Wonders of Hungary - Children's Railway, Budapest

The Children's Railway in Budapest is a unique spectacle: it takes passengers into the hills of Buda, which is an excellent programme in each season, although its most breathtaking view is perhaps in the autumn. This narrow-gauge forest railway line is operated by children - except the locomotives, obviously. Although there are networks with a similar system in some other parts of the world as well, this one in Budapest is the record holder with its 11.7-kilometre-long track. In addition to the beauty of its surroundings, we also picked this line as a wonder of Hungary for its timeless community-building merits.
