Fading Steps:
1st step, guideline with zero (make sure it drops towards back)
2nd step, guideline with .5 (no guard lever open)
3rd step, guideline 1.5
4th step, 2.5 blend outwards
5th step, blend out top guideline w/ 1.5 guard open to 3 qtr
6th, step blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
7th, step continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard open to 3 qtr
8th step, blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
9th step, open lever half way, continue blending
10th step, continue blending with lever open
11th step, do any touch up work
12th step, use trimmers to take out bottom hair
13th step, use electric shaver

Amazing tutorial. You have helped me soo much on becoming a better barber. The steps are very simple and easy to follow. However I sometimes struggle to get rid of the line between blade open and 1 open. Especially when the client has thick hair. Are there any tips, techniques or extra steps you would recommend to overcome this challenge. Thank you
Best tip I can give is when your initially setting that guideline is to be soft and make sure your flicking at the top, that way it will be a softer line to come back and take out,
I’m learning how to cut my own hair and my kid, i feel the same it so annoying when you spend about 2hrs and it looks nothing like on here. #Pissed 🤷🏽♂️

Should of went with a one guard flick out to give the bulk the consistency towards the end you gave a 360 camera view you can differienate the bulk from the fade other than that spot on

I cannot for the life of me get the first guideline out that I make with the no guard lever open. So obviously tried going in with the half guard 3/4 open. It does not do it. I close more. I end up making another guideline or going too short. Any tips??

It’s Sad seeing some people’s parts that far into the middle of the head but to each their own . I try to convince new clients with parts that far to do a buzz cut and create a proper part.

You guys make it look so easy, struggling to get the lines out on taper fade on my kids hair.
Find it hard to use the 0 1.5 1 guard on transitioning.
I’m doing something wrong the fade don’t come out right. 🤷🏽♂️🤯😭
Take your time make sure your flicking at the top of each guideline and don’t get discouraged if it takes sometime my haircuts take me 45-60 min
... and only take the clippers up a tiny bit at a time when you get to the bald line ... it is all about taking time to learn
