I saw Pavarotti and Freni that same year (I believe) at the Met singing La Boheme, first time I heard Pavarotti in an opera production.... Sitting in Row 7 in that moment was like sitting on cloud 9!!!! even now the memories give me goosebumps... Forever in my heart, Rest In Peace Maestro
And the conductor was Carlos Kleiber- it was unforgettable even for someone like me and ho heard Luciano sing Boheme several times around the world . Maestro Kleiber made it sound like the most exquisite lace woven around those voices of gold .
The Pavarotti/Domingo version of the Act 4 duet from "La Boheme" is a classic.

when you say tenor you mean pavarotti, he is the benchmark, that other tenors try and attain and never will. words of the head of Decca Records. I dont like to compare but pavarotti is the best tenor of all time, this was said by Leone Magiera expert singing teacher, pianist, a muiscal expert. he is in a class by himself. Domingo was always jealous of all of Pavarotti's accomplishments.

La carrera más prolífica la ha tenido Domingo, llegó al cine, fue director de orquestas, fue considerado el mas grande tenor del siglo XX, tiene dos record guiness de los aplausos más largos del mundo y un sin fín de méritos, además del nutrido canto de arias wagnerianas, sarzuela, entre otros. Pavarotti se encasilló más en la ópera italiana, pero le resultó suficiente para dar a conocer su indiscutible y prodigiosa voz.

Kwok, you've got quite an excellent collection of uploads of opera, and of Maestros Domingo and Pavarotti in specific, and I am enjoying the heck out of them. This clip from the Met Gala, as you likely know, has been uploaded before by someone else, shorter and in poor condition (but even when the quality has suffered due to age, etc, it is still better to have great art preserved and documented in whatever media and condition available, because technology is always improving and one day, an upload in bad shape might be rehabed and archived in perpetuity). Finding this today is a real treat, like an early Christmas gift. I'm very appreciative. I'm praying that you have the rest of the gala and will in due time share the whole thing. So far, the quality of recordings you made and well-curated is fantastic. Mil gracias hombre, paz y salud. (I subd a while back.)
