! 👹
Yup a comedic duo lol...you can tell you guys get along great and love each other...it’s nice to see! Take care guys ttyl 😁👍
Thanks alot Jason, we appreciate you watching us do silly things man, really.
Well of course....need more people like you on CZcams!!! Yw 🤙
Hell yeah☝
This is great! Am really enjoying all these upgrades on the GT... Gives us new faith in our bikes. We just ordered Raceface Chester pedals. Supposed to be here tomorrow. That's the first start. After that I'll be looking at tires. So REALLY interested to see what "Budget tires" you found.
I just purchased the Minion SS 27.5 x 2.3 on my GT aggressor pro and I love them, good rolling speed and cornering. They're on sale for $69 for a pair of tires on eBay.
@ AJ ScooceyWow! Dude that s a steal!Especially right now, you need to buy me a pair too!!!!!:) Just wait for my new tire install/review. Next Friday man!!!!
Man thats awesome! Glad there was some inspiration on our channel for yall!!! Now be prepared for when you start to upgrade. You will get the BUG brother!!!!!!
Installed my new Rock Shox fork and some Maxxis Minion tires and, I must say, it is a HUUUUUUGE difference. The fork is so smooth and responsive compared to that stiff Suntour XCT. And the tires are a game-changer. I have so much more confidence. Feels like a whole new bike. Thx for the videos, man. Keep it up!
Hell yeah Keahi!!!! Dude thats so great to hear, im glad your project is coming along . Hey man if you dont mind please email me some pics? Would love to do some channel stuff from subscribers projects. If you dont mind jwolfmanc32@gmail.com
Will do. That’s a great idea. I bet your followers would love sending you the pics of their upgrades.
Yeah I have asked a little here and there maybe some videos in the winter time would be cool to showcase some peoples bikes.
Hey man this is the old guy. I just wanted to say I love your GT. I like clean and tasteful upgrades that fit the bike, and yours is just that, super clean...Good job sir.
Thanks, Wolfman! I like how the bike turned out as well. Black ‘n blue. Absolutely love your videos. I look forward to watching every week. You guys are entertaining and I have learned so much. I’ve been inspired to try doing some upgrades. Bought some tools and watched the videos over and over. Thanks for all your hard work.
Awesome! like the air, you got with that fork. using your video I changed my crankset to a 1X 8 34T oval.
so far I love it. can't wait till your tire video I'm gonna need that before anything else. love the entertaining content guys. Mahalo!
Appreciate it brother! Hope you stick around and continue to watch. Later buddy👍
I put a set of Lutu forks on my Schwinn 29er Santis and found it to be money well spent. WAY better than the heavy coil forks that came with the bike. I am not riding down any mountains. Just street and simple trails, but I feel like I could do just about anything with it if my body were up to it. Thanks for the review!
Hey man thank you! I appreciate the comment and you watching a product you already own. Get out there and get it!!!!! The body will heal LOL
Did you change the cassette? I have a santis that I did a 1x change to but now I want a wider cassette but dont know my iptions
@@chrissr318 Yes. I rebuilt the whole bike. I bought a wheel with a freehub and a 11-42 10sp and matched it with Deore 10 speed and Deore shifter. It cost a few bucks... If you want to keep it cheap, there is a 12-34 8sp freewheel available that will work with your stock derailleur and wheel and chain. Going to give you a heads up for another option if you really want a tougher bike and get a better value...save your pennies and buy a different bike. The Vitus Nucleus is a fantastic value, for example. vitusbikes.com/collections/nucleus
Just installed the same shock on my aggressor pro. My front brake cable seems maxed out, did you extend yours?
Well I upgraded to hydraulic brakes remember? So if you have the same brakes then no, they are fine actually. I did cut down my rear hose because it was too long. Maybe go to a bike shop and ask for housing and or cable. Shouldent be too much if you still are running the mechanical.
Looking at these forks to upgrade my sons mtb, 26 inch fork and front wheel, 24 inch back wheel, do these forks have a nasty knock when you pop wheelies or lift front wheel to drop off, great video man!
OOOOHHHHHHH:) MULLET?? ha ha been wanting to try ha ha love it:) They dont have a nasty knocking sound but there is a slight one. If you keep the rebound fast it doesnt trip man. Thanks for watching and commenting brother and hope you and your boy stick around!!! May want to checkout Todays video if you havent??? We have reviewed the KRSEC 100mm $126 forks? Thanks man! Hope yall watch SUNDAYS video and enjoy as well:)
What is the actual travel distance you measure from the travel o-ring to the dust cap after a bottom out (remove all air) and the holding the front in the air (for full extension)?
Hey man I havent measured but I would say the o-ring is about 90-95mm from the dust cap after being fully bottomed.
UNO brings back good memories... Love the channel... and the bike stuff
Thanks alot Jag! We try and get it all out there, Gold i tell ya!!:) Thanks for watching.
Add some volume reducers and it can help to make the fork stiffen up as it compresses the lower it goes. If you like how it feels plush, the way you have it, without worrying about bottoming out, then that's what you need.
Not a bad idea. May look into that? Thanks Brian:)
Sounds like you may have you rebond set to high but it really all up to you how you feel on the bike . I would close the rebond and work my way to what feels right
Appreciated DJ as always that sounds good to me. May go up in pressure 85 to 95?
I ended up flying back down to Las Vegas this week to install the Lutu on the Axum, not as easy as I thought it would be. Getting the crown race off was a bear, it went through four box cutter blades and two sliced fingers to break it loose. Jessica assisted with the final assembly. The Axum wheel was way off center to the left, so far to the left that the rotor rubbed the caliper mounts. I flipped the axle nuts, thick one on the left with a washer, thin on the right and all was almost well. Turns out one of the axle cones was buggered, so I replaced both. The Lutu performed great except it did little for the Las Vegas heat, We have to ride no later than 7am. 100 by 8 or 9. It's 11:04am, in 56 minutes I will crack my first beer.
A shout out to the local Giant bike store who offered to pop the crown race, gratis, with the proper tool, but real men don't need help and mess up a chance to bloody up their hands.
😂😂 Sounds like working on a bike!! LOL Thanks for the Story brother:) Glad you were able to get some more seat time.
These guys are great!
Appreciate it man! I tend to think so as well LMAO. Thanks for being a public Subscriber man! It really helps
Geez bro you got some crazy air at that park. Took that fork through hell. 20mm's on any bike makes a world of a difference.
You are exactly right man! I remember you told me I would have a little slack and you were right. Not too bad but I can feel it for sure. Thanks for watching dude:)
There is a yellow sticker by the brake calliper mount. No DH use or trails. The top cap can blow off and hit you in the chin.
There sure is. This is exactly why we feel it is our duty to see how much abuse stuff like these forks and other less expensive parts can take in real world usage. After all we are the self proclaimed Guinea Pigs of cheap mountain bikes and parts. We don't generally recommend stuff and we certainly don't recommend that people do what we do but rather we show what we do to the stuff and share our experiences. Thanks man👍
Does the lutu fork allow for volume spacers? It would have been good to see you set the forks up before the video. I.E. Sag, how many clicks of compression and how many clicks of rebound available.
It does look like there is space for volume adjustment. I just took them apart tonight. As far as the rebound/compression clicks no clue man. When I do an update video I will try to remember to talk about it.
Hey man, do you recommend this fork or should i save more money on epixon. I intend to use it on xc and light trail and can this fork last for 3 years?
Man I can say the epixon is out of stock!! Sadly but you cant find one, so for $50 less the Lutu may do you for a while not beating it up? We abused them very much and got a season and abuse is an understatement. I would go for it man, they are leaps and bounds ahead of a coil. For the money you cant beatvthem too, but as far as lasting forever we wouldn't know. Good luck and remember we got affiliate links!! And I already checked for you, the epixons are still out.😔😔
I have the same bike and looking forward to try these, keep up the great videos
Well then let me say welcome, you have found the right place, if you like upgrades on a budget. Please subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss our twice weekly uploads. Have you made any or thought of any upgrades so far?
WOLFTICK VIDEOS yes, the first upgrade I made was to add the Shram Eagle NX 1X12 and it now runs so good and so much better, I also got a pair of crank brothers pedals, new grips and next will be the fork and tires
Hell yeah man keep it up! You were able to fit a 12 speed on the GT? Impressive👍
WOLFTICK VIDEOS yeah, I had to get a new bottom bracket and everything but it did work, not gonna lie, I had to take it to the shop and they got the job done in like 10 mins haha
Right on man! Thats real cool, I bet its a great climbing bike😀
I'm new but I dig the channel. I just subscribed.
I've got a 26 cult bmx. No shock forks. My friend and I put some sun tour crappy spring shock forks on it. It looked alot cooler, more like a dirt jumper. So I'm thinking about buying some cheap air forks. I'm a heavier guy and watched a newer fork video you had. You mentioned some shocks that were like 3 or 4 on the list of forks under $200. I'm 240pnds. Thanks for your help.
Ma thanks for watching man:) If you are at a solid 240lbs I would look for a thicker fork brother. Maybe a suntour epixon 140mm?? The beefy one we reviewed on the Al Comp-ZERKER! We appreciate you watching, subbing and commenting man:) Welcome to the #WOLFTICKNATION and we will see you TUESDAY! AXUM DP Time Trial Run down the CATS MEOW! Plus Coffee Shoutouts:)
Do they actually lock out? would need that feature for riding roads to get to the trails or riding uphill gravel /fire roads etc
Gotcha man, they lock out fine. I cant believe we didnt say that lol. The lockout feature completely locks out with no movement whatsoever.
What’s your pick between these and the buckles? I’m building a Schwinn axum and forks are on the top of the list to upgrade
Man they are similar, you know we rated and broke them down on each of there episodes. I would saybthe biggest difference is overall feel, the bucklos felt like it was lacking something.
How did you like the 32T oval chainring in comparison to your 34T oval?
Man minimal difference but it still feels great:) I would like to run a 32T oval EVERYTHING!!
Bought the LUTU fork because of this video, Thank you Wolftick :) Got a video on my channel with some riding with it
Sounds great! Hope they hold up and treat you right like mine are!!!💪 Will be wtsching your video after answering stuff, thanks
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yeah time will tell 🙂
@@ajaxistheshit is it still holding up?
Going back and looking at this video and how the fork is reacting. It may need a volume spacer added to it to get the correct rebound and compression settings, at least to get the knob to work correctly and to get full extension from the forks. Hope you try that and see if it solves the issue.
Would love to do something like that man, another thing I want to add is, I think my stem geometry had a lot to do with it man? Does that make sense? I rode here recently when I jacked my rim, and I felt with that new zoom stem I used, the forks were completely different feeling. Very spongy and forgiving, even more so I think that the uno stem. Whats your thought??? Let me know, you hope you can see what im talking about in the next GT video, that is if I ever get my wheelset in!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Looking at the bike in front of me, which is a 27.5 GT Aggressor Pro as well, i'm not sure if the geometry has a lot to do with the spongy feeling. I did some more research on it and from what i've read you may need to increase the pressure and slow the rebound down. I'm also reading that adding the volume spacer reduces the feeling as well. I guess it just depends on which route you want to take. Me personally i'd increase the pressure and slow the rebound down to see if it helps. If not then the next step would be add the spacer and reduce the volume in the shock and i think i would also reduce the amount of air in it. /shrug? I just wouldnt make to many changes at one time so you can eliminate 1 thing at a time. its just something you would have to play around with. Feel is based on the user. Heck i dont even have my own bike yet. This is all based on what i'm feeling with my wife GT and its all stock. It wont be for long though.
Well right on man! Appreciated I may look into other avenues and one more thing....please get a bike!!! Later brother
Does the bikes geometry still feel stable going from 80 up to 120? Hows the climbing? I’m thinking of upgrading the fork but I don’t know to go 100mm or 120mm.
Well i can tell you the 80mm as far as weight goes is rediculous when you upgrade to air. The suntours are 6.02lbs the Lutus you see are 3.96lbs, so big improvement in that area. As far as the slack goes having the 100mm and 120mm. A little difference on the climbing with the 120mm. Kinda was burning out a little but shifting weight was all that was needed. Really appreciate the travel. The 100mm climbing was not an issue at all, depending on the riding you do I would recommend the 100mm if not anything to out of hand. But those $144 Lutus sure are nice out there man! Thanks for watching and hope you SUB!!! Thanks
WOLFTICK VIDEOS I’m gonna go with the RockShox Judy probably. $170 and a brand name. Trying to keep the upgrades to established brands. Been subbed love the content so far!
Right on Ben! Thats awesome man, everyone mentions those, let m,e know how they go please. Thank you for being a subscriber and watching our content brother😁
I have a higher-end Fox 36, so I am unsure if this applies. I usually deflate the fork to 0 psi, and I add air in 5-10psi increments and then I cycle the fork. This allows the negative chamber to equalize with the positive chamber. This is what Fox recommends on their website. Give that a try, that might help make the fork feel better.
I did that tonight after reading your comment earlier, thank you and not sure if it helped yet still gotta ride em. Thank you so much for the input man!
By cycling do you mean pressing it down?
Wow making me dizzy just watching this. Awesome video by the way!
Hahaha Thanks man, don't get so dizzy you🤮😆.
Nice video. So it's basically a 100mm travel fork advertised as 120mm?? I need a 120mm fork to replace an old one and I want to get this fork but not if it would mess up the geometry of my bike by only have 100mm of stanchion.
Well pulled it apart and there is a full 120mm of travel most of its internal but it will mess up your gepmetry by adding more slack for sure. Little differences in climbing but not a huge difference.
super cool seat....wicked trail too man....pulling out the UNO rules like a champ hahahaha!!!!
Haha yeah Jeremiah would not even look at the rules, he knew I was right. Yeah that trail was Jeremiah's first Black Diamond, and he only wrecked once, so not bad I guess. We got your stickers today, thanks. Look for them to make an appearance in future videos starting sometime next week. Thanks guys.
Same fork here...so far so good.trusted fork light weight durable and comportable to use..i am the only one herin town using this lutu fork. I bought for P6200 for this. I'm herin the philipines but its from indonesia..
That's cool hot hear man, the fork served us well!! Is there a lot of people who ride in the phillipines?? Alot of people comment from there?? Thanks man
Hey guys great review! Hows the fork now any problems? Can you also tell me if those logos are stickers? planning to get them and would be nice if I can make it plain without any designs. Thanks :)
Well you can see an update here czcams.com/video/4EzVokY3KT4/video.html and if you don't want to watch that video, the forks are doing good. Yes they are stickers and you can remove them. Thanks for the kind words man. Oh and if you want an affiliate link for the LUTU's to help the channel here you go: rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FUS-26-27-5-29er-MTB-Bike-Suspension-Fork-120mm-1-1-8-Air-Shock-Rebound-Adjust%2F173946805283%3Fhash%3Ditem2880099c23%3Ag%3AvWgAAOSw9aJdEIB4&campid=5338684594&toolid=10001&customid=Fork It doesn't cost you any extra and we get a buck or two.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thanks man, I will try buy it from that link, by the way what you guys are doing is great! reviewing budget friendly upgrades, not everyone can afford or don't want to throw lots of money on their bikes! stay cool! #subscribed
Still waiting on my fork coming from China 😐.. and dude that was some impressive height you were getting 🤙. I also want to say that I’ve heard several pro mountain bikers say “there’s nothing wrong with bottoming your fork out once or twice on a ride, just means you are getting it’s full potential” so I wouldn’t worry about it unless it starts to happen more frequently.
I second that.
@ Itsyaboy Thanks man! And glad you appreciated the height!!! Its a great little coarse for people. Thanks for watching once again man!!! Im going to set the pressure up more then see what happens. Hope your forks come in soon man! fingers crossed.
:) for sure!

Hey, do you know about SR Suntour's upgrade? You could possibly get an XCR Air 32 or Raidon for $100.00 off just by replacing the XTC coil on the GT. I think the XCR would come in lower than this LUTU and the Raidon is $199.00 shipped with the $100.00 off. I upgraded to the Raidon on my Specialized Pitch and it was a huge difference in performance and a way lighter fork. Just a thought
Well thank you for the information on that , I have looked into it and the prices are not bad at all, but we do have a youtube channel and hope to bring forks to light that people dont review so much, well that and try and do a descent job:) Thanks really for the good information, people always mention but with not alot of facts. Oh we will be coming out with a new Brake video on Tuesday we hope!!! Hydraulic Brakes 4 piston:)
Would you recommend a 140mm on a small fram hard tail trek marlin 5 please all?…. The sr sun tour stock are ready for the bin, just stuck on what forks to pick up for her who will only ever do, single trail, or cycle paths and canal riding…..👍🏼🇺🇸🏴
Man a 140mm may be too much of a Juno for a small women who is going to do some riding. I would look at a 120 and keep it simple. You know she ain't gonna use all the travel, so I would stick with a 120 or 100..
I bought the same fork 120mm.
The extensions are 120mm but it doesn't seem to use the whole 120. And it says 100mm on the side. What's the issue with this??
Yeah its kinda weird, the graph seems a little funky. When we measured it it showed more than 120 mm and overtime it extended. I would be willing to bet you just need some more break in? Either that or the air inside is not enough to properly extend the stanchions
Nice budget performance
Thanks brother, got to break em in more i think but not bad at all!:)
Great video and I have new me and Damon will be uploading in a little u set a week so look out for that it’s not going to be much bike riding but it’s going to be epic
We will be watching for sure;)!
Thanks for sharing. I’m getting ready to install a Suntour XCR air fork (120 mm) on my GT aggressor. I was wondering how jumping from 80mm to 120mm would affect the geometry, balance, handling, etc. Looks like you’re pretty comfortable with this one.
Wow thats unexciting man! Happy for you, but anyways it doesnt really effect the handling too much but the climbing a little more. Not terrible but you find yourself having to lockout more and more just because the amount you have to lean forward to avoid tire spin. But all in all very comfortable 120mm and very little downside. I did change to a budget ZTZ kashima fork in between that was 100mm so the jump to 100 wasnt bad either. Thanks for watching and commenting! Got a cool budget tire video coming out Friday! For the GT and a Nishiki 1x7 Vidoe coming out tommorow, so be on the lookout and turn them notifications on please!!!! Later Buddy👍👍👍
@1thirty8 We were looking back at comments and found this one. First we were wondering how your fork upgrade went, and second we wanted to say sorry for the auto correction of exciting to unexciting lol. Hope you get this and give us an update. Thanks man🙂🚵♂️
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS thanks for the follow up, you guys have been putting out some great videos!
The XCR air is like night and day, compared to the pogo stick that the bike comes with. So much smoother riding, and the travel difference doesn’t seem to have any negative effects on the bike. I actually almost bought the X Fusion fork you guys recently reviewed, but the XCR was about 50 bucks cheaper.
@@1thirty887 hey brother glad to hear the xcr's are working ou fine!😉 it's funny the complete difference a bike will feel after a fork upgrade, sometimes it's dangerous lol!! For us anyway😂 the x fusion is a sweet fork man and look forward to every weekend more so now, but remember we got the x fusion trace 34mm 120mm travel fork going on the TAFF, that's gonna be a beast. Hope all is well man and we will see you tomorrow hopefully 😉 Sunrace groupset review, later man!! Thanks
Super helpful videos, got gt aggressor pro, so far loving it, curious as to how the 120mm will affect the longevity of the frame. Speaking to company reps will get you their liability response. Looking for some real life feedback. Looks pretty solid from those airs.
Can anyone tell me if you can upgrade the headset on the GT aggressor pro? I would like to go to sealed bearings. Mine now are getting a little worn. Would love you see a video of upgrading the headset?
Yes you absolutely can, I just upgraded mine and not sure if its going to make the cut but heres an affiliate link brother. How much oil do you recommend to run on these and what weight?
Man unfortunately we haven't got into the maintenance aspect yet. We try to give a more basic or beginner view of what to expect on long-term performance and durability as we have and use them. We figure that once opened up, it would just leave to much to wonder if it prematurely fails. Thanks man and sorry we can't be of more help.
If youre bottoming out on the rock gardens but not the jumps, then you should probably make your rebound faster (and maybe more plush compression). Also it doesnt sound like you have your sag setup correctly the table is just a starting point. If your sag is correct, and your rebound is setup correctly (imo as fast as possible without it feeling like a pogo stick) and youre still bottoming out, then you need to make your spring more progressive ie. reduce the volume. As far as compression is concerned you dont really need much granularity to that setting, Closed, medium, fully open is pretty much all you need so I dont think the weird thing going on with that forks compression settings is a dealbreaker.
Thats an awesome trail though. im jealous. I like the wolfman devils advocate on the forks. I like the voice over on the trail footage. Maybe some on screen captions for anything that the trail version of you is saying that may be relevant would be a nice touch.
Oh yea, i recently picked up some of these: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CYN4VCJ to keep my cables from eating through my frame up front. Liking them so far.
Well Vexis I appreciate all the info brother!Wow i will look into the link and also into the compression/rebound. Ill get it im sure. Thanks for watching and the constructive thoughts. Thats interesting:)
What do you is better lutu or bucklos $110
Can’t imagine getting the same amount of air with the factory suntour forks, rough landing for sure lol
Can you spell B-L-O-W-O-U-T!!!!!:)?????
WOLFTICK VIDEOS yup lol 💥
:) LOL
Hey man do the stanchions leak oil on yours?
@ LDiez MTB Yeah man they took a while ti break in now they slightly leave a trace when im hard on them. I added some lower unit oil to them the other day:) all good
You are a brave man guinea pigging these knock off forks jumping that high! Thinking its time to get something more trail/enduro oriented. Maybe something from Bikesdirect would fit the budget mold of the channel?
Ha ha l thats what I like to hear! I have checked out Bikesdirect, they got some pretty sweet deals.
Do they make a rebuild kit for this or are parts not even available
Man I have not seen a rebuild kit for it.....I doubt it
cool reviews finally someone reviewing budget gear we all know expensive stuff is better but how much better. so your recommendation, ztz or lutu, im 240lb 6ft 1.5" 40lb emtb. or wont take the weight?
Hey brother thanks for the question, we like to believe we are the guinea pigs for all things budget!LOL But the Lutus I believe would take the pressure needed to support you. I filled them up to 110psi to help extend them and kinda rode them for a while and they didnt act funny or anything. But maybe look into and see if there is a weight limit? We appreciate you commenting and hope you stick around Dude! Thanks again happy riding sincerely Jeremiah "The Tick" Cullum
So i purchase the lutu and am happy with it but did have to fit a spacer along with the adaptor spacer for the 180mm disk, like the post isnt the right length. but seem nice and flush. found rebound knob ready to fall off but other than that all good. set them up with 95psi and rebound and compression in the middle, backed off the setting 1 click. Thanks for the review and tips.
For sure man glad you went with them:) And hope they hang in there bud. Mine are still good and treating me well. Sometimes a little funky on the compression knob but all in all a very good fork and cant wait for the next!!! Got the fragment stage 1review coming out Tuesday and the Maxxis SS Review coming out FRIDAY!!! Black Diamond man:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS so ive ordered a gt avalanche sport now to get a better frame, i will swap over the lutus and the bafang mid drive. i got the sport due to the 9 speed drivetrain, stronger chain for the mid drive. will be putting on a microshift advent clutch derailier aswell, should be nice. Have to wait for the bike, very low stock in Australia, and gt wont allow shops to frieght bike out so a 600km round trip to pick it up when and if it arrives in 2 weeks. now im watching all your agressor vids. keep up the budget stuff.
Hell yeah man and will do, drive safe when you go and get her!!! LOL Good luck on the build and thanks form the update:)
Thanks for this video, i can't decide which fork to use, would like to hear your opinion:
1. Rockshox Judy Silver TK ($170)
2. ZTZ with remote lockout ($130)
3. This LUTU
What would you choose? I need a balance between performance and durability.
Well man the TK silvers are coil so as far as weight goes that would be a downfall but a good reliable fork im sure. Are they coil for sure? Checkout the weight, makes me think they are. Now the Lutus are dependable as well and but the only downfall is it may be too much slack for you when it comes to climbing. They do offer the rebound though and that particular accessory and its amazing!!! Now the ZTZ 's are what I would recommend, they are only 20mm less than the lutus, they are very light weight just like the lutus and are very tough!!!! Put them through hell and back and all good despite the beginning phase problems. Now they do not have a rebound adjustment but if you are looking for a fork to upgrade and a completely new feel for not a whole bunch of money? Then go with the ZTZ's man!!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thanks for the answer. The Judy Silver TK is in fact an air suspension, here you can see the specs: www.worldwidecyclery.com/products/rockshox-judy-silver-tk-suspension-fork-29-100-mm-9-x-100-mm-51-mm-offset-black-a3
other thing that worries me is the resell value, but i appreciate your opinion, maybe I'll go with the ZTZ. I can't find the exact same model you reviewed for my 29er but i think this should be the same: www.amazon.com/ZTZ-Magnesium-Mountain-Pressure-Accessories/dp/B07PFDMG27/ref=sr_1_3?crid=43EKIO7WILV1&dchild=1&keywords=ztz+kashima+mountain+bike+front+fork&qid=1597498332&sprefix=ztz%2Caps%2C226&sr=8-3
sure looks like it!:) curious on the weight
WOLFTICK VIDEOS I’m looking at these lutus/bolany air forks for a 26er, the only thing I’m worried about is servicing these forks, is it doable or is it kind of like a once you beat the hell out of them it’s time to get a new one?
Well man I would say once you beat the hell out of them they may be done? But I do know you can replace the seals if that means anything? Havent gotten too far on the fork department yet:) Btu man for the price why not right???
hello, the video is great!! I hope they ask me to answer, the truth is that I really like that fork, I do dirt jump, in a moderate way, I don't do very high jumps, is it useful? the jumps you do in the video are bigger than the ones I did without a doubt.
I bought the 140mm Lutu's for my Carbon Trail Cruise!
HOPE YOU LOVE THEM!! 140!!! Tapered right?? Thru Axle??
Hey WOLFTICK, I got the LUTU fork installed and boy it is night and day from the stock fork. I was able to get way more air and the bike is no longer front heavy. I wanted to let you know that I'm also only getting about 100mm of travel and I think that is how it's supposed to be and the stanchions are simply 120mm. I'm running 80PSI at 165lbs and it feels great. Only complaint I have about the fork is that the caliper bolt holes were machined slightly off and the brake was rubbing at first.
P.S. for those of you buying these forks, I would recommend buying a set of spacers to negate any headset play that results from the fork installation.
Dude thats so cool you got them installed and are getting some time in with them! Great info as well man very grateful. I love the way they keep you on the trail and soak everything up. Very smooth indeed, had a similar problem with the caliper alignment come to think of it. Thought it was just my workmanship LOL. But some spacers should def be bought for those looking to purchase. Later AJ and Happy Riding brother thanks for the comment and info once again.
WOLFTICK VIDEOS yeah so far I’m loving them! Well thank you for all the tips and videos, i had to watch this one and the install video about four times trying to get everything right with the fork 😂😂 happy riding man!!
Wow thats great man;) Glad we could help, and appreciate you helping us;)
Hello, I have the same Lutu and I am also only getting 100mm travel? Anyway to get the full 120mm, Have you taken it apart?
Hey brother, have taken it apart and it looks to me the extra 20mm is internal. Not a professional but im pretty sure thats were its at. Did a comparison the other day ZTZ to Lutu and the Lutu had way more room inside and bottomed out further than the ZTZ. So I wouldent worry brother
I get mine today. Not sure if I ordered a nicer one. They have a few price options. I ordered the more expensive one hoping it isn't identical.
Well man, after some riding be sure to give us an update, hopefully you like them!
Great vid! Can you do the 140mm ZTTO 32 RL next?
Hey thanks brother. Man we probably won't be able to check that fork out, but we will be looking for another one around 100mm for the Ozone though. Maybe when we get a different bike we can check it out, but the Aggressor won't be happy past 120mm I don't think. Thanks for the comment.
if you're bottoming out on rock gardens not drops, prob not enough air. what sag are you running?
We had them at about 30% but with some forks at this price point we have found that running anymore than about 15-20% sag just don't work with our hard riding/reviewing style. What would you reccomend for these forks? Thanks man👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 30% might be too much for the fork. I usually see 20%-25% recommended by most brands. Rear shocks can be as high as 30% cause the rear needs to stay planted in turns. Try 25% and see if you still bottom out on rock gardens, then try 20%. Looking forward to seeing the results.
Awesome man, thanks for the info and we usually like to run a good 2%5 to 26% depending on the amount of travel. Now unfortunately we cannot redo the LUTUS!! They died:( But we have a whole bunch of other fork reviews and shootouts so maybe one of those will be a prime candidate;) I would like to see some of the forks at a %20 for more rough riding, thanks man!!
Any reason you didn’t use the upgrade program through suntour?
I am all over this! Thank you for mentioning this!!!!
@RV FISHING ADVENTURES Well like I told 2wheels, the upgrade program is great but.... They only have a Raidon xc lo fork with 100mm of travel and for 199.00 after the trade in/upgrade program price. Thats the cheapest with a 1-1/8 straight steerer tube as well. Our channel is trying to really go the budget route(not that 199.00 isnt budget) but finding a fork that has not been reviewed on youtube for $144? Now that is a home run! Am i right?:)
@2Wheels2Freedom The upgrade program is great but.... They only have a Raidon xc lo fork with 100mm of travel and for 199.00 after the trade in/upgrade program price. Thats not a bad price but we do have a channel that thrives on the "guinea pig" aspect and finding those little deals and reviewing them is way more helpful to most viewers i think. Especially things that have not ever had a review done on them before much like the budget Lutu forks. Thanks for the question, we get that one ALOT!!!:):):)
you should try to put the camera on the frame on the downtube and you can get a nice view of the suspension. try to attach the camera by the letters “gt”
I have tried that and its not a bad view. But when I watch it, it gets kind of onesided? Looking down with no point of reference kinda gets to me, but not a bad idea to mix it up and not be so damn bouncy!:) Thanks Pedro!
Can you use this on trails? Like light all mountain trails? Really curious to upgrade my old Xcr fork.
Man I would say this fork would suit you very well for those types of trails:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS thanks for the reply brother! Really did enjoy your video about this fork especially your thoughts and breakdown of it. Time to upgrade my fork! 😁

How are they holding up? I am looking into getting the 140mm set and you are the only channel that I can find a good review of these forks.
Dude after a good break in they are pretty good still! Very impressive for the price, I would pull the trigger brother. Should be doing an overall bike update soon, thanks for watching man👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to follow the advice and pull the trigger on these.
Cool man and have fun they will be a good purchase for ya!!!!;) Thanks for letting me know brother
So would you say these are safe? I'm considering buying them but I don't want to put myself at risk
Well they are use at your own risk for whatever kind of riding you do. We test them so you can see what we put then thru, but it's up to your discretion. GOOD LUCK 👍 there is a big warning label on them.....
can you adjust the travel of this to 140mm?
Don't believe so brother😕
Are these not the same as the bucklos forks?
Similar
You should check out one of the entry level SR Suntour forks to see how they compare to these no name brand forks. You can get a brand new SR Suntour XCR for the same price. For a tiny bit more you can get an SR Suntour Epixon.
OK, ill take some notes then research it . That may be a good review as well. And i can do that trade up program on the suntours. Thanks
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I dont think anyone has done a video on the trade up program. Its something that a lot of people (myself included when I was looking at upgrading my GT) looked for but couldn't really find any feedback on. It would make a great video that you could part out into how to use the program and buy one, how to install it, and how it compares to the other budget forks you have already.
@LLoose Thats an excellent idea💪
Sometimes you need to pump the suspension up quite a lot then all the travel is exposed
the damper will definitely compress the fork, so you have to have enough air in it.
@ Johannes Nilsen Will be putting more air in it for sure man, appreciate the view!!!
@ OliyyRight on man, ill check them out tonight for sure, thanks for watching brother. Maybe 100 then let it sit?
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS how much PSI did you put in it?
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS that's quite similar to what I ran on my fox 32 when I rode the fuel ex 2014, 100 would not be too crazy, just try little by little do torture test run, see if you bottom out, try increasing it by 10 psi, if it starts to feel good try increase by 5 psi, until it feels good, if it feels too harsh back it down until the spot where it felt the best, but if you have to run very high pressure, and have harsh fork that bottoms out, volume reduction might be needed, that will make it more plush, yet more supportive. I use coil so I don't have to worry about pressure changes.
do you upload your pictures anywhere? I use Flickr my self even pay for Pro. I love the platform, super easy to upload into albums, groups, add tags, description and upload multiple pics at the same time.
some use deviant art, but it's pain in the butt cus you have to do one by one, so no pics there, only upload my art there, which I of course upload on flickr too.
Having my pics there makes it easy to embed them into my website too, without having to upload the pictures to the website, which requires paid subscription if done by the rate I am doing it at. but I like wordpress a lot, you can follow website too.
Art? you are an artist what can i type in to find you on flickr? And no pics out there of our stuff yet. Just youtube
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I use mtbboy1993 evrywhere I am at, but not on deviantart cus it would not let me use numbers when I registered. My trail pictures I upload to trailforks/pinkbike too, love trailforks, use it to record my rides.

Cool👍
That so smart man
Does anyone know the differences between the bucklos and bucklos LUTU models? LUTU looks a bit more expensive and lighter.
Not too sure man, maybe just stickers? Still the same banner just partnership? Maybe some one can chime in
I'm almost positive they are probably made in the same factory/location. Maybe 1 or 2 things different about them along with the name. This is quite popular in tools. I bought the Lutu past week seen some negative reviews and some positive but WolfTick took big air and they said they were fine. They are dead now but he absolutely abused them lol I just do trails and small jumps I'm pretty sure they can last at least 1 yr.
How did the fork do after a few months
This Lutu did great for about 5 months of some of the hardest riding I have ever done and then it died.
so overall, what do you think of the lutu?
Well im going to give it a little while to really break in. But Todd, the way the forks really stuck me to the ground and didnt feel like they were trying to buck me off, really sold me on them man. The ZTZ's kinda felt like pushy? And the Lutus for $144 felt very plush. I would say they are winners:) Thanks for watching and commenting man
Hey do you think that 120mm on this bike would be too much? I mean is the head angle still nice?
Well the head angle is a little "much" if you will, when climbing sometimes but locking out and cruising slow isnt really a problem. The jumping and overall trail riding is very smooth, maybe a little weird at some points. Got a new Budget Upgrade Updates video coming out next week man and we will go over the entire bike and tease a new one!!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I mean I have the gt aggressor 2020 and it has an 80mm coil fork and I want to get the rockshox recon rl to put because the present fork doesn't do justice at all
Completely understand man, I was in the same boat, I see that the forks have a 130mm option? Is that it???
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yea they do you can go 80 100 120 130 I think
I would opt out for the 100mm. 120mm can be a bit much when climbing but if you are a bigger dude and or do a lot of donwhill maybe look at the 120mm.
Can the travel be adjusted to 140mm.?
Not too sure on that one man, the internal chamber is pretty long but as far as being adjustable, I dont think so.

did the 120mm travel problem ever fix im thinking of buying this forl do you think its good for the price?
Hey brother thanks for asking and watching. Now lets see I took the forks apart and serviced them to a certain extent and I found that the travel is indeed 120mm. @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Hey one more question, whats the max tire width you can fit on these forks?

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Ok thanks i just wanted to make sure because if i get them im gonna have to fit 2.6 in between

Really interested in the budget tire review though
Thanks man. Yes save up and get the more proven fork if you have the means to do it.The tire video should be out next week most likely the 10th but that's not in stone.
But this is a good option for bikes where maybe there's a point of diminishing return on upgrades. I have a Trek Marlin 5 and perhaps a $144 upgrade is palatable, where a $250 upgrade just makes the money put in worth more than the bike. Depends on the investor.
@Degenerate Golf We agree with both sides of the argument. I mean if we based our upgrades on what a bike was worth, then we wouldn't have a growing channel I guess lol. But we don't believe in forking out (no pun intended) $1200 bucks all at once for a "entry level" hardtail at a bike shop. We are more about, get a bike you can justify the price of, and over time make it a little better, piece, by piece. Sometimes you might end up spending the same amount of money, but you get to make it the way you want, and only spend when you can afford/justify it. So yes we agree with you, but we also see the point in sometimes getting the maybe just a little better upgrade for a little more money as well. We haven't seen you around here have we? I hope you stick around, we need some more commenters that make rational comments.😁😉🚵👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Definitely sticking around. Enjoying the content so far! Good work, gents.

Is it possible to install a remote lockout on these forks? Sorry for the absolute noob question. Thanx
No problem with the question man, and I do believe there is a remote option thats gonna cost you more. And not to sure if you can do an add on? well changing the cassette would be quite an upgrade when it comes to the climbing department for sure. The more tooth count the better for lower end gears for the hills. Crankset just simplifies the whole system and allows you to really depend on rear gearing. Less chain noise and chain drops.

So far so good. Just rode a black diamond this last weekend while testing the Maxxis tires and it performed great. We will be doing a Budget Upgrade Update in about a week or so. Make sure you watch for that. Thanks for the comment.
3:18 fork not extending can be the fock compressing it self due to air stuck in second chamber, if there is one, then the fork will force it self strongly if it is a lot of air stuck in the second chamber.
Also some lockout you can lock the fork out in any position of the travel and those lock outs lock the fork out completely by blocking the movement physically, not with closing the holes in the damper. I don't know which system this for uses.
The fork might have a spacer installed which reduced the travel, or maybe they sent you a 100mm fork.
Maybe i will let all the air out and restart and let them sit awhile.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS if it's air stuck in second chamber, you need to remove the lowers, gmbn has a video explaining how to fix the second chamber suction issue, it's actually easy to fix, but if you don't know what you are doing you can hurt yourself and the fork.

The rebound on these forks àre only designed for on off and not really anything in between otherwise you could damage them. The abs is just a cap and nothing more. The only forks with the abs that adjusts damping is the manitou higher end forks
Thanks for the info man, felt more of what you are talking about when it comes to the KRSEC forks we got. Thanks and please watch the KRSEC video coming out tomorrow and let us know what you think man!!
do you know how many uno games have driven my family to rage lol man i miss camping with my old man and playing cards!!
Yeah man we just about knock heads on a regular basis!!! Especially Monopoly!LOL Thanks brother
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS man we cant even play monopoly in my house anymore lol its banned lol
Damn Son! Thats intense. I wont even look at our Yahtzee! LOL
its actually pretty normal for them to come compressed and you should work them for a little and then re adjust the air in them.
the only experience i have with air forks are Rock Shox soo like i said it looks like you need more air in them remember to set your preload by sitting on the bike also and then adjust lol you have to just play with it until u get the feel you want.
Yeah man I appreciate it, dad said the same thing. Gotta adjust to my body weight, not the rangeLOL Im a mess:) But thanks man ill do for sure
They had about 65-70 when they came in, so I filled em up to about 85 then let them sit. Installed and set to the graph on the back. Hope the stanchion will show more than just a half of the 100mm mark.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS air shocks can be fiddlely but ul get the hang of it im sure. The bike is looking great and im glad that seat is working out lmao 🤣 u should do a video on all ur gear like helmet gloves stuff like that
That is an idea man, thinking about my trail gear including cameras and stuff. Thinking about some new shoes as well!
Hi, are Lutu and Bolany same products manufactured in the same plant ?
Man we have no idea. We have never had Bolany to compare, but I would think it's likely. Sorry we don't have more info.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thanks I do believe also, looks really similar👌 Just one question my friend : may I instal a 120mm fork on my 2021 Rockhopper Specialized which frame is 100mm ? The fork is only 3cm longer
@Frank Thevin Yes, the rule of thumb is that you can go 20mm over stock with no problems. We go as much as 40mm sometimes, but we like to push the limits.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thanks and nice job by the way 🤘
nice, how about a strip down of the lutu fork , to see if its serviceable
That is a good idea:) We have been getting that for a while now, once we get some time to spend on smaller projects then that will be a first for sure sdq.
What do you think about the SUNTOUR New Epixon Remote Lock MTB XC DH Bike Fork on eBay for $219.98, they look pretty sweet all black and they are only 1640g, wonder how they perform though.
Dude! I have looked at those very thoroughly:) I think for the orice we would checkout the Roxshock Judy silver TK, they are out of stock everywhere but they are in the $169.00 area. I seen those epixons for $183 from the U.S. may look into those? Let me know Heres a link for the ones I have been looking at , they say everything but the DH rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FSUNTOUR-Epixon-Remote-Lock-MTB-XC-DH-Bike-Fork-26-27-5-29-MTB-Air-Damping%2F143650562019%3Fhash%3Ditem21723d9fe3%3Ag%3AmW8AAOSwK2VfEptA&campid=5338684594&toolid=10001&customid=Forks
WOLFTICK VIDEOS is that version of roxshock coil or real heavy or something ?.... Yup I think those were the same ones I was looking at on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/183846677587
I thought I remember somewhere in the comments on another video you talking to another guy about those rockshox on how they were heavy and might be coil load, I could be wrong though.
From what I just read the rockshox Judy silver TK Solo air Weight: approx. 2298 g. The suntour weigh 1640g with 130mm of travel.
Yeah dude real heavy! They seem to be an air fork though?
what's the latest updates abour the fork?
Well Cal I'm guessing that you are referring to the LUTUs here is the last two Budget Upgrade Updates czcams.com/video/4EzVokY3KT4/video.html and then finally czcams.com/video/cQ-YRyS2B3o/video.html let us know if this is what you were looking for or what you think about this.
Think this shock would be perfect for the Schwinn boundary? Just bought a used like new boundary but coming from a high end Trek hard tail. Down graded to put some money back in my pocket as I just had my first child and also haven't done any trail riding in the last year. No matter what I'd like a
Bike that can handle some trails. First thing I'm noticing is the front shock feels so cheap as expected on the Schwinn. Also mechanical brakes suck compared to high end hydraulic. Not worried about brakes. Most time will be spend riding pretty casually with the fam
Man you can use the Jessica headset adapter so you can fit in a tapered headtube , but may look into the tapered 29er bucklos fork?? We reviewed it on our Schwinn Al Comp ZERKER. Now it is a 27.5 but they do offer it in a 29er.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS any good 27.5 wheel deals out there? Maybe I can convert my Schwinn 29er to 27.5. it would fit me better but right now I just don't see the cost helping me as I was trying to save money with this buy. The Schwinn I have is a tapered head tube....
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS and thank you so much for taking the time here.
Also just subscribed.... Enjoying your content.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS you think the bucklos would be a better option? I see it's a through axel fork, is that still ok to buy for the Schwinn boundary? I know the stock forks aren't through axel so idk if the wheel supports through axel? Don't have experience with swapping forks, if you can't tell... Lol
🔥👍
Appreciated man!!!
