  • This museum quality exhibition presents sixteen works, many that have not been publicly seen for decades. Still lifes depicting dead game, and landscapes from Céret are among the artists signature subjects and will satisfy any viewer wishing to luxuriate briefly in the painters urgent yet lyrical style.

His brush strokes and style is unique. In his time they called his art bullshit. It was no rules painting. One of best painters that ever lived. Absolutely a master

This is what great art looks like. You can feel god speaking through his hands. The man was on it. Incredible. Thank you.

Chaim Soutine was from Belarus, which was part of the Russian Empire back then. Also French artists Michel Kikoine and Marc Chagall came from the shtetls of Belarus. Their works are incredible!
    Thank you for this video.

Looks like a memorable show. I wish Paul Kasmin could just stop for a second or two & 'frame ' each one as he goes along . But his involuntary gasps & sighs as he moves to each one are more than sufficient compensation & entirely suitable !

As a New Yorker, born in Brooklyn, grew up mostly in Queens, went to HS at Van Buren with Mapplethorpe there are a few things I miss because I now live in Joshua Tree CA. Shows like this is at the top of that list. It is such a wonderful treat to see this on rough cuts, I thank you and Kate very much. Jeff

....James, I have been watching your rough cuts a lot recently because it gives me a chance to see artists art works and i am also looking for a place where i may place my paintings and where my art fits in. I would like to know if i can email you for I have questions id like to ask...thanks for these posts and thank you for introducing artists who aren't seen by many and esp., here in the west, and it gives us a chance to learn and virtually view them ....
